    Solar Power is Lorde's Album of Healing. It transcends you into this summer world of peace that you might have nostalgia for in this pandemic. Overall her return to nature after her teen angst and sonical trauma shows her power. And she says, "but you gotta want it for yourself".

    Not the best album but there's a couple good tracks. I didn't feel that excitement of the past albums. I'm kinda disappointed.

    amazing album, lorde had nothing to prove to us, she could do the trending sad album like a melodrama 2.0, but she followed her plan, she did what she wanted to do, not what we wanted for her to do.

    I've taken the time to listen to this record a second time in order to get a rating. Now I'm aware of the presence of Imbruglia, Tunstall, Bailey Rae, Bedingfield. It's another sensation, another Ella. Why do we settle for comparing it to Melodrama? Or with Pure Heroine? That's not okay. She's a girl who's tried to grow up [and is evident since the choice of the color yellow]. Of course,I've taken the time to listen to this record a second time in order to get a rating. Of course, each album is different in its own way ... or do you want the same girl doing the same thing over and over again? Why do we allow Gaga to reinvent herself? Or Taylor? Every time Ed reinvents himself, he goes from bad to worse and nobody says anything to him. Let the artists experiment! Leave Ella with her folkloric vibe and lack of percussion; she has done things for a reason, and it is time to enjoy them as they are. SP has not captivated me much, tbh, but I try, and it's true.

    It's different, still it's Lorde. It takes time to appreciate it but once you do, it's addictive. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's not good.

    I was very disappointed in this album. I expected something better. Dont start with the “she’s happier now” or “you said that with melodrama”, thats not what I mean by better. I meant better. The album seems anticlimactic, all the songs have the same boring energy. Only good song is mood ring.

    The emotions, the beats, the melody, harmonies, everything is amazing. She is a different pop star in the way that she doesn’t only (or mostly) writes about loving someone, she writes about nature, the world, growing up... in the most beautiful ways. And the way that she writes is so amazing because she really gives us (listeners) the full experience of the song. Her album is amazing, andThe emotions, the beats, the melody, harmonies, everything is amazing. She is a different pop star in the way that she doesn’t only (or mostly) writes about loving someone, she writes about nature, the world, growing up... in the most beautiful ways. And the way that she writes is so amazing because she really gives us (listeners) the full experience of the song.     Boring, hardly any shining moments. I was not a fan of this direction. I wish that there had been more energy and less holistic healing ritual.

    Fascinante como a Lorde expressa sei amadurecimento através de um som mais orgânico, sensível e leve. Ela atinge esse objetivo, de trazer momentos do verão, momentos leves, as vezes contemplativos e nostálgicos, de renovação.

    At best, cohesive. At worst, repetitive. Jack Antonoff’s hazy guitar is present on almost every song on this album, to the point where tracks begin to blend together. It doesn’t sound bad, but many tracks are plain and unremarkable. Slightly disappointed knowing what Lorde can do, especially with a lot of time.

    Obviamente nada que ver con Melodrama, pero este álbum no pretende ser ello, me he visto a mi mismo disfrutando del álbum cuando en las 2 primeras escuchas no me gustó demasiado, a disfrutar del mismo porque es puro arte.

    The album was very underwhelming after such a masterpiece like Melodrama. It would’ve been less upsetting if she released it earlier so people wouldn’t have raised expectations to a high level. Cute beach album but that’s all.

    Si miramos hacia atrás y comparamos el nuevo material de Lorde nos percatamos que se ha inclinado a dejar por completo los sintetizadores que tanto la caracterizaban por incluir mas las percusiones y el uso de guitarras para darle vida a su nuevo material discográfico un cambio arriesgado que pocos se atreverían a realizar, "The Path" es claramente la canción perfecta para darte una introducción de lo que es por completo "solar power", sin embargo, el que dejara aun lado el uso de sintetizadores no es excusa tal vez para que en alguna de las 12 canciones llegara aquel punto "explosivo" que tanto conocemos de ella, es verdad que hay canciones muy buenas como "mood ring, solar power, california y stoned at the nail salon" que da el concepto de un álbum "vintage" (muy bueno para ese estilo)

