    Gedge does an interesting job of blending fuzzy guitar with orchestral arrangements on this album; the elements fit together more coherently Gedge does an interesting job of blending fuzzy guitar with orchestral arrangements on this album; the elements fit together more coherently than they did on Disco Volante. At the same time, the excessive number of mid-tempo numbers leave you feeling like Gedge is holding back a little bit. Maybe Gedge doesn't want to rock as hard as he used to with The Wedding Present, but it's arguably what he does best. Go see Cinerama in concert--where the songs are faster and more guitar-based--and you'll see what I mean. Still, this disc will most likely make it into my "Top 10 of 2002" list.
