  1. More difficult to embrace than earlier Grandaddy releases.

Tracks such as Florida and Pull The Curtains... add a Pixies-ish aggression to their signature bleepy country rock. [Nov 2005, p.124]
  3. Blender

    A vehement kiss-off to California's Central Valley. [Nov 2005, p.136]
  4. A goofy, sloppy mini-album, cramming familiar Weezer fuzz, stoned piano ballads, playful analogue synths, and misguided Bad Company references into a little more than half an hour.
  5. Whatever magic they once had appears to have deserted them.
  6. Aside from those two songs ["Florida" and "Pull The Curtains"], however, there aren't many highpoints.

A boring reminder of past work. [Dec 2005, p.104]

Really easy!, Like a friendly ballad with two Rock songs. But it is one of my favorites bands.

i like this a lot because it harkens back to their "under the western freeway" days. i am glad they got rid of some of the polish.

I really enjoyed this little treat from one of my favorite bands. A great teaser for a new album early next year. I will admit that they I really enjoyed this little treat from one of my favorite bands. A great teaser for a new album early next year. I will admit that they really don't uncover any new territory here, they may even step back a little, but that only makes me remember why I fell in love with Grandaddy in the first place.
