She’s only getting bad reviews because she changes her style, but that’s a good thing that people should appreciate. Fallen fruit, The man with the axe and The path are the high levels of the album

O álbum está incrível, Lorde continua mostrando que é sim o futuro da música como David Bowie disse e prova que nunca estará acomodada num estilo musical pois ela é muito criativa e talentosa pra se limitar.

This is like a comforting hug from an old friend. I hope we stop comparing this to melodrama. They are two very different album.

Poorly constructed project, album too shallow and lacking cohesion, too weak commercially, totally forgettable.

Yellow and golden and all the other summer-fall colors bring such nice meaning into this record and it fully makes me recharge my energy every time I listen to it. It's purely therapeutic. I am so proud of her, and I am so grateful for this record. I'll keep it safe deep inside my soul and my heart. Happy Solar Power day guys! Enjoy, vibe out, let it sink into your veins and be okay! Her best lyrics but her worst music. Everything sounds the same and is boring. Mood Ring is the star of the show.

Lorde's Solar Power is the dreamy, euphoric and self-reflecting album that will heal your wounds from riding through Lorde's violent wave of emotions of her past two albums.

Álbum maravilhoso, é possível ver que Ella amadureceu bastante e está muito feliz. Os críticos que deram notas mais baixas não entenderam o conceito de um álbum mais pessoal e simples, que não usa um ritmo como o do Melodrama

This album is so magical. Pitchfork should put their opinions in their **** holes. Lorde just want us to experience a new level in this life. This album is perfect while you were walking in the beach back and forth. You will gonna experience feelings you never felt before. Magical, pure nostalgia, tears of heaven. Her best album vocally. 10/10

It's a pretty boring album, the same sounds, it looks like I was listening to a 40-minute song, I don't recommend listening to it

An incredibly cohesive sound for this long-awaited third album. It's like waking up sunburnt at 4PM wondering what life really means, but gently, without blaming yourself, with grown awareness of what it means to be young (but not that young anymore) and alive (in a world that's dying). Not an easy one to listen to, but it caresses and blesses you with warm, tired sunlight. Loved it.

masterpiece of an album! the people who are hating on ella just cant accept this isn’t melodrama 2. while it sounds very similar to other music jack has helped produce the lyrics and ellas vocals make up for it. the growth from lorde from pure heroine to melodrama and now solar power has been a joy to experience. stop running off with what other people are saying and enjoy the album :D

LORDE has once again given us bops. Love the lyrics and production. The song the path is the perfect beginning for the album it reminds me of a path in the forest where the sunshine peeks through the trees. The last song, Oceanic Feeling is 6 minutes of pure bliss.. thank you for coming to my ted talk.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Solar Power Is Singer/Songwriter Lorde’s (Born Ella Marija Lani Yelich O’Connor) Long Awaited Third Studio Album Following Her Massively Well Received “Melodrama” Released In 2017. Ella Is Notorious Of Reinventing Herself And She Didn’t Miss This Time Either! Pure Heroine (Her First Record) Was A Darker, More Teenage Angst Album. Melodrama Had A Futuristic, Modern Day Mood. Solar Power Now Takes on The “Sunlight” and “Heavenly” Feeling. The Path Is The Perfect Opening Track With The Strong Vocals And Soft Yet So Prominent Guitar. The Title Track Is A Nice Introduction To The Album Even-Though It Is More Of A Generic Sound For The Artist. California and Stoned At The Nail Salon Are More Stripped Back And Lyrically/Vocally Stronger. Fallen Fruit Is A Multicoloured And Perfect Balance Of What You’d Want In The Way That It Has A Rightly-Placed Beat-Drop. Secrets From A Girl (Who’s Seen It All) Is A Poppy, Upbeat Tune Enhancing Yelich-O’Connor’s Power To Reach All Aspects Of The Alternative/Pop Genre. The Man With The Axe Is The Perfect Way To Fizzle Out And Is Lyrically Stunning. Dominoes Once Again Is A More Upbeat Song Linking To A Coming-Of-Age Soundtrack. Big Star Is An Extremely Melody About Her Now Passed Dog “Pearl” And Knowing That Makes It 10x Sadder As This Was Written Before He Left Us, Probably The Rawest Song On The Record Leading Into The Interlude Like Track... Leader Of New Regime Is Really Well Tailored To The Aesthetics And Purpose Of The Record. Mood Ring In My Opinion Should’ve Been The Lead Single, Being Versatile To All Audiences Making A Highly Powerful Vocal Arrangement, The Pop 00s Feel Is Perfect Way To Blend Into The End Of The Record. Oceanic Feeling Is A Perfect Lyrically Enchanting Song And Probably The Best At It!
My Only Critiques With This Album Is That Oceanic Feeling Should Have Been A Bit Shorter. Leader Of New Regime Should’ve Been Longer. Mood Ring Should’ve Been The Lead Single! Other Reviewers Are Trying To Compare This Record To Her Previous “Melodrama” With People Allegedly Wanting A “Melodrama 2.0” According To Fans.

All these connections Lorde is trying to make: her strange pastiche imagination of the ’70s, that random spoken word interlude by Robyn about climate change, and the themes of “sun healing,” never fully reach each other. Often, they come off as disingenuous and out of touch more than they read as brilliant, or comical. Whether the album is one big prank, or just one majorly failed experiment, the gist of having the “privilege to ignore” is lost in translation. All you are left with is just a handful of pretty alright songs.

If you're riding and vibing with Lorde, this bright shapelessness is superb mood music. If you're not riding her wave, Solar Power can seem elusive, even cloying, as it circles and sways with a smile.

This might not be the album that everyone wanted from Lorde, but it’s a solid, dreamy effort that deserves exploration. There’s plenty here worthy of attention if you can focus for long enough.
