As a fan, I'm not sure if I really liked it. There are EXCELLENT songs (Midnight rain, Maroon, Lavender Haze, Karma, You're on your own, kid), however some of these tracks sound quite the same. Still enjoyed 90% of the album, just disappointed with this one-note production mixed with enhancing lyrics.

Midnights is, without a doubt, one of the best albums Taylor has even written. How she tells her story and still makes the listener relate to it in a way that only she can do is impeccable. Every song is lyrically appealing and profound. She's opening herself in a way she has never done before and it's beautiful.

If you have locked into your mind the media’s idea of Taylor this will be jarring. But if you can accept that she isn’t who she was or who she told us she was - this album is incredible. It feels like her most honest work, musically and lyrically. She’s not trying to do anything, she’s not making her songs relatable to the general public, she’s not changing pronouns, she’s not belting about a broken heart standing in the tower of a castle. She’s just a human, creating music, and putting it into the universe as it was made, no commercialization needed. I love this album. The sound, the vibes, the lyricism, the way she calls out her fans (of which I one) more than once. The way she isn’t afraid to just be silly and absolutely troll her fans with Karma. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it is her best creative endeavor to date Expand

There’s not one song in the entire 20 songs that I would drive and sing to in my car. And that’s the beauty about all of Taylor’s past music, it’s all so good and I can hear them over and over and never tire of them. These songs feel like songs she just co-wrote with her friend on a few casual nights of hanging and drinking but they would not usually make an album….which is exactly what happened. So disappointed!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. LOVED the first 7 tracks. Midnight is basically the pop (mix Reputation hip-hop?) counterpart to Folklore & Evermore. You won't find many earworms melody here, but only supreme lyrics and subdued productions and melody. Perfect for car-rides, chill sessions and as soundtrack for my many existential crises (YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN KID! question...?) Definitely gonna breakdown to this sometime in the future. 3am tracks are good as well: Bigger than the whole sky, Glitch, would've could've should've.

In my opinion, Jack Antonoff really needs to step up his production. Overused production motifs and clashing beats - although I might be a little bit biased here since I'm not really into hip-hop beat. Maroon had sooo much potential with Taylor's songwriting, but I ultimately didn't enjoy the production on that track.

Sonically and lyrically Midnights is the culmination of Swift’s clever songwriting and pop sounds that are classic to Swift with newer and cooler additions here and there. Midnights is the new pop bible.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

It’s soooo boring and it sounds like rejects of her previous albums of folklore and evermore. I wish she would have change her sound a little more.

A beautiful way of telling people how it is to be real. The changes that society is passing made the mental issues more common, and as someone who feels insufficient to be loved in most of the ways, “Midnights” is so relatable, at the same time it's comforting, a gift that Ms. Taylor Swift certainly have.

She always gives something new from her. This is a new flavor but a bit reminiscent with her older works, like how Maroon reminds me of her 2017 album "Reputation" and how the lyrics of You're On Your Own, Kid is familiar with the lyrics from the Fearless TV Album. Overall, the album is a bop. A classic!

"You're On Your Your Own, Kid," "Mastermind," and "Labyrinth" are early standouts, but there's much more on offer here.

The album is a perfect mix of all her work from 1989 to evermore and I'm here for it I'm living and boping and bawling and breathing, the 3am version brought up one of my favorites of all times: glitch. it's so good so catchy I loved to see more of these personal stuggles and feelings of her, I felt like the whole album was a midnight (haha) talk with a close friend and she managed to make every song completely different and still maintaining the overall vibe of the album

such a great artist I love this girl

Please meet Taylor at every Midnights , for evermore.

Honestly, every time the so-called 'music industry' announces a new album I believe in my head many expectations but it never manages to exceed them:( midnights is an album with ‘1989’ sounds and lyrics of network or ‘folklore’ which makes you think that you have already heard it before and it gets bored, in addition to the fact that it reminds you a lot of 'MELODRAMA‘ the masterpiece thatHonestly, every time the so-called 'music industry' announces a new album I believe in my head many expectations but it never manages to exceed them:( midnights is an album with ‘1989’ sounds and lyrics of network or ‘folklore’ which makes you think that you have already heard it before and it gets bored, in addition to the fact that it reminds you a lot of 'MELODRAMA‘ the masterpiece that Lorde and Jack Antonoff made in 2017, Midnights is an album without a particular style. Album is really good! Not her best but not her worst. My favorite tracks on Midnights are Lavender Haze, Snow on the Beach, and Karma! Overall I give it an 8.7 which rounds up to a 9. Looking forward to the new MV!

It allows Swift to do what she has always wanted: make an album for its own sake that is received primarily as a work of art instead of a commercial entity or tabloid fodder.

It is very good. ... There are no major missteps within the album, although not everything works as well as the album’s brightest spots.

While her 10th album doesn’t make instant classic status like 1989, and Evermore and Folklore remain her masterpieces, it is still an understated, beguiling look into the mind of one of the biggest pop stars of our age.
