    When you read such negative reviews, you trust that they are right, but when you listen to the full album, you are shocked because they are wrong, it is personal. The album is the best work by Katy Perry since PRISM. It's the album I needed this year, it's the album we all should listen to. Talking about forgiveness, improvement, empowerment, happiness and resilience is just perfect.

    First and foremost, it started with a great song which is Never Really Over, I bop to it the moment it was released and I'm very happy that it's in this new record. Then it was followed by Cry About It Later, which for me was the most Catchiest song in the album (excluding Never Really Over). then it all went along with the other tracks. Its very beautiful and Inspiring.     Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
