I'm a big fan of the books. However, the movie did not satisfy me. Harry Potter was great and the Lord of the Rings amazing. What happened with this movie? Well, some of the supporting actors were stiff, the cinematography was awesomeI'm a big fan of the books. However, the movie did not satisfy me. Just like the rest of the girls in America, I was sucked into the cult of Stephanie Meyer. I read all the borrowed books and even bought Break Dawn. I fully enjoyed the series for what it was: fluff. I fully enjoyed the series for what it was: fluff. The problem with some people's view on the film is that they are going to see it expecting gold, or on the other end of the spectrum, crap. This movie fully lived up to my expectations and actually a little higher. Yes I know many people think that Pattinson was miscast and Stewart was "too pretty" for the role of Bella but who cares? Their line delivery was fantastic. Even one of my straight male friends was laughing out loud at points. I will agree however that if you didn't read the book(s) you didn't get the full (for lack of a better word) "experience" of the movie. But that doesn't mean it deserves a 2 out of 10 rating. You don't go to Disaster Movie expecting to be floored by their original jokes and Oscar worthy acting do you? Then don't go into Twilight expecting to see Cohen film and you won't be disappointed.… Expand

Why spend so much on James/Victoria/Laurent when there are so many interesting passages and dialogues that were not shown, or were extensively modified? Either way, Pattinson and Stewart are excelent. Twilight was a very fast paced movie comparing it with the book. The movie should have been longer since fans were hoping for an exact or close to exact replica of the book. Bella(Kristen Stewart) is a vegetarian. At lunch with dad, the pale girl orders a garden burger; with her paler boyfriend, she orders a mushroom omelete. Edward(Robert Pattison) is a vegetarian, too, relative to the fact, however, that vampires need blood for their ongoing survival. Like his brood, Edward only eats animals. Since he's immortal, a four- instead of a two-legged diet, in all likelihood, is an ethical stand that he and the Cullen vampires undertook. For sure, the acronym sucks: VETP(Vampires for the Ethical Treatment of People). Regardless of the basis behind Bella's meatless diet, both boy and girl have this in common: discipline. Bella is the steak that all vegetarians crave when they bite down on some soy-based product. Edward will have to eat a lot of beavers(no pun intended) in order to get through those long, cold nights up there in the northwest. In "Twilight", although no sex occurs between Edward and Bella, the hunky bloodsucker does sink his choppers into the girl's arm. Bella wants him to go all the way. Thankfully, for her sake, Edward has a level head. He unlocks his jaws before any damage can be done. There will be a time, though, when the gentleman vampire won't be able to abstain from his natural impulse to suck her brains out. Bella might get her wish, after all. She's so sure that her future lies with this post-Goth adonis; he's her first love, seemingly. But if Bella finally becomes immortal like her beloved, how will she feel about Edward in a hundred years? Maybe Edward knows this. The girl he chooses will be inextricably linked to him forever. They need to go on a date. None of this flying above the trees nonsense, like "Crouching Vampire, Hidden Arizona Girl". Dinner and a movie, perhaps?… Expand

I have to admit I hate Twilight and what it did to vampires, but the movie was pretty good, if really flawed, I was shocked with how well it turned out, it actually had be looking forward to the next one.

I enjoyed it, maybe because I didn't read the book before I watched it. But overall, I can't wait what the sequel will bring... but until then, I enjoy watching "TWILIGHT" and listening to the score which CARTER BURWELL did amazing!!!!

ok this vampire/romance movie has all the cliche's in any other romance were wolf monster love movie it's like a check list of cliche's us audiences or fans of romance , drama have seen this happen. If you watch these movies as comedies they’re all stone cold 10/10’s but if you watch them like regular movies I doubt if any of them would crack a 5. What's all the fuss about?! It's a rather ordinary story, peppered with a few good special effects and a lot of way too pale skin. The performances are fair, good score and cinematography but it hardly has that "wow" factor.

So I am a: Fan of the book series. Impassive "fan" of the movie. Not as bad as I was expecting it to be. But then again, maybe my expectations were already so low that it didn't take much for Twilight to please me. I feel a new approach So I am a: Fan of the book series. Impassive "fan" of the movie. I feel a new approach to directing might have made it much better. It seemed choppy at times, jumping from one thing to the next. It seemed to lack some good dialogue. Some more dialogue from the book itself could have been added to give the viewer that deja vu feeling of: "Oh yeah! I remember when Edward said that!" I don't like how they made Bella appear *completely* anti-social. Sure, she is supposed to be on the quiet side... more reserved and accident-prone. But her dialogue was awkward, and she came across as someone who didn't want to talk, as if she hadn't spoken in years and was just getting used to the English language again. It was okay overall. I know it will definitely please the majority, if not all, of the tween crowd, but it wasn't enough for me.… Expand

Rowling who is a genuine marvel with a pen, Stephanie Myer just feeds off the lusts of young women, doesnt hold a candle to Ms rowling. However it certainly is still a watchable piece of mindless entertainment, albeit with a pretty annoying charisma free supporting cast (the secondary high school students, secondary vampires were quite interesting).… Expand

It's a decent back story, but the characters are all emo. It's quite annoying. It has potential, but it lacks the excitement needed. And the fact that the vampires sparkle? Seriously? No fangs? These AREN'T vampires... call them something else.

2. Plot/Story line
The story is good, very entertaining and mysterious, it isn't bad but it isn't perfect, it is just good. 6.5/10

3.Soundtrack
The score in this movie is just perfect, Twilight sounds great, and this is the strongest point in this movie, the soundtrack is PERFECT. 10/10

4. Book Based
The dialogue is the weakest point of the movie, it is cheesy and bad, really bad, but you would enjoy Twilight for what it is. 3/10

Maybe you would say I am stupid and I don't understand Twilight as much as you do, but this is my review (my opinion) of Twilight, lets be fair and put hate aside and judge it as a movie.

