    This is by far her strongest songwriting album. The album sounds so different from what she has done, but she already is doing so well in this new genre! Don’t understand why some people are saying all songs sound the same because they certainly don’t. This album may not be for everyone, depending what genres people prefer, but I personally really enjoy this.

    Taylor Swift released this surprise album and is the only positive thing to happen to me in 2020. Each song is like its own story with beautifully written lyrics. Some feel familiar like a different Taylor Era. Some offer a whole new feel. She is a flexible artist and has shown that time and time again. This is Taylor’s best album yet.

    The artistry in the record is beyond everything we've listened from Swift since she crossed over from country to pop music some years ago. Here she goes back to her roots by creating music the best way she knows how to: by herself, with minimal instrumentals and pure inspiration.

I theorized that the album wouldAmong the catalogs of Ms. Taylor Swift throughout her music career, I can definitely say that "folklore" is a unique, different, honest, vulnerable and incomparable album so far. With the hint of the album cover and the texture of the color, I knew in my head it is going to be something unexpected, something in its sound we never heard before from her. I theorized that the album would touch the sound of the indie genre and due to the fact that I [a recent indie-genre addict this quarantine] feel it, just with the album cover and also the tracklist. With the album "folklore", I feel the emotions on every tracks, on how it almost connect to everyone's feeling especially for someone whose been stuck in homes for 4 months [and counting] already and the longing, sadness, and the search for the day that everything will be normal and fine again. I love the fact that Taylor manage and embrace the new sound of hers because it is truly what we needed. We need compassion, support, care, and love in these times of chaos, cruelty, and hardships and she used music to feel those things into everyone of us, with every single tracks. Half of the tracks are made of characterizations and third person perspectives and the rest of the tracks tackles about her life's history and revealing her vulnerable side on her dwellings with her current relationship. The productions are exquisite and well produced and the lyrics are truly calming and comfortable and the cursing never bothers me because it adds flavor to the meaning of the song and emotion. In conclusion, Ms. Taylor Swift literally surprise me, with the new sound I never heard for years and creating an album what exactly the would sound right now and an album that can live on movies and for so many years to come.… Expand

    The whole album shows the maturity of Taylor Swift as a songwriter. People gave her a backlash before and saying her way of writing was too childish, emotional and very expressive. But she proved in folklore that she evolved and grow in her songwriting process.
    I must say, this album is better than Lover, Red, reputation and Speak Now (her past albums that has a cohesive songwriting too) It is her best work so far.
    The whole album has a complex lyrics, creatively written and she still sticks to her writing style, which she uses metaphors and imagery on each songs.She brings magic and sparks to the tracks on folklore. The fact that every swiftie/non-swiftie that listens to the album has a song to claim or a song to relate to.
    Folklore album proved that Taylor is a very flexible songwriter and a singer that can do different genres. She made country, country-pop, pop-rock, synth-pop, mainstream pop and now, she is stepping into alternative and indie music.
    The lyrics, the production, the vocals, aesthetics and the video of cardigan gave everyone the feels during this quarantine and pandemic.
    This album deserves to sweep every awards, especially the toughest and highest categories in any award ceremonies.

And I’m not mad at the music either, it took a few tries on some songs and some songs kinda bleed together and sound similar but other than that I liked the style she was going for. I honestly loved this album and it’s almost perfection, but no album is perfect in my opinion.     Like teetering on the edge of insanity of the mind blowing kind. It makes you aware of every single movement or slight. The thumping of your heart in your ears will not cease, will refuse to cease, because the moment is cathartic. Some emotions are too strong to successfully convey with ease. Words fall short because you're drowning in the depths of that feeling that's lifting your feet off the ground and slowly pushing you over the edge while your ears ring.

    It lasts for a minute, maybe two, and you’ll scramble to feel it, over and over again, but how ironic that you wish to feel that fleeting ecstasy constantly when the reason it is euphoric is its momentary existence.

    Swift's songwriting ability is so amazing. I didn't expect that she will drop an album like this. This album is so cool, yet so warming. The lyrics are such a poetry with melody. I really like this album. Good job, Taylor!

    Some of her best work. I’ve been a fan of Taylor since I was a kid and her music is breathtaking. It is relatable in such a way that you can’t help but listen to it again and again.

    folklore gets better with every listen, and I can't quite find the words to describe just what this album means to me. Having found myself in quite a dark place in the latter half of lockdown, this album is so personal and lyrically sublime, I find myself lost between the beautiful chords and Taylor's mesmerising voice. It has also led me back to Lover and appreciate more that 7th albu,folklore gets better with every listen, and I can't quite find the words to describe just what this album means to me. Having found myself in quite a dark place in the latter half of lockdown, this album is so personal and lyrically sublime, I find myself lost between the beautiful chords and Taylor's mesmerising voice. It has also led me back to Lover and appreciate more that 7th albu, and for that alone I'm incredibly grateful. This will go down for sure as one of the best albums I've ever had the privilege of listening to. It's like it met me where I was at and helped me through the toughest time I've faced. Thank you Taylor for folklore. I'm not sure where I'd be without it.… Expand

    This album freaking slaps. I mean as much as a folk album could slap, it does that. Every song is pretty great on this album or I can at least vibe to it. Cardigan is always a skip for me though, it’s not terrible or anything. It’s just so what you would expect from this album with this production team and stuff like that. But, other than that.     These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
