Olivia trouxe o que precisávamos, músicas simplesmente boas, puras e que todas as mulheres que estão passando e já passaram pelos seus dias de adolescentes vão se conectar.

Really impressive debut. the opening “brutal”really kicks in with great pop punk. Traitor follows as a great power ballad. No soy fan de Olivia, pero su álbum debut está muy bueno, tan solo "brutal" es una canción muy pegajosa aunque se siente muy corta, en fin, bien hecho.

Olivia Rodrigo show us her fears, expectations and frustations as a teenager on the lyrics of her debut album, in terms of sonorities, she show us her versatility as a artist, 'SOUR' is pop, but is rock, alternative and folk too, and the mixture of genres does not make the album lose its fluidity and cohesion.

From start to finish, this album amazed me. For a debut album to be this good is a big accomplishment. From the rock inspired bangers like brutal and good 4 u to emotional ballads like favorite crime and traitor, Rodrigo blows us away with her strong vocals and even stronger lyrics. My only complaint is that I wish it was longer.

SOUR is an excellent album for the heartbroken. With detailed lyrics, music that is part pop-balladry and part fuzzy-guitar-rock, and tracklisting that has a seemingly perfect flow. This album is the most impressive debut studio album coming from an 18-year-old, and it's exciting to see where her career could go!

With a world of expectations at her feet, Olivia Rodrigo managed to overcome and exceed even her most harsh critics. Influences of Paramore’s iconic punk sound structured by inspired lyrical ways of Lorde & Taylor Swift give her audience every bit of excellence they never knew they wanted until they had it. The album shows us that there is no place but up for Rodrigo, sure it has its weak points but its better than anything I wrote at 17 and thats what makes this most impressive. Look forward to her next projects! Expand

Dare I say Olivia had the best debut album of the last 5 years? I do. Olivia had a very strong record that was very emotionally charged. The record was pretty short but I will say that I think it was nice having a no skip record versus a 17 song album that you skip half songs. The songwriting was fantastic and obviously, there's room to grow, but this is a very strong album. HighlightsDare I say Olivia had the best debut album of the last 5 years? I do. Olivia is proving shes much more than a one hit wonder. My only criticism of the album is some songs fall sonically a tad flat and tend to sound very similar. This however, is to be expect when a young star is finding their sound. Leaving me excited to see how she can grow from here as she strengthens her already impressive talent. Expand

Sour is the best debut of an ex act since yours truly by Grande, she clearly shows that she is above many others of her origins like Gomez and Lovato, she defenility shows your feelings on the lyrics, the kid have a brilliant future.

Olivia, while sometimes not taking the chances she should be, still stretches her voice and wings on this impressive debut album. Bringing back punk-rock that feels Avril Lavigne inspired and creating Taylor Swift feeling ballads, this album is truly unique in its own way. It takes you to places and makes you feel just how SOUR Olivia is over her relationship(s) ending.

Olivia is a talented artist and she is miles ahead of where her main influences ( Lorde and Taylor Swift ) were when they were her age or when they debuted. Daniel Nigro also proves to me an immaculate and versatile producer who brings Olivia's vision out in the best way possible. The album is an amalgamation of various sounds including punk-rock, pop-rock, indie-pop and ballads. She emphasizes the same theme of heartbreak and sadness in most of the songs but at the same time she does it skillfully and all while exploring various sounds. Most of the songs have a very somber tone and they display raw emotion and teenage distress. Not to mention her impressive vocal ability which she shows off on the more acoustic songs like enough for you and traitor. The only negative thing i could say is she relies too much on the same narrative about this break up and its not really a multi-dimensional break up; she was madly in love, he broke up with her, he moved on very quickly. This is the same narrative in drivers license, traitor, good 4 u, traitor, happier , deja vu and most of the other songs. It could get boring. Luckily, it doesn't because she keeps things very short and sweet. At just 35 minutes, the album is the right length and it does what it needs to do. It shows Olivia has a lot of talent and she is just getting started. Expand

It gives us feelings that we can't even relate properly - because we've never experienced particular and singular things that she has -, but we truly feel whatever she's singing by the way she sings it. The themes range from loving disillusionment to the sorrows of aging without prospects or thinking you've wasted time and were masterfully addressed by the "good 4 u" singer in this record. Olivia Rodrigo has shown part of her huge potential in "Sour" and we're looking forward to her next steps in the music industry. Expand

Her combination of sweet melodies and bitter moods, her conversational flow, and her self-awareness are all skills many songwriters twice her age would love to call their own, and they make Sour a well-rounded emotional journey and strong debut album.

Sour, for the most part, is a pop album that dips its toes into the alt-pop and bedroom pop subgenres, specifically spending most of its time in the latter. ... Rodrigo's lo-fi deep cuts that were made in the shadow of "Drivers License" can sound a bit repetitive. Her craft as a songwriter is especially evident on tracks like "Enough For You", "Happier", or "Hope Ur Ok", but the acoustic complexion these songs were going for could have benefitted from a bit more background noise.

By the end of the album, Rodrigo has established her voice and showed listeners that she's not afraid to be vulnerable. SOUR is a strong debut that vividly illustrates the beautiful chaos of being inside a teenage girl's brain.
