    Extremely mature, experimental and cohesive. Truly one of the best pop albums since 1989, Gomez returns in full force proving this is HER time.

    Gomez undoubtedly evolved in his musical direction from a very pop album in 2015 with "Revival" and buzz singles like Bad Liar, Fetish, Taki Taki and others throughout 2018. With this album Selena makes it clear that she is happier that never, that he loves more than ever and that no one else can stop her again, melancholy songs like Lose You to Love Me or energetic songs like Dance AgainGomez undoubtedly evolved in his musical direction from a very pop album in 2015 with "Revival" and buzz singles like Bad Liar, Fetish, Taki Taki and others throughout 2018. With this album Selena makes it clear that she is happier that never, that he loves more than ever and that no one else can stop her again, melancholy songs like Lose You to Love Me or energetic songs like Dance Again or Ring, without a doubt Gomez is in one of his best moments of his career and we are happy that this makes her bring one of the best albums of 2020 for now.… Expand

    Rare certainly is an evolution of Gomez. Even with a marked diversity, Rare achieves cohesion and clearly has a line that doesn't the tracks spread. Rare is really rare, honest and unique.

    Definitivamente o album da carreira. Coerente do inicio ao fim. Super bem produzido e com letras realmente verdadeiras. Dá pra ver o quanto ela cresceu e amadureceu com todos os altos e baixos que ela teve esses anos. Album do ano, sem sombra de dúvida

It should be noted that Gomez has worked to improve his vocals very well. I don't think there is any bad song, especially Vulnerable, a magnificent track with synth-dance pop essences.     While none of these 13 songs attempt the subtle weirdness of “Bad Liar” and the emotional thesis—self-love!—can be a bit one-note, Rare is the 27-year-old’s most cohesive record to date. ... But it’s difficult to come away from Rare with any real perspective on who Gomez is other than that she doesn’t want to be the person she was, whoever that similarly mysterious shadow was.
