Lana del Rey keeps growing and heading to be “the greatest”. Her voice, her moods, her storytelling’s are by far some of the best around. NFR is one of the best of the year, if not the best!

I cannot stop listening to this masterpiece. If she doesn’t finally get her long over due Grammy, I will boycott them & never show my support again. It deserves album of the year but we all know it probably won’t get that nomination.... all I can hope for because I have it, is a few nominations & at least one win. By now after 5 albums, I will take whatever I can get for her... and aI cannot stop listening to this masterpiece. Why is there so much hatred towards female celebrities yet the same for so-called privileged and trivial male artists and celebrities is not not the norm in our culture.

Norman **** Rockwell! is another amazing album from Lana Del Rey, possibly her best. The synthy production and new 'country' feel creates a unique body of work and presents a new direction for Lana's sound. The unbelievably soft (almost whispered) track 'Cinnamon Girl' is my personal favourite song on the album, it managed to make me cry and really feel what Lana was trying to convey.Norman **** Rockwell! is another amazing album from Lana Del Rey, possibly her best. The unbelievably soft (almost whispered) track 'Cinnamon Girl' is my personal favourite song on the album, it managed to make me cry and really feel what Lana was trying to convey. Overall the album is an emotional, her placing 'Love Song' and 'Cinnamon Girl' one after the other is almost emotional abuse, but there is a slight outlier, to me, in the form of the track 'California' as the delivery of the song just doesn't catch me like the rest of the songs on the album, it is still a good song its just not on the level of 'Cinnamon Girl', 'How To Disappear', 'Happiness is a Butterfly' and 'Love Song'. When the title track started playing I had one thought; 'Lana's back and she's cooler than ever'! Expand

Going for a more stripped down production this time Lana focusses less on the bombast of her previous record with more Leonard Coen esque piano ballads.

It's a remarkably sharp pop record that retains her fascination with pop-culture iconography and the rosey simplicity of a post-war America where classic rock and blue jeans ruled and takes them to much deeper places. ... Think of it as an hour-long car ride peeling down the highway with classic rock blaring out of the radio and no real destination in mind other than where your impulsive nature might take you.

A thematically rich record, heavy on mood and elegantly written in a way that positions Del Rey between Eve Babitz and Carole King. There are beguiling and evolving melodies underneath the spare piano and acoustic arrangements. [Nov 2019, p.24]
