On the other hand, the metaphors and powerful lyrics (a Taylor's classic) can send you to another world, a place for deep thoughts and reflections.
    "folklore" isn't a mainstream pop album. It wasn't made to be sucessful on streaming playlists, not even made with short songs in order to count more plays.     I couldn’t sit through this album at all. It was boring all the way through. The vocals were off. Even the feature with Bon Iver that I usually like I couldnt get through. Her worst album as of yet. Seems like she’s getting worst at the years go by. Poor girl. Time to retire

    this is truly one of the most pretty and deep albums of the decade (yet we’re still in 2020).
    i just think that’s exactly what we all need sometimes... to relax, to read a book, to cook a meal, to take a shower... this tracklist can be with you in every situation without being annoying. it’s really beautiful and important tender. taylor did a perfect and authentic job.

    Taylor has outdone herself from storytelling and beautiful instrumentation throughout the album leaving Easter Eggs for “Swifties” through and through. In all honesty I came into this with no expectations and was truly blow away. Tip: even if you think a song is dragging...stay for the bridge.

Each song has a story to tell and each song has lyrics to be analyzed for days, with new developments at every listen! Songs like hoax and my tears ricochet are one of the most haunting and beautiful songs at the same time. The use of the piano makes the album rich and beautiful! A job extremely well done

    Her best work to date! The lyrics are so good and meaningful. Sometimes It's scary how much you can relate to Taylor's songs, it feels like she writes about your life and knows exactly how you feel. Exile is definitely my favourite song on the album!

    The musical accompanimentation is hugely underwhelming. I dont care if this album was produced in Lockdown, with limited resources. It just sounds very bourgeois, uninspired and flat. Tailor should have worked with a producer like Daniel Lanois, somebody who is able to create a monumental musical body.    … Expand

    These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
