I loved this album! It's a mix of 1989 and reputation - two of my favorite pop albums of the past decade - and it has zero skips. Highly recommend!!!

With a mix of reputation and 1989 instrumentation, the lyricism of folklore and evermore, and a soft pop melodrama's inspired. Swift show us a brand new sound with amazing and deep personal lyrics.

Her artistry knows no bounds. I couldn’t imagine a better album to follow Folklore and Evermore. Not a single skip. Dark, edgy, tragic, beautiful… seriously perfect. She delivered and then some, over and over. My obsession continues!

I've been waiting for a Taylor Swift x Jack Antonoff creation for literally years and it was worth the wait. The dark synth sounds alongside her twisty lyrics (excepting the fun of Karma, of course!) make this a perfect addition to her already impressive catalog.

Swift has done it again a pop masterpiece. The lyriscs cut deep like a knife. With soft ballads like sweet nothing and you’re on your own kid showing a more intimiate side of Swift

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Sonically different than the masterful Red Re-recording, Evermore, and Folklore albums, Midnights is a breath of fresh air from T.Swift. One of those albums that grows on you with every listen. Rich in storytelling and lyrical craftsmanship, it satisfies like an everlasting gobstopper. Though my current favorites are "Anti-Hero", "Snow on the Beach", "Karma", and "Labyrinth", I am looking forward to the inevitable seep of lyrical consciousness that less earwormy songs provide over time. Those types of songs tended to be my ever-lasting favorites on previous albums. Expand

An absolutely monumental work of art! Pop is inherently about fashion and style, but Taylor again takes the road not taken and puts out a pop record that glows with her songwriting talent.

Bad album. Boring and generic sounds. People will only listen to it because it's Taylor but at the end of the day we know she's one of the most overrated singers in the world right now. She can't even sing live. All the songs are bad. All the hype is an illusion. She should retire immediately.

Taylor saved pop in 2014 with 1989 and now she has produce an Album unlike anything I've ever heard yet so familiar at the same time. Mastermind indeed.

It deserves to be album of the year. The music still retains the definition of Taylor's old albums, but has been improved a bit, so it sounds a bit mysterious, but it's good to hear it again and again.

Taylor dived into synth-pop with a hint of alternative, every song feels fresh. The kick in the beginning with Lavender Haze is surly one of the greatest accomplishments for this album.
Tracks like, Anti Hero, Lavender Haze and Vigilante **** will get more attention from the public, but songs like Mastermind, Sweet Nothing and Bejeweled should be valued just as much!
    An amazing experience overall!!

Terrible album for Taylor. Very sleepy. No highlights. She’s still singing about karma, revenge and scheming as if it’s 2017.

I love the concept of the album and think the lyricism is top-par, even for Swift.

I really appreciated the high energy on both Anti-Hero and Karma. I love the concept of the album and think the lyricism is top-par, even for Swift.

I really appreciated the high energy on both Anti-Hero and Karma. I think some of the other pop songs on the album (such as Question...?, Vigilante **** Labyrinth) have a more generic pop sound that has been done before and do not stand out sonically. However, lyrically, all of these songs are still fantastic.

Other songs, such as Maroon and Mastermind, also have a production similar to her previous work and are not standout tracks.

I really enjoyed both Snow On The Beach and Sweet Nothing. They were a nice change of production to break up the album, are amazing lyrically, and great sonically.

So overall, I think the lyricism is incredible but the overall production on several songs has more to be desired. Taking a song such as Maroon, for example, and adding more energetic production would have been interesting. Perhaps an upbeat 80s type beat and more enthusiastic vocals. This was the general trend I had on most songs- with a more nu-disco, EDM, or banger-pop beat/production, these songs would have been taken to another level, just like Anti-Hero and Karma.

With catchy beats and lyrics, this is Taylor's best album to date. Helping with the transition between folklore and evermore, the experimental side of it is really giving her new pop era

This album was very boring. Her voice is bland, and the overall vocals put me to sleep. The only slightly good song is mastermind, but other than that, it sucked. I don’t know why anyone would listen to this album.

It allows Swift to do what she has always wanted: make an album for its own sake that is received primarily as a work of art instead of a commercial entity or tabloid fodder.

It is very good. ... There are no major missteps within the album, although not everything works as well as the album’s brightest spots.

While her 10th album doesn’t make instant classic status like 1989, and Evermore and Folklore remain her masterpieces, it is still an understated, beguiling look into the mind of one of the biggest pop stars of our age.
