I really enjoyed it, was fun and interesting and of course had Weird Al music and his type of humour in it.

So good. It's an aburdist parody full of in-jokes and making fun of biopic tropes. Anybody talking about how there's too much exposition or the writing is cringy or whatever....they're missing the point. Every bit of that is intentional.

Weird is not a bad movie but not a great one either. The story is not a biopic. It contains some truths but is largely, like the songs Al wrote, written over the real biopic. This is not a normal biopic, nor does it seek to be one. Kudos for that.
It's unbelievably goofy but for the sake of humor. It's not trying to be dumb for the sake of it, because believe me, this film could have gone that route without anyThis is not a normal biopic, nor does it seek to be one. Kudos for that.
It's unbelievably goofy but for the sake of humor. It's not trying to be dumb for the sake of it, because believe me, this film could have gone that route without any problem, but it chooses to work under better rules and mostly because its leading man Daniel Radcliffe gives himself completely to the role and keeps everything focused on what this story wants to do and achieves it with astounding ease.

Perhaps ultimately the film will mean nothing, even to his career, but clearly, he continues to prove with work, that his commitment is more than laudable, and his work is the best thing about this film and the main reason to see it for those who have no idea who Weird Al Yankovic is.
Needless to say that if you do know, the movie is a must see.… Expand

Encapsulation of the spirit of Al Yankovic in movie form. Fake reality built on top as a parody of real reality. It does so in such a gleeful and charming way. Sheer ridiculousness and loved every minute of it.

The writing is so bad and the acting isn’t any better. Thankfully, I was able to view at home and use my phone during the watch to keep me occupied. Total **** The writers of this disaster have the maturity of a 6 grader. Harry Potter is just terrible. Every acter is terrible in there role which is probably a symptom of the poor writing. I would give a negative rating of it was possible.

bad writing, with wayyyy to much exposition. The comedy is random and not funny.
example: al as a kid is upset that his father broke his accordion The line that he says is so cringe it literally takes you out of the movie to think who tf wrote this?

At no point ever have I looked at Daniel Radcliffe and thought "You know who this guy reminds me of? Weird Al." And he still doesn't. He basically looks like a guy who dressed up as Weird Al for Halloween. No wait. He basically looks like a guy who dressed up as Weird Al for Halloween. No wait. He looks like Harry Potter dressed up as Weird Al for Hogwarts Halloween.

Apparently Radcliffe was really singing so it didn't look like lip-synching but with Weird Al doing the actual vocals. But it somehow looks even more like lip-synching

Personally I had a brief stint in the 80s/90s where I enjoyed Weird Al. So I found the movie amusing at best. I think you'd probably have to be more of a fan to really appreciate it. The movie itself isn't bad and there's some mildly amusing stuff. I mean it's an ok watch but for me it wasn't something I'll remember in a week and not something I'd watch again.… Expand

A parody of a biopic? Eh, it was funny for about five minutes, and then it just became another movie focusing on 80s nostalgia, of which the film and TV industry has had enough!

At least we got to see some Colombians die!

Very funny for a parody biopic (ikr). Really enjoyed the jokes, first, second and third degree or more! Lots of cameos, and overall very enjoyable.

Daniel Radcliffe carries this movie. He could be the next Leslie Nielsen if he wanted to. The movie never gets too silly like a Naked Gun but I feel it is best when it goes crazy. If you grew up loving Weird Al, you will really enjoy this faux-biopic. It's absurd and jam packed with bits. For the first third you will be grinning and giggling like a fool. This movie is absolutely hilarious. The all star cast does exactly as well as you'd think they would. It doesn't quite have the charm of Weird Al's previous movie (UHF) but it's just as funny, maybe funnier. It has an awesome sound track,This movie is absolutely hilarious. Pretty silly. I like that it was self aware but the whole thing for the malt part is half truths or didn’t even happen. It can be funny at some times and Daniel does a good job at selling the movie. This is the most hilarious Weird Al movie ever...totally should have charged some outrageously priced streaming service (like Netflix) instead of, wait for it, ABSOLUTELY FREE! The benefits really trickle down to the fans...the best part was when Will Forte playing the meaner, nastier of the Scotti Brothers interjects with a tirade that rivals Adam Scott's character in "Step Brothers!" Way to go Al! We all are looking forward to your next production; keep them coming!… Expand
