Mira McKinney

Biography: American character actress Mira McKinney specialized in conveying silent outrage, imperiousness and embarrassment. One of McKinney's first screen appearances was Modern Times (1936), in which she and Charlie Chaplin exchanged baleful glances at one another while their stomachs growled in unison. She went on to play scores of snooty maiden aunts, angry shop customers, gimlet-eyed landladies, and at least one over-the-hill streetwalker. Mira McKinney's last known film appearance was in 1955.
