    Great album but extremely overhyped. Not the invention of the alternative pop genre. The songs are good and the album overall is cohesive but I found it to be lacking variety. Some songs felt familiar to others and lyrics are too cryptic sometimes. Overall an enjoyable experience nonetheless.

    Absolutely a fantastic album of all time. It's unbelievably hard to find a such a quiet album stand out among those pop songs with strong rhythms. Folklore makes my summer better.

    This is my favorite album in 2020. It gave me new hope in a disaster-like year. Folk music took away my pain. I like stories. The lyrics in this album agree with a good book. Take me into a fairyland like a book. Emotions are flooded in the lyrics and melody, making me hurt and touched for the song. A perfect work

    I can't help but be absolutely mesmerized by the careful craftsmanship of every little detail in the songs with interwoven stories between different tracks. Each track feels like a mini movie in my hwad, and each listen makes you pay more attention to the different hidden meanings you may have missed in the first listen. She's the only artist that I know of, who has found that sweet spot between succesful commercialization as well as creating the rooms for discussion about her music. She pays attention to the experience that her fans have listening to her music. And that totally set her apart from the other artists who sometimes get so caught up in the charts and sales that they make their music absolutely un-enjoyable for their fans.
    And Taylor has somehow mastered both of those things. It is something she isn't praised for enough but it's about damn time we put some respect on her name that she deserves. And see her as the legend that she is. ❤️    … Expand

    These 16 tracks (17 on the deluxe version) play out quite pleasurably in their entirety, the joins between Swift, Dessner and Antonoff ultimately only of niche interest. But Swift’s powerful songs reach their climaxes with bittersweet orchestrations, rather than blows to the solar plexus or a ringing in the ears. Everything hovers; little truly lands.
