    Taylor Swift shows what she’s best at with this album. Lover is exactly what she needed to return to the top of the pop game, taking Taylor back to her roots of introspective love-themed songs that feel entirely genuine. The political leaning themes are a nice addition to Taylor’s discography as well. “The Man”, “Lover” and “Cruel Summer”’are highlights of what is sure to be an Album ofTaylor Swift shows what she’s best at with this album. Lover is exactly what she needed to return to the top of the pop game, taking Taylor back to her roots of introspective love-themed songs that feel entirely genuine. The political leaning themes are a nice addition to Taylor’s discography as well. “The Man”, “Lover” and “Cruel Summer”’are highlights of what is sure to be an Album of the Year contender.     Taylor Swift was someone that has made some interesting choices throughout her carrer. For me, I wanted to hear something different after her frustrating album Reputation came out. When I heard the opening singles, I was split. I loved You Need to Calm Down, but not a fan of ME! featuring Brendon Urie. Love Panic at the Disco!, but not a fan of that song. A lot of current pop stars haveTaylor Swift was someone that has made some interesting choices throughout her carrer. For me, I wanted to hear something different after her frustrating album Reputation came out. When I heard the opening singles, I was split. I loved You Need to Calm Down, but not a fan of ME! featuring Brendon Urie. Love Panic at the Disco!, but not a fan of that song. A lot of current pop stars have been trying to be relevant in a time when any young person can upload a song and get famous from their one hit, such as Old Town Road. As well as others who take massive chances might not have a carrer left afterwards. So I was worried that this album was going to divide me straight down the middle.

    I'll be honest, this album is great. When I first heard I Forgot You Existed, there was a spark and a moment where this became something greater than advertised. As the rest of the album progresses, she has written her best work in a while. I was ecstatic to hear other tracks that were different that what you would have expected.

    The album is great, but there are two songs that I personally don't like and that's about it.

    Songs I recommend: Lover, Cruel Summer, You Need to Calm Down and The Archer.

    Excellent album. Best release of 2019. Miss Americana, Daylight, Cruel Summer, Afterglow are all to be watched out for! Aesthetically pleasing. So calm and soothing. Perfect sequel after Repuation. Love it

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's kind of cliché to to say this, but it's not even slightly exaggerated to say that this album is exactly what Pop as an industry needed, she single handedly saved the music industry.
    It's a very know fact that Taylor is an amazing songwriter. The way she can put her life lessons into words so beautifully, that the person listening to her music feels teleported into her world and can see the story unfolds right in front of their eyes, is a talent that only a few artists have.
    This is hands down not only 'her' best album but it is 'the' best album of this century if not ever.
    The best thing about this album, is that it cannot be described as one thing only, like some of her previous works.
    This album is mature yet still playful, strong yet still vulnerable, she know what she's doing but she's still experimenting. She captured that perfect essence of love that even some great poets failed to capture. Furthermore you have to give her credits for making a song about 'The Guardian', proving how this industry is full of misogynistic men who can't see a woman in power on her song 'The man'.
    When they couldn't find a single thing to criticize this perfect album, according to them this album has a "problem" because "it's too long".
    Well apparently being an hour long album is an issue for them only if it's from a female artist, because they were very pleased with Drake's album 'Views despite it being longer than Taylor's.

    Swift has outdone herself with her lyrics. She showed that no one out of her peers are capable of telling a story as beautifully and writing them with such grace.
    No it's not fearless, speak now, red, 1989 or reputation. Lover is Lover. One of it's kind!

    I was a little bit nervous about this album, even though Reputation wasn't a fan favorite - it was mine. Its such a good album and I just didn't think an artist can just keep putting out really good records. And yet, here we are 7th album and still such a masterpiece. Even without Shellback and Max Martin - she's proven that the magic sauce was not the producers/writers she's collaboratedI was a little bit nervous about this album, even though Reputation wasn't a fan favorite - it was mine. Its such a good album and I just didn't think an artist can just keep putting out really good records. And yet, here we are 7th album and still such a masterpiece. Even without Shellback and Max Martin - she's proven that the magic sauce was not the producers/writers she's collaborated with - She's the magic sauce and she can work with anyone she wants.

    Taylor Swift proves yet again that she is the master of both writing and singing. The album has 18 tracks, what is more than she ever did, but all are hits and bops. To jump to, scream along with, or just sit and listen in your empty room. There is something love for all kinds of love on Lover. There is something for everyone with this new record.

    the album has a total of 0 skips and is also a love letter to her career of 13 years. beautiful, relatable and raw lyrics. great collabs and an unexpected appearence of annie clark in cruel summer marks how different and mature this album is. may jack antonoff be her songwriting partner for life.

    Lover is a fabulous record, full of super-fun standout pop hits that make your heart burst. It oozes with Swift’s much more palatable upbeat sass. She’s in love and also thinking about different kinds of love.
