Her artistry knows no bounds. I couldn’t imagine a better album to follow Folklore and Evermore. Not a single skip. Dark, edgy, tragic, beautiful… seriously perfect. She delivered and then some, over and over. My obsession continues!

I've been waiting for a Taylor Swift x Jack Antonoff creation for literally years and it was worth the wait. The dark synth sounds alongside her twisty lyrics (excepting the fun of Karma, of course!) make this a perfect addition to her already impressive catalog.

One of those albums that grows on you with every listen. Rich in storytelling and lyrical craftsmanship, it satisfies like an everlasting gobstopper. Though my current favorites are "Anti-Hero", "Snow on the Beach", "Karma", and "Labyrinth", I am looking forward to the inevitable seep of lyrical consciousness that less earwormy songs provide over time. Those types of songs tended to be my ever-lasting favorites on previous albums. Expand

Bad album. Boring and generic sounds. People will only listen to it because it's Taylor but at the end of the day we know she's one of the most overrated singers in the world right now. She can't even sing live. All the songs are bad. All the hype is an illusion. She should retire immediately.

Taylor dived into synth-pop with a hint of alternative, every song feels fresh. The kick in the beginning with Lavender Haze is surly one of the greatest accomplishments for this album.
Tracks like, Anti Hero, Lavender Haze and Vigilante **** will get more attention from the public, but songs like Mastermind, Sweet Nothing and Bejeweled should be valued just as much!

I love the concept of the album and think the lyricism is top-par, even for Swift.

I really appreciated the high energy on both Anti-Hero and Karma. I think some of the other pop songs on the album (such as Question...?, Vigilante **** Labyrinth) have a more generic pop sound that has been done before and do not stand out sonically. However, lyrically, all of these songs are still fantastic.

Other songs, such as Maroon and Mastermind, also have a production similar to her previous work and are not standout tracks.

I really enjoyed both Snow On The Beach and Sweet Nothing. They were a nice change of production to break up the album, are amazing lyrically, and great sonically.

So overall, I think the lyricism is incredible but the overall production on several songs has more to be desired. Taking a song such as Maroon, for example, and adding more energetic production would have been interesting. Perhaps an upbeat 80s type beat and more enthusiastic vocals. This was the general trend I had on most songs- with a more nu-disco, EDM, or banger-pop beat/production, these songs would have been taken to another level, just like Anti-Hero and Karma.

Taylor Swift proved that she is really the mastermind by making an album with the production touch of her past pop albums, lyrically genius like her alternative albums, and the fairytale feels of her country eras. She proved that our melancholy and what-ifs at 3 am can be beautiful and advantageous. This is her best pop album to date, referencing each of our inner problems and past selves.

Midnights is incredible, it's hard to adapt to this stage of Taylor, but if you're a fan you'll understand. It's mystical, dark and recurring, it's like 1989 and Reputation had a child. Sure, the somewhat distorted voice in the intro might give you a jumpscare coming fresh from You're On Your Own Kid, but this very distorted voice is actually one of the things that make this track so special.

What the biggest disappointment so far is the fact that Lana doesn’t get a verse or a bridge on this song, something that would help give a standout hit in the album. But if course it’s going to be commercially successful because it’s Taylor Swift. In general, this album is one of her weakest and just cannot compare to the maturity of folklore. If you like the album or if it’s grown on you, good for you i guess.

I hope Jack Antanoff doesn’t touch a Lana album ever again after this project.

I liked the deluxe tracks better than the original tracks of the album with the exclusion of a few songs.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a lifelong fan of Taylor Swift, it seems like she gets better with every album. This album is no exception. The themes are coherent, and the sound makes fans reminisce over past eras - 1989 and Reputation in particular. Personal favourites seem to be anti-hero, as well as Vigilante **** which is no surprise, seeing as they are two of the best songs on the album. Taylor has definitely outdone herself, and this album is something to listen to, even if you don't particularly like Taylor's past albums Expand

It’s just so basic. It sounds like a mixture of folklore, lover, and reputation. Productions are not the best, and it makes it a bit boring. The lyrics and vocals are bot as good as folklore and evermore, but yet they’re still acceptable. Unfortunately, It just didn’t meet my high expectations for it…

This album is freakin awesome. I can't stop listening to it since its release. Definitely deserves an Album of the Year award.

I never loved Taylor Swift more. Midnights is the best thing that happened to music this year

Another Taylor album that is still the same. She has so much more potential than what she put out. All the hype for what?

It allows Swift to do what she has always wanted: make an album for its own sake that is received primarily as a work of art instead of a commercial entity or tabloid fodder.

It is very good. ... There are no major missteps within the album, although not everything works as well as the album’s brightest spots.

While her 10th album doesn’t make instant classic status like 1989, and Evermore and Folklore remain her masterpieces, it is still an understated, beguiling look into the mind of one of the biggest pop stars of our age.
