    It is a very creative and enjoyable album to listen to. An intimate and totally sexually free album, an album you hear with a smile on your face. Unfortunately, Katy is greatly underestimated and undervalued by the macho critic who thinks women only sing cliché romance songs.

    Letras maduras o suficiente mostrando o quanto Katy cresceu, mas ainda sim tendo seu lado “Teenage Dream” ali.

    Katy es una reina y definitivamente ha superado sus cinco eras anteriores. Cry about it later y Not the end of the world son unas joyas y se merecen ser un single. Todo el álbum es increíble.

    Este es el mejor álbum del año y agradezco a Katy por traernos este nuevo disco justo en estos momentos tan difíciles, la letra de cada canción perteneciente al álbum Smile nos trae tanta alegría, esperanza y sonrisas.     Katy Perry paints herself as an underdog, someone who was cast out of pop heaven. Isn’t she the 8th best-selling female artist of all time? And hasn’t she broke and/or set so many records? The reason no one cares about Katy Perry anymore is because she gave up on her own career. Had she promoted “Smile” better, this could’ve been her Mariah Carey-esque moment. She needs a reality check.

    This is undeniably a well-written, well-sung and well-produced pop album, and yet these songs still manage to sound very genuine and surprisingly heartfelt. It’s evident that Katy wrote this album for herself and that, I think, is what makes it so perfect and relatable.     Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
