    most cohesive album of hers and she’s explored her vocal range with new, beautiful techniques. This album really has its own sound and feels more like Ariana than her usual pop hits.

Ariana cames in the 60's vibes in sound and your esthetic make the trip for this universe R&B and "Lady Like" vibes. Introducing tracks "chill out" and 90's VHS vibes, like West Side, my favorite song of the album. This album is so intimate and stay home vibes but you can be happy listenig watching the nature the beautiful gray sky on a trip. Congrats Ariana! Love you!… Expand

    definitely one of Ariana's best albums. it has innovated and matured a lot since "thank u, next". Positions is not a crumbly pop album like others out there. I really loved this album, all the tracks are perfect!

    Ariana proving that she doesn’t need to do a single sticky pop song (which we love) to deliver a quality material. Her vocals are greater than ever, the melodies are tasteful and soothing and all that combined with the +18 lyrics. GREAT JOB

    “Unforgettable pop”....I’m sorry but that’s not what this is. This is timeless RnB. She is no longer making music for clout, she’s making music for herself. You can hear that this album is coming from such a genuine place, just like Thank U, Next. It’s very different, but to say it’s bad is beyond me. It’s just a different vibe and, in my opinion, her best yet.

    She’s made better albums but it is very fitting for this year. Quite down tempo tracks. Very mellow but it works. The collaborations on the album are quite bad and thats simply why it doesn’t get the 10. My Hair, POV & Obvious are amazing and sound so well crafted and written.

    This album is truly one of my favourites ever.. Ariana Grande managed to combine good enough lyrics with an astonishing production. Her vocal performance is completely out of this world and honestly I believe this is one of her best works on that department, if not the best. I hope that she dives into rnb even more in the future.

    Es un álbum variado, con el mismo toque distintivo de ariana, sigue el estilo de TUN con un poco de cambio, tiene buenas canciones como pov al igual que tiene canciones un poco simples como motive, pero en general es un buen álbum sin mucho cambio.

    An amazing body of work. I never expected Ariana's sixth studio album to be R&B-esque but I'm so glad that it was. I'm never disappointed by this woman, she continues to deliver masterpiece and masterpiece, this is my favorite album of hers by far.

    Positions is good but for sure not the best Ariana album out there. The explicit lyrics are both good and bad idea in my opinion. It is good to have more of a sexy album but not the whole thing.

Easily became one of my favorite albums, 34+35 introduced a new explicit and sexy style for Ariana that she's never done before. POV is another great hit from this album that describes how she wants to be able to love herself like her lover loves her. Motive, which features Doja Cat, is an amazing laid back hit. My Hair is also a great addition to this album where Ariana sings a whole verse in her whistle tones, something many other artists cannot do.… Expand

    A bit underwhelming from an artist who released thank u next, and the half baked lyrics were a bit disappointing. Still, the bold stand on her sexuality is admirable and her vocals as always were flawless. An okay album in simpler words.

    One thing I really liked about this album is that even though the topic of the album and the lyrics in general are more "dirty" or "sexual" (not in a bad way) , the instrumentals and the vocals still very elegant and subtle. Here you can find a song called 34+35 with a very explicit lyrics, but it has violins and amazing vocals. As I said before Ariana is exploring new horizons and I'm all here for it. I've never heard anything like this before. A trap base with violins and harmonies. It's everything just perfect.    … Expand

