    The introspective narrative may not be uncharted territory, but Dido chose these waters. She is unrivalled in navigating them with her disarming and melodic harmonies. If we’re going to hell after this, let’s enjoy this atmospheric goddess while we can. Beautiful.

    Still on My Mind is another rich outing for Dido in every way. At its peak, it provides awe-inspiring combinations of singer/songwriter radiance and novel sonic manipulations and juxtapositions; at its weakest, it's still innovative and diverse enough to appeal to specific audiences and maintain Dido and company's willingness to expand their palettes and take their listeners to different places.

    Still On My Mind is by far Dido's most cohesive body of work, and I've got to say I'm more impressed than I expected to be. This is a massive improvement from her previous album, which had a lot of moving parts that incorporated more electronic elements, but as a whole it didn't really work. With this one, she really perfected the acoustic/electronica fusion---all the parts are moving in synchrony with one another and the overall product is polished and makes musical sense. The only issue I really take with the album is that somewhere in the middle it loses its momentum a bit (particularly with the tracks Mad Love and Walking By, which feel a bit disruptive to the track list, but I do still enjoy them). This album offers exactly the poignant lyrics and wispy melodies I'd expect from Dido, but surprisingly (and successfully) layers them over electronic soundscapes and vocal harmonies unlike anything else we've heard from her. She managed to evolve herself while still being herself without losing her essence, which is absolutely a not so much easy thing to do. Still On My Mind has got personality, style and all the other things Dido gave us with her previous albums. Still On My Mind is by far my fav album of 2019. I have heard the album and the accoustic versions of many of the songs on "Still on my mind" and it is mind blowing. Yes I sound like a fanatic but didn´t even bother to buy her last albums but this one is something different and I knew it from the moment I heard "Hurricanes".
    "Still on my mind" is a fantastic piece of work where you can see the evolution of Dido, it is mature , not ambitious but experimental, a balanced record. The best tracks: Hurricanes, Still on my mind, Hell After this, Mad Love and Some kind of love.    … Full Review »
