    There are NO skips on this record and it is just hit after hit after hit. As you can see, literally no one agrees with these critics because the user score is phenomonal.

    The best album of the year! Highlight Cry about it later and champagne problems. Super intimate and touching lyrics, no doubt Katy is one of the best songwriters of her generation.
    The journey she spent battling depression brought a lot of baggage to a beautiful album. The fact that she is the executive producer alone still gives the music more power. I just loved it!

    Smile and Daisies make sense inside the record, bad choices of singles. Once you get to champagne problems you know is your second favorite record from this queen    Just perfect.

I was kinda worried about her recent single and worry that this album will underperform like “Witness” or the background instrumentals will sound a little bit dull like her previous record. HOWEVER, the present of “Cry About It Later” and “Not the End of the World” just WOW me, the later one especially feels like “Dark Horse” and “Black Widow”(alsoI think Katy Perry just redeemed herself. I was kinda worried about her recent single and worry that this album will underperform like “Witness” or the background instrumentals will sound a little bit dull like her previous record. HOWEVER, the present of “Cry About It Later” and “Not the End of the World” just WOW me, the later one especially feels like “Dark Horse” and “Black Widow”(also written by Perry) are having a baby, the background instrumental is powerful that is rare in recent pop music industry.

    I really hope this album makes the “professional” critics start focusing on the art and not the artist. Smile is the perfect definition of a innovative comeback while not loosing her authentic self. Tracks like Tucked or Teary Eyes show the old Katy Perry critics were missing when she dropped Witness, however it seems like double standards and misogyny make them not really appreciate thisI really hope this album makes the “professional” critics start focusing on the art and not the artist.     smile has a beautiful soundtrack, Katy finally found her only smile and put it on 12 tracks
    not the end of the world is the most amazing song on this album, you can see Katy giving her greatest potential in that song.
    for sure this is one of the best albums of your career, perfect!

    I loved every song and every lyric, I don’t know why the Metascore is so low because all of those biased “critics“ just dragged her and wrote hypocrite articles to attack her as a person instead of criticise the album.

    It’s baffling seeing “critics” say this is anywhere near bad when me, a non katy perry fan seems to already enjoy this album a lot more than other 2020 releases. From the amazing production, to the amazing dance beats to the lyrics. She truly outdid herself and made her best album since prism, dare i say Teenage Dream?

    Smile é um álbum simplesmente incrível!
    Perry conseguiu compilar 12 músicas maravilhosas numa obra que, sonoramente agrada qualquer tipo de ouvinte e, liricamente tem a possibilidade de inspirar e abrir um verdadeiro sorriso no rosto de quem se identifica com os temas abordados, de maneira explêndida, em cada faixa do álbum!

    I don't know what problems the judges have with Katy Perry. She delivered everything in this album! Perfect lyrics, perfect songs and a breathtaking production (made by her) in this album. I think they have problems with her, not with the album (what should have been analyzed from the beginning). Katy made what she do best: music with ❤️

    such a good album, don't understand why critics are being so harsh, it's clearly more of a personal thing that they have against her. This obviously isn't the best album released this year or her best overall but it's not the worst either, the themes she sings about in many of these songs can help many people through the bad year everyone's having which is something Katy is good at.     Genuinely grateful that this album has come with a right time. The whole story is about resilient and finding your own strength, during the hard times that everybody is facing often, we need to remind ourselves not to be trickledown and find your smile back. Great album

    Smile is an amazing album! seeing that she passed the witness era that was one of the most difficult moments of her life and now she is smiling and making an album about being happy it makes me inspired.

    Without fleeting moments of bad taste, Perry does indeed sound mature, but she's also not quite as fun. That's a conscious choice, though. Smile is intended to evoke memories of her frivolous younger days while pointing toward a sustainable pop future.

    Like Joanne before Chromatica, Smile plays like a necessary centering exercise, indulging her insecurities and less surefire instincts. If Witness was overdetermined, Smile is an earnest exhale, for better or for worse. It delivers an image of her journey towards inner peace that is honest (if corny) and catchy (if not exactly inventive).