    As an Ariana Grande fan for a long time, I think I can be honest about her music. I really loved the Sweetener and Thank u, next era but after those massive albums, I'm a bit sad, listening to Positions. I could not rate any of the songs 10/10, but positions and pov are at a very strong 9.5. All. Of the rest are below, between 6 and 9, but my calculations resulted a total of 7.85 rate.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This album is a grower, but is not bad in any means. Her lyrics are on the same level from the lyrics in Thank U, Next. This is her only album that tells a story from start to finish. It opens up with the track shut up, which is my least favorite from the album. It addresses the critics and haters she has had over the years and how their opinions do not matter. I personally don't like the descending notes during the chorus, which makes this my least favorite song off the album. We move along to 34+35, which is a fun song about sex with little puns hidden all throughout it. Its about being carefree. Ariana has said herself this song is a joke in her interview with Zach Sang. Now we move into the story portion of the album. Motive featuring Doja Cat is next and tells the listeners Ariana's worries as she meets new people, especially those who she involves herself with romantically. As a celebrity, its easy for people to use you for fame and fortune and Ariana is not going to let just anybody in. Next is just like magic which is about Ariana's ability to create successful music, and manifestation. This is a song in reference to Thank U, Next which was created in 2 weeks and was made mostly from her just enjoying her friends. Manifestation also has a part to do with the people she attracts into her life, like new boyfriends. Now on to my personal favorite, off the table featuring the weeknd. This song explores Ariana's doubts about love after past trauma and plays back into motive, asking the intentions of her suitor. The Weeknd plays as her suitor in this song, promising her it will all be okay and trying to open her mind up. Moving along to six thirty. This track is asking Ariana's suitor if he is ready to commit. Ariana has made it clear at this point she does not want a fling. If she's going to be in a relationship again, she wants it to be worth her time and effort. Next is safety net featuring Ty Dolla $ign which continues the story of Ariana and her suitor by letting him know she's falling for him and is scared to commit after still not being healed from past relationships. They are letting each other know this is the real deal. Following safety net is my hair, which is a very sultry song. This song is about Ariana letting her man play with her hair during sex, but also has a double meaning. Ariana has naturally curly hair and has explained how she liked to keep it for her friends and family at this time because its an intimate part of her life that reminds her of before fame. As she lets him see her real hair, she is letting him see deeper into her soul. She also ends the song with singing the whole last chorus in whistle tones. Nasty is up next. While nasty is another song about sex, its also extremely intimate. She doesn't want quick sex, she wants to make love. Next is westside which is Ariana fully ready to commit with her partner completely and announcing she's not scared anymore. love language is next which is essentially Ariana speaking on how well her and her boyfriend get along. Of course it can also be a reference to sex, but it's mainly about them taking the next step in their relationship and being on the same wavelength about it. positions follows and while this song is about sex, it also has a double meaning. Ariana is ready to do what will please her partner the most while also pleasing herself. It's them ready to do anything for each other and bonds their trust. Up next is obvious. obvious is kind of a wrap up to the entire story of the album on how she believes in love again and how that came about. They obviously love each other and there is no hiding it now. Finally, the album wraps up with pov, which is a love song to her boyfriend. How can you love that thing i hate about myself? How could you possibly love my ugly? It lets Ariana know for sure no doubt in her head that her man loves her. In the bridge Ariana sings "all my baggage fading safely" which is a reference to ghostin of Thank U, Next in which she sings "I'm a girl with a whole lotta baggage". It lets Ariana's listeners know she is healed from past trauma enough to move on with her life and part of that is due to her new relationship with her boyfriend, Dalton Gomez. They started dating January of this year. This album includes some of Ariana's hardest vocals. She uses whistle tones in multiple songs: off the table, my hair, nasty, positions. Showcases her range beautifully. The entire album is filled with orchestral sounds, adding a beauty to it. Ariana layered her own vocals extremely well on this album. The main writers on this album are Ariana Grande and Tayla Parks. There are a lot of references from Ariana's past work in this album continuing her story from Sweetener and Thank U, Next. If you have not heard this album, I would recommend. Keep in mind this album is a grower for a lot of people like Sweetener was.… Expand

    definitely one of her best albums for sure. u can see how she healed mentally from thank u, next to make fun music that she's comfortable with. so so happy for her.

    This album gave me goosebumps and still does every time I hear it. Shut up was a great song to start, her vocals are unbelievable. Although the firsts songs of Positions are the weakest comparing to the rest of it, Just like magic comes with beautiful details that brings everything else to a better place. Off the table is beautifully honest and The Weeknd fits extremely well in this song,This album gave me goosebumps and still does every time I hear it. Off the table is beautifully honest and The Weeknd fits extremely well in this song, it also talks about healing and grief from a point of view that most people do not, which is very interesting, definetly one of my favorite Ariana's lyrics. My hair has some traits of Amy Winehouse and the late 2000's, in it's lyrics, theme and melody, which I appreciate a lot. POV was also an amazing song to close the whole thing. I think my only criticism in Positions is that it doesn't have a theme itself, even though the title track and it's music video has a strong meaning. The songs have few connections with each other, which I consider really important for an album, but it does have some parallels with her old ones. Besides that, it does feel like a complete piece and it's why I think it deserves a high score.     Sweetener is about being falsely happy and trying to heal from the **** you'd faced in life. While thank u, next is about facing all the **** that happened to your love life and to realize that self-love is more important. It's like the continuation of Ariana's diary. The album is vocally and instrumentally pleasing. The production sounds expensive. This album is so cohesive compare to her previous projects so far. Her voice perfectly blends in RnB and Ballad. I wish she would stay in that genre, especially Ballad coz' IT'S SO GODDAMN BEAUTIFUL. I just don't understand why some fans and normal people are disappointed with this album, coz' It is not great as thank u, next? Though I must say, It's not Ariana's best album by far. I still consider thank u, next as her best album. But It doesn't mean that it is considered as Ariana's worst album already. Personally pov is the best song from this album. Pov should be nominated on next year's Grammys for song of the year.

    positions might be one of Ariana's best albums, the calm and smooth mood of this album just gives R&B perfection.. I hope she continues to head in this direction with her music.

    Simplemente Ariana ha madurado mucho como artista y como cantante. Ella misma dijo que en este álbum lo que quería era cantar más y eso fue lo que hizo. Las vocals son impresionantes, el ritmo me recuerda mucho a Sweetener y eso me da a entender que quiso hacer un álbum poco comercial y más experimental. Me encanta

    This album is a masterpiece that tells a story unlike Ariana’s previous works. It ventures into a new space of music and I think that it complements Ariana’s style and voice perfectly. There is a mix of stereotypical pop songs and also R&B and ballets. Ariana never misses, and this was certainly no exception.

    El albúm es completamente perfecto, cada canción es una obra de arte, es un albúm de creciente adquisición, en mi opinión a la primera vez puede parecer básico pero connel tiempo te das cuenta que es algo que Ariana disfruta cantar y que le va perfecto. Dulce voz con melodías un tanto agresivas, una obra maestra.

    With little conflict and few psychological insights, Positions zeroes in on the enviable confidence that only pop stars on top of the world and with nothing to lose can afford. It's easy to write it off as empty calories, but pop has always been described in such terms: cake, candy, chocolate, confection. Positions isn't a "sweetener" but pure sugar.
