    her most cohesive album to date. i am very satisfied and happh with how much i love this album considering i was so disappointed with Witness (that one is far from cohesive and had so many filler tracks). personally, sonically this album reminds me to Loud by Rihanna and is just as organized as thank u, next by Ariana so if u like both aspects from both albums, i don’t see any reason for uher most cohesive album to date. i am very satisfied and happh with how much i love this album considering i was so disappointed with Witness (that one is far from cohesive and had so many filler tracks). personally, sonically this album reminds me to Loud by Rihanna and is just as organized as thank u, next by Ariana so if u like both aspects from both albums, i don’t see any reason for u to dislike this album.… Expand

    Katy Perry is very pure, beautiful and perfect in this era. This album shows the new katy perry who is not only a pop star but a mother. I hope she enjoy and has a lot of fun with her Baby Daisy. Katy has always done a good job and brought us incredible songs. Stop throwing hate at women in the music industry, they work too hard.

    This album is all about rising up, it's screaming positivity! These songs inspires, makes us relate. I seriously feel happy for Katy when I listen to these songs, she seems really happy now. She deserves that.

    i never imagine i'll be here rating katy's album smile. After listening to it on repeat I ended up loving most of her songs (NRO, HIH, Smile, Daisies etc.) it is a different katy for me and i love it.

I just love it, is full of bops that will make you want to bust a move (Champagne Problems, Not the end of the world, Cry about it later) and others that are so beautiful and emotional (Resilient, What makes a woman, Only Love)Katy really impreseed me on this album, I definetely recommend you give it a listen.

    The critics had her dirty. Smile isn't bad at all, it has meaningful lyrics about loving who you are as a person, Katy herself is a wonderful person who just gave birth to her sweet daughter the same week when her album was released. Just accept the fact that this industry hates her and go stream the album. She deserves it!

    It is clearly her best album to date, as it’s her most mature and cohesive body of work. There is not a single bad song! It is really disheartening and disturbing to read the vicious reviews from critics, as they in no way reflect the true quality of the album. I hope people can look beyond silly critic reviews and simply enjoy the wonderful music Katy has gifted us. 10/10 Katy!

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    While Perry finds the occasional moment of quality here (Smile and Tucked both feel like the best possible music we could get from Katy Perry in 2020), Smile is an album searching for an identity—and when it fails, it falls back on lazy writing.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
