Very brutal but sometimes even interesting. I do not understand who might be interested in such a plot.

Wildly entertaining as long as you don't think about it too much. Great action scenes, plenty of double-crosses. Revenge is a dish best served cold. I enjoyed this movie more than I care to admit, but I sure hope to see something better this year.

Some good heist moments, but it is so poorly paced and (randomly?) messy. Statham is good.

This story falls far short of the best Guy Ritchie can achieve in these fields.

The tone for which he's quite known is there, but this time it feels sullen, somewhat disconnected, and that's compounded by Jason Statham's poor acting range, and the far-fetched script, especially when considering the simplicity of the events that unleashed the main issue.

I wasn't sure I would give it all three stars, but I do it mostly because it works at entertaining despite its details.
However, I can't help but emphasize that Ritchie feels stagnant again, considering that he came from delivering a film as fun and relaxed as The Gentlemen.

There are worse, much worse options in the genre, and although that does not justify its weaknesses, its strengths are enough to differentiate it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. A fun action movie with a lot of actors I like. It just has one big problem.

The finale heist has no exit plan. The characters are fully aware they aren't all going to make it out, but they forget that if even one of them is identified the entire group is going down. These characters are shown to be family men, and are supposedly doing this for them, yet they almost go into this as a suicide mission.

That's where it's stuck with me. Not really (actively) rewatchable with this, to me, glaring plothole.

Shockingly bad movie, nothing like Guy Richies other movies. Horrible acting, terrible dialogue. Very sad to see Josh Harnett come back to the mainstream for such a bad role. Zero redeeming factors, do not watch.

Sadly, this outing has less of the snap and sass as their earlier collabs. Statham plays his typical stern silent type, who’s hired as a security guard for a cash transportation company. Of course, he shocks everyone (but the audience) when his truck is hijacked and he quickly dispatches the crooks. As expected, his real identity surfaces and things get complicated…but not very interesting. There’s an elaborate heist that forms the crux of the last act, but it’s not especially original. Ultimately, a film like this is about the action and this one is unimpressive. Ritchie’s typical sharp dialogue, snappy editing and frenetic violence are in short supply, leaving a bland caper flick with lots of noisy gun fights and a lackluster Statham. Expand

Directed by Guy Ritchie (who also directed Statham in 'Snatch' and 'Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels'), the film pretty much delivers what anybody familiar with Statham would expect from one of his action flicks, for better or worse. In my case, I found the story rather convoluted, confusing, and hard to follow often times, and even during moments where that wasn't the case, the film was too busy being predictable. The film's beats always felt too familiar, with only a few moments of genuine thrill or unexpected turns to be found. Statham commits himself like always to this kind of role, but he's really just playing himself here again. Overall, some exciting shootouts can't fully make up for a predictable but also confusing and scattered storyline. Expand

Good to see less showy, more muscular action but much as I enjoy a rapid dispatch (no speeches always a good thing) I think some of the characters were discarded too carelessly - a shame because they were quite interesting parts played very well. I can think of far worse films to pass the time, but I did prefer Ritchie's previous effort, the Gentlemen. Expand

I do not believe at all that the degradation of action movies comes from their video game origin and in particular from that of shooters. Instead, I suppose they are both satisfying the need for a surplus of adrenaline-pumping violence caused by an increase in the daily stress rate. Directors, actors and actresses adapt to market needs and even Ritchie and Sthatam are no longer an exception.

Худший фильм Гея Ричи в за всю его карьеру. Даже Король Артур был логичнее и веселее, чем этот типичный боевик со Стейтемом.

Lame, muddled plot. Camera shots too dark to follow. Ending is begging for a sad movie to give up. Poor effort of a descent premise and a lazy ending.

It introduces an interesting plot with great music and cool camera shots but is never interesting or action packed enough to keep you from being bored. The first 30 minutes are enjoyable but then it goes into flashbacks for 45 minutes and introduces a completely different set of characters just to tie the story together. The flashbacks over complicate the story to the point that you lose interest. The flashbacks drag with the scenes lasting too long and not really adding much to the movie. In the last 30 minutes it all comes together with a climax that never really has enough tension and mediocre action sequences. I feel like this movie could’ve been better if it was just a fun stupid action thriller about cash trucks or telling the story without spending so long on a random group of characters and tedious flashbacks. I was very excited for this movie but Ritchie’s direction really didn’t serve the concept as well as I hoped. Expand

As a revenge movie, it is rather basic. In fact, it is strangely focused, which is normally not a trait of Ritchie movies - for better or worse. There is still a general air of competence surrounding the production, which is most likely why it had a very split reception from the critics. But compared to Snatch or The Gentlemen, Wrath of Man only offers a rather straightforward action movie experience that is unremarkable. Expand

The plot was moving forward fine, but I was just waiting for the next action scene for something to actually happen. I love Ritchie’s movies. Normally, when you get him and Statham together, you’re going to have a good time. But not so much here. Just bland retelling of the same story you have seen 1000 times. Spend time watching this ONLY when you have finished all your other backlog first. Expand