Still Twilight would be perfect with a bigger budget, but after all...

I hated the book Twilight, so I went into the film not expecting much. The one thing I give the filmmakers respect for was how they portrayed teenagers as they are supposed to be and not how they are on Disney Channel (I hate those bastards).I hated the book Twilight, so I went into the film not expecting much. The acting was better than I thought, and I liked the story. And the first half was great. However, even in the first part of the film, the visual effects were shit. I also hated that the one instrument they used for the film's score was a guitar. There was not enough action in the film and when there was, it didn't thrill me. And the baseball scene was fucking ridiculous. Twilight was a film that I didn't like, but I also didn't hate, and if they change some things around, this could become a great series. But for the Twilight fans, what more can they ask for?… Expand

Movie in no way lives up to the book. Some scenes were semi-entertaining and what I had pictured while reading, but the story was choppy and not at all fluid. i am unsure how to rate this film, because i object to its message. But like the Mac ads; i am still fucking impressed. The desire for blood is just an extended metaphor for boinking. That's silly as heck' variety. I suppose being a guy didn't help. It was unintentionally funny in many scenes, and I minded my laughter for the enraptured audience. Well, eat it up or spit it out. The movie does has decent premise, however there are things that bogs it down. It has horrible paceing by the time these two lovebirds stay together, my daughter will be grauating and her mom hopefully at new house. The acting is kinda of there and not there. This is the big deal that people were wating for what a messs. Even the special effects are not to be considered cool or captivating. The main problem with Twillight is it's trying to hide a sterotype of vampires that includes sex, and violence, and blood on a teenage drama that is'nt really working out.… Expand

I think that the movie was sort of slow with the script. I also think that Kristen Stewart (Bella) was not such a good actor. Same thing with Robert Pattinson (Edward). "Vampires" are supposed to be blood thirsty, so why make a movie about a kind vampire who falls in love and because of this he can control himself. C'mon...it's not that bad. Sure this type of genre is not my cup of tea, but the plot development is solid, there is a mild undercurrent of suspense, the scenery is actually beautiful and the acting is competent. I don't think that KristenC'mon...it's not that bad. I don't think that Kristen Stewart deserves all of the criticism she has received. I might even go so far as to say that she played her role well. I am not a fan of this series by any means. The whole teenage vampire thing doesn't appeal to me. But, contrary to popular belief, I think there are some things to appreciate here. It was bearable. I think people go into this movie exoecting to hate it and just want to piss of the crazy little girls who love it. Its obvious that she can't control herself with random, orgasmic camera movements that are detrimental to their cause: building tension. On top of this she brings out nothin in her ensemble and can't direct action. It's not only budget, there are movie with dirt cheap budgets that pull it off ebcause the director can HIDE the budget if they are good at all. Hardwicke is not good. At all. And I don't care what the slappy's say, when there's a mythology around a being (i.e. Vampires have fangs, and only come out at night) it's a writers duty to simultaneously meet the requirments for the type, and defy boundaries without rewriting whats been previously laid down. This is like a werewolf that doesn't transform on full moons... oh wait, that ends up happening in the next movie doesn't it?… Expand

Hopefully by 18 you'll understand that you're not supposed to drop your entire life and family cause of some young male, especially one that wants to kill you. I literally felt colorblind for most of the movie since, even though colors were present, they were so washed out with post-production that it felt like a high-quality re-envisioning of Blue Moon (which was MUCH more entertaining.) The lead actors (whose names I do not care to remember) were terrible. Stuttering beyond the point where stuttering is still socially acceptable, acting nervous and sketchy, and trying too hard. The vampire "family" was a hilarious and sad joke, and the diamond-skin... thats a serious WTF. The bottom line is this: If you want vampires, read Anne Rice prior to 1998. If you want a sappy teen romance filled with abstinence and drug avoidance and vampires that are socially conscience, don't feed on humans, and can walk in the sunlight, rent this crap.… Expand

Bella: no i don't like the rain, i don't like anything cold and wet (worth noting these abysmal actors stutter their way through the lines, straining at an attempt to portray high school love, but frequently missing the mark and just showing themselves to be poor actors) The plot is nonsensical and horrendous, the support cast don't help at all. And did i mention, the dialogue is awful. Gets a three for the scenes which weren't utterly appalling, and for the unintentionally witty lines (see above) and my personal favourite: Edward: hold on spider monkey (aimed at Bella) not spider girl, or spider woman, or even spider lady, no..... spider monkey!… Expand

This film was really poor, for a vampire film to not use a correct definition of a vampire is a deadly sin; this made the movie as uncompelling to me as possible, there is a difference between innovating and redefining, and twilight crossed This film was really poor, for a vampire film to not use a correct definition of a vampire is a deadly sin; this made the movie as uncompelling to me as possible, there is a difference between innovating and redefining, and twilight crossed the redefining line. A vampire is not a vampire just because it sucks blood; leeches and mosquitos suck blood too. It could of been a lot more appealing with a better cast, Rob said himself in an interview that he wished it had more violence, he's not the right man for the job; someone more sensitive and with a better hold on romance would have been better. I'm finding it hard to find good things to say, but its just too cheesy to comment on, one thing I did like was the small role played by Bella's father(Billy Burke) and Alice(Ashley Greene) but I feel hard to give these value as they are both established actors.… Expand
