    Whilst this is an album that will draw comparisons to the band that made her name, it is a fine, if long overdue, solo effort.

    Guitars and Microphones is right in line with Pierson’s penchant for spiky dance pop, but it’s also a more revealing look at the atomically redheaded siren.

    Pierson hasn’t lost any of the force or heat that’s characterized her vocal work for 40 years; if anything, she’s acquired the ability to enrich otherwise pedestrian line readings with a resonance that feels born of a life well lived.

    One of the BEST albums I've heard in a long while. This one has the lilt of the B-52s party-oriented music, combined with Pierson's ownOne of the BEST albums I've heard in a long while. This one has the lilt of the B-52s party-oriented music, combined with Pierson's own alternative and independent drive.
