Her best album to date! Ambitious, fun, unlike nothing she’s ever done while still paying homage to her pop roots. The Aaron Dessner produced tracks are lovely, keeping the Folkmore stans fed and simultaneously evoking 70’s era disco tracks. It’s amazing from beginning to end. I look forward to hearing her AOTY acceptance speech!

Honestly, WOW. I was hoping this would be a more mature version of 1989, with a bit of the best parts of Rep./Lover/folklore/evermore & the From The Vault songs, and holy hell: Didn’t disappoint. In fact, TS exceeded expectations with the very “chaotic” drop of 7 additional, fairly lengthy, tracks with the “3am edition.” (Double Album Drop Swifties = winners atm). By far her best work of art! She just proved again, that she is not only the songwriter of our generation but also the artist of our generation! Grateful to be alive at the same time as Taylor Swift! For real!

To me it’s just not that good, her worst and weakest album to date. The melodies go absolutely nowhere, vocal melodies are so boring and the production is plain, there’s no vocal range, Taylor stays in the same register the entire time, lyrics are not so great either, throwing in a few big words doesnt necessarily make a song good, feels like her tackiest juvenile lyrics yet. It doesnt sound like a taylor swift album. Snow On The Beach is decent and anti hero is a grower but thats it. Not one good hook or amazing bridge something she is very well known for. The songs just sort drag on, like you are waiting for something to happen and it just doesnt. She used Lana as a selling point and she barley sung on the song apart from one line. Its like jack told her 'hey go read some monotone poetry' and write lyrics like that and I’ll do some boring synth work over the rest. It’s basically sounds like a bad jack antonoff album to me, not a Taylor swift one. I think she needs to stop working with him, hes boring and doesn’t challenge her and most of his stuff all sounds the same. I don’t know how swift can go from writing songs like Dear John on her own at 19 to whatever this mess is, like I expected hard hitting lyrics the way she describe this album but to me it sounds like something a semi decent 19yr old pop singer today would write. If any other artist released this I wouldn’t have listened to it, and if any other artist released this I doubt they’d be getting the same hype. It feels like nothing but favouritism to me at this point, anything she does gets praised no matter if its good or bad, anyone who dares gives her constructive criticism is deemed a hater and that’s the problem critics are afraid of getting blacklisted or attacked by her or her fans and when you have an entire fandom that are yes people there is zero room for growth. Overall an underwhelming album that isn’t that enjoyable to listen to and something that is forgettable, I’ve listened to it over and over the past day and not one lyric or melody has stuck or played in my head, something that always happens with a swift album and this is coming from a swiftie since 2007. Nothing new, same sound, mid lyrics. She needs to stop making music for a few years to understand which direction to go since 2019 she has released mediocre material and impulsively dropped albums does not help the artist's creativity even if it satisfies your fan base which in this particular case is mainly a white demography.

Loving this. Another masterpiece from this prolific and incredible artist. This emotions run through each song so beautifully. Taylor Swift is so masterful in creating an atmosphere so true to the emotion she is portraying. I just love this, like all of her albums. What a treat.

Amazing how the album is consistent from start to finish, it's easy to see references to other times but it's understandable since it talks about nights she spent awake. The album is amazing and Taylor once again made no mistake.

It's OK. There's no denying her talent and I certainly wouldn't call this album a miss, but it's relatively boring compared to Lover or Reputation. "Lavender Haze" and "Karma" are the best tracks here IMO. Mad respect to her though as an artist. She's great.

I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan. I have been since her first album. But for me personally, Midnights didn't quite manage to make me feel what her past albums made me feel. It's undeniable that most of the songs on Midnights are good songs, with good lyricism and good beats. But after how incredibly perfect Folklore and Evermore were, I think I just expected... more, from Midnights.

The songs on Midnights don't feel as emotional or as lyrically-impressive as the songs on Folklore and Evermore were, and yet the songs on Midnights also don't feel as catchy or powerful as the songs from Taylor's albums before Folklore were. I'm sure that relistening to the album in the next few months will make me appreciate it more, but right now, it doesn't really feel like an upgrade over her past albums. And that's not necessarily a bad thing; after all, the standard of Midnights is still high. I just personally hoped for something stronger from her 10th studio album.

It allows Swift to do what she has always wanted: make an album for its own sake that is received primarily as a work of art instead of a commercial entity or tabloid fodder.

While her 10th album doesn’t make instant classic status like 1989, and Evermore and Folklore remain her masterpieces, it is still an understated, beguiling look into the mind of one of the biggest pop stars of our age.