    Definir el nuevo álbum de lorde es complicado pero si lo tuviera que describir es un trabajo muy "personal" y difícil que sea muy bien aceptado en la sociedad tal grado de pasar completamente desapercibido si no fuese que de este saliese un nuevo tour.    … Expand

    After the firts heard I didn't like too much, but after 3 o 4 days of listened i start to feel so nice.
    Sounds that bring me peace, fav tracks are in the deluxe, Helen of troy and Hold No grudge, also include Secrets from a Girl (WSIA)

Mucha vibra envolvente y fresca, tal cual como el título "Solar Power"; sin embargo las inconexiones entre los distintos cortes, hacen que se pierda el hilo, viajando en el mismo paisaje; la misma carretera. "Secrets from a Girl", "The Man with the Axe" y "California" lo mejor de ese pasaje. Sinceramente creo que es un buen paso para su evolución, sin quedar estancada y sin perder su esencia.… Expand

    entiéndanlo este es un buen comeback , este es un álbum tipo parody/satírico esa es la intención de Lorde si lo ves desde esa perspectiva o punto de vista es un muy buen , un gran álbum.

    Not her best, but is still very good. Some songs are amazing - secrets, mood ring - but others just don't have anything special.

    nessas poucas escutas absorvi a inteireza lírica, melódica e conceitual do "solar power" em catarse osmótica, me pegou muito forte. reflexões lúcidas sobre a morte, contestações sobre o estereótipo de "celebridade", perdas, recomeços e ressignificações do (des)amor, tudo isso faz sentido pra quem avançou algumas etapas. o "melodrama" é uma explosão sobre o início da vida adulta, decepçõesnessas poucas escutas absorvi a inteireza lírica, melódica e conceitual do "solar power" em catarse osmótica, me pegou muito forte. reflexões lúcidas sobre a morte, contestações sobre o estereótipo de "celebridade", perdas, recomeços e ressignificações do (des)amor, tudo isso faz sentido pra quem avançou algumas etapas. o "melodrama" é uma explosão sobre o início da vida adulta, decepções amorosas e exaustão afetiva das primeiras aventuras. não somos adolescentes ou adultos iniciantes, a vida começou faz um tempinho e as buscas se intensificam. a sonoridade de "SP" traduz bem a atmosfera de buscar um lugar confortável pra ficar sem perder as inquietações de um espírito reflexivo. era o que eu queria e esperava, a lorde não precisa dos fãs de aclamação, ela mesma disse que esse álbum era pros fãs que adentram em cada experiência. os momentos que serão embalados pelo novo álbum vão mostrar o poder de cada faixa e farão sentido. a mente dela me fascina e eu faço meu review e construo minhas críticas. depois de cursar comunicação percebi que qualquer um pode ter uma opinião adversa sobre algo, aprendi também que unanimidades são burras e limitantes. quero abraçar o som orgânico das guitarras acústicas, estar calmo mas não satisfeito, ainda há tanto a buscar..."leve-me para algum tipo de lugar, qualquer lugar. assistir ao sol se pôr, refletir sobre minha vida. eu só quero saber, ficará tudo bem?"… Expand

    Unambitious and disappointing. While there are a few alright songs, the last half really loses the album's momentum. If this was released by any other artist, it would be completely unremarkable.

    All these connections Lorde is trying to make: her strange pastiche imagination of the ’70s, that random spoken word interlude by Robyn about climate change, and the themes of “sun healing,” never fully reach each other. Often, they come off as disingenuous and out of touch more than they read as brilliant, or comical. Whether the album is one big prank, or just one majorly failed experiment, the gist of having the “privilege to ignore” is lost in translation. All you are left with is just a handful of pretty alright songs.

    If you're riding and vibing with Lorde, this bright shapelessness is superb mood music. If you're not riding her wave, Solar Power can seem elusive, even cloying, as it circles and sways with a smile.

    This might not be the album that everyone wanted from Lorde, but it’s a solid, dreamy effort that deserves exploration. There’s plenty here worthy of attention if you can focus for long enough.
