Same vocal energy during the whole album, too monotonous. Good production though, with some interesting bases. Lyrics are good in general as usual with Taylor. However I don’t think we find something new, I hope it gets better with the visual concepts.

The entire album can be characterized as someone attempting to reach the word count on a high school essay, and then patting their back once they've reached it, neglecting to actually reread the essay upon completion.

Some tracks sound unfinished, and most sound boring. While others may have interesting motifs ('Midnight Rain'), they don't go anywhere sonically, ultimately resulting in an unsatisfied listen.

The 3 am edition, although some better than the 13 original tracks (and this isn't really saying much!), are monotonous compared to the rest of her discography.

Her worst album to date. There are no highs and only lows. Please, go back to the punchy and reflective pop of 1989.

As a swiftie myself, the excruciating wait was beyond worth it, proving that after all these years, Taylor is still a Mastermind, Bejeweled with diamond mines of inspiration, and story writing skills who resemble the ones of the greatest authors of all time. She's arguably a modern-day counterpart to Shakespeare. I do understand that this complex album is not everyone 's cup of tea, with initial reactions resembling the ones during the release of reputation. Similarly, this marks another striking comeback into "Pop", even though one may argue it differs from her previous albums of the genre, such as 1989, reputation and Lover. Surely, her voice and songwriting skills have matured since with the unexpected release of Folklore and Evermore, but the old Taylor is not dead, and will continue to surprise us with her genius mind for ever and evermore... As much as I had wanted Midnights to be a genuine hit, it is literally a sad album in all its phases. Whoever's calling it dark and cryptic has lost their mind, this is literally what a 16-year-old would write after breaking up as they decide and alternate between the feelings of 'oh no my love is gone' and 'who cares, am a bad b!tch'. It genuinely sounds like a bunch of Lover and FolkloreAs much as I had wanted Midnights to be a genuine hit, it is literally a sad album in all its phases. Whoever's calling it dark and cryptic has lost their mind, this is literally what a 16-year-old would write after breaking up as they decide and alternate between the feelings of 'oh no my love is gone' and 'who cares, am a bad b!tch'. It genuinely sounds like a bunch of Lover and Folklore rejects put together just because Taylor hadn't put out an album in an entire year. The vocals on the deluxe 7 tracks are still fine but on the original album, they are just bad and rotten. As for lyrics, I had, with all my heart, soul, mind, believed that Taylor is THAT girl in songwriting, like just amazing in it, but some lyrics like:
"Karma is a cat purring on my lap cause it likes me"
"Somedays I feel like everybody's a sweet baby"
    "Spider Boy, King of thieves'
It's such abysmal writing, I am honestly horrified.

Lavender Haze and Snow On The Beach sound rather fine, but other than that the whole album is like a greatly anticipated movie's bad trailer only, it's like the Junglebook with the graphics of the Junglepeople. Every song seems to build on and on and on, but it never stops building to reach that climax. It can be a beautiful album, she had the chance, but except for the hype that Taylor Swift brings, I really don't think is a critical or commercial success, it's, to be straightforward, plain boring.

Definitivamente é o melhor álbum POP da Taylor.
Ela traz a ritmo viciante do 1989 com a superprodução do Reputation, só que alguns níveis acima.
Além de contar com a coesão do Folklore.
    Já é meu favorito dela

Taylor did it once again. It turns out that she is a true mastermind. Btw 3am version makes it whole.

This is the first album I have loved on first listen. Usually it takes me a couple of listens but this is a pure masterpiece!

I had no idea what this album was going to sound like. And it is literally hit after hit after hit. This is top tier pop Taylor Swift! Loved every second.

AMAZING. Just what the pop world needed, the lyrics, production and everything in the album fits right on her 10th album, huge milestone.

It allows Swift to do what she has always wanted: make an album for its own sake that is received primarily as a work of art instead of a commercial entity or tabloid fodder.

It is very good. ... There are no major missteps within the album, although not everything works as well as the album’s brightest spots.

While her 10th album doesn’t make instant classic status like 1989, and Evermore and Folklore remain her masterpieces, it is still an understated, beguiling look into the mind of one of the biggest pop stars of our age.
