Madame X is possibly Madonna's most daring album since Erotica. It's intimate, weird, uncomfortable, addictive, soothing, exciting, delicate and so gratifying. It blurs the lines between kitsch and elegance, something no one does better than Madonna.

Aside from the five songs that we have heard so far, Madame X has quite a few tricks left up her sleeve - and to be honest, she's saved the best for last.
Madame X aims to deliver what Like A Prayer and Erotica did so well - wrap you into a sonic think tank that's dark and enlightening.
God Control ticks all the boxes; a smart, catchy, neo disco anthem with a wake up call (literally).
Come Alive is as close as electronica can get to a prayer. Extreme Occident is a solemn reflection with the pleasant warmth of a desert at sunset and when the night falls, Looking for Mercy leaves you gazing in wonder at infinity, without and within.
Lyrically, Madonna's in her element and every collaboration fits like a glove.
It's an album you want to be alone with, behind closed doors... a guilty pleasure, just like every great Madonna album. For someone who's been a fan since 1984, Madame X comes full circle. Thank you Madonna.

Stunning work from Madonna. It’s wonderful how this woman has achieved reinventing herself and still remains among younger generations of popstars. I actually loved find out diverse music genres in here, from fado to disco pop, Brazilian funk and even reggaeton and R&B-trap blending. Such a remarkable album whose coesiveness let it to be enjoyed from track 1 to 15.

Madonna’s greatest album of the decade and one of her greatest in her discography. Mastered to perfection, Madame X takes you on a world trip. Fresh, creative, ground breaking sounds that have nothing to do with current trends. The wait was worth it, Madonna once again has shown who dominates the music world and why there’s only one queen.
    A solid 10!

It is difficult to describe this album. The songs are amazing, different from the records released in the past years, Madonna is a five-star artist and Madame X is a mixture of POP, Latin music, Brazilian funk, disco and so on. It's not a messy record, it is awesome and brilliant.

Experimental, genial e magnífico. O melhor albúm da Madonna desde o Ray Of Light.

Her most experimental and innovative album since Ray Of Light I dare say. It's even hard to explain, you have to experience. No other popstar is the world is doing anything like this. Madonna once again proving to be a real artist. Long live the queen!

If someone did not like this album, there's only one reason for that: this person didn't understand this album. Cause only Madonna could that risc and make such great music. She has latino, portuguese and Africa influences, dance music etc etc etc. It's a piece of art. A masterpiece actually.

Madonna at 60, showing that there is no age to reinvent herself again. The record starts with the fresh, latin-oriented track "Medellin" with colombian star "Maluma". The Madonna on full rage political mode. "Dark Ballet" picks up right after he 1989 iconic canon-song "Like a Prayer" and it leads us to "God Control" (the climax of the record for me). God Control give us 90's Madonna vibes at her best (so does I don't search, I find). Then Madonna takes us to morocco, cabo verbe, Portugal, Brazil. It's really a global album. It finishes with "I Rise". One of her best tracks on this decade. This is a 10/10 album that only a very inspired Madonna could deliver. She gives pop creativity at best and geniality. We live in a Madonna world and Madame X borrows it from her. Expand

Overall, Madonna’s fourteenth album Madame X feels as if Mirwais had mostly completed a decent run-of-the-mill modern pop record, albeit with a cool hotch-potch global feel; hip nods in place to fado, dub and other micro-genres dunked amongst the trap and retro disco. But then just before sign-off, Herself went through the top-lines with a sharpie. ... None of these carefully curated flourishes feel as if they truly live inside the ‘whole’ of this music. Instead it all feels plonked on top of a template.

Madonna has created this music for an audience of one: Herself. Often it works. Sometimes it doesn’t.
