I don't know how, but she just released an even better album than folklore... and if you've ever heard folklore, you'll be left wondering how she was able to pull that of... in under 5 months. Essential tracks are (to me): long story short, gold rush, no body no crime, willow, champagne problems, 'tis the damn season, dorothea, marjorie, ivy, coney island, cowboy like me, closure,I don't know how, but she just released an even better album than folklore... and if you've ever heard folklore, you'll be left wondering how she was able to pull that of... in under 5 months. evermore is an art! It is rare to have such kind of album these days that most artist just have songs only for mainstream. Taylor Swift is a genius!!! You can't deny the beauty of this album.

This is one of the best albums of the last 20 years. The lyrics, the sound, the music, the themes, everything is perfect.

As usual! Taylor’s songwriting ability and her calming voice fits magically to the whole album. Storytelling is superb. If I can give more than 10 rating, I will.

Another example of Swift's talent of brilliant storytelling and wonderful lyrics. Evermore feels like a warm hug in the cold month of December, like the fireplace on Christmas.

From Willow to Closure, Evermore feels like a journey through joy, pain, and deep emotions only words cannot explain. Deeper folklore with grappling concepts and heart aching lyricism, this masterpiece might as well earn Taylor her second Album of the Year award at the Grammys in 2020

Inheriting the artistry from its sister record 'folklore', the excellence of 'evermore' should never be questioned by anyone. The album may not please everyone at first listen but it is such a grower that at the end, there are undoubtedly 0 skips. Some highlights are 'willow', 'no body, no crime', 'champagne problems', 'gold rush', 'marjorie', 'dorothea', 'evermore',...

An amazing album, coming for a place in a classics list! This time Taylor explores the world of tales and stories even more deeper, letting imagination flow in every direction, but at the same time keeping one thematic style that keeps a listener engaged in music and lyrics.

Folklore was a stepping stone for Taylor into alternative/indie- pop genre. While Folklore embodies an introverted, solemn and introspective woman with maturity, class and grace ( ref. Meg March), Evermore is a breath of fresh air, embodied by a free, unapologetic and brash woman whose heart is in the right place ( ref. Jo March). Evermore explores a variety of genres while holding on to its Alternative/ indie roots. It is a beautiful literary masterpiece in terms of songwriting and vocals, further embellished with the talents of Bon Iver, HAIM and The National.
To conclude, Evermore is a diverse, carefree yet reserved treasure trove of melodies born from Swift's lyrical genius.
Evermore is surely the lost wayward sister who looked upto her elder sister Folklore as a child, but grew up to pave a different, emancipating path for herself but equally gorgeous and captivating nonetheless, if not more. Evermore speaks from the perspective of people who have seen and experienced the harsh brutalities of life. They have been beaten down by the world, but somehow managed to retain the essence of youth and love for life despite the odds.

Apart from being a fantastic Side B to Folklore, Evermore proves itself to be a masterful compilation of tales and impressionist ideas located deep in Swift's head, personified. It is the tail to Folklore's head. It is a Kamala Harris to Folklore's Joe Biden.

meticulously crafted story songs with experimental (and successful) music. A perfect follow up to folklore. We wouldn't mind getting another folklore sister Taylor :)

It is without question a wintering record, but out of this muted musical landscape songs of great and complex beauty emerge. [Mar 2021, p.34]

Even though we get a catchy moment of goofy, snarling country midway through, the album is a result of the emotional clarity that a year in quarantine provided. Swift has written about curdling relationships splendidly in the past, but there's a new dimension to her writing that wasn’t there before. Onward.

The pandemic seems to have freed her, given her the space to breathe, and has allowed her to produce her most elegant and sophisticated work to date.
