The actors are all wooden and incoherent in their role, presenting themselves like noobs who memorize the verses word by word with no meaning or emphasis to it. The story contains the cheesiest dialogue made up of "I love you. (Stare) (kiss) Let's be together" and other kinds of disgusting crap (Vampires....sparkle?). Most importantly, the movie has no in-depth; the character development is incomplete and baffling as well, resulting to a general "whatever" pace of the movie. Oh, and Kristen Stewart? She is one **** spoiled brat we've got there. Overall, like Justin Bieber, "Twilight"'s a fad movie that will attract many teenage romance geeks but repel professional movie critics.

PS: What the **** is wrong with Robert Pattinson? Why is he so white? Somebody give him some blood or something!

It actually wasnt as bad as people made it out to be. The cast is ok for the most part and it was interesting to watch. However there were a ton of stupid scenes in the movie that I couldnt help but laugh at (pretty much anything involving the vampires). Also the lead villians were pretty terrible, Really just minor annoyances rather than villians imo. It was an ok movie suprisingly, I'll give the second film a chance. Expand

I think that the movie was sort of slow with the script. I also think that Kristen Stewart (Bella) was not such a good actor. Same thing with Robert Pattinson (Edward). It's puke-worthy performances and timid script get rid of all the potential this baby had. The producers knew an 'R' rating would make the box office numbers tumble. Good move financially. Bad move for the movie.

I don't think that Kristen Stewart deserves all of the criticism she has received. I might even go so far as to say that she played her role well. I am not a fan of this series by any means. I was really aganist reviewing beacuse I'm scared of my girl. She's a fan of course but, she told me to do it and to tell the truth. Twillight is about a human girl who falls in love with a vampire. The movie does has decent premise, however there are things that bogs it down. It has horrible paceing by the time these two lovebirds stay together, my daughter will be grauating and her mom hopefully at new house. The acting is kinda of there and not there. This is the big deal that people were wating for what a messs. Even the special effects are not to be considered cool or captivating. The main problem with Twillight is it's trying to hide a sterotype of vampires that includes sex, and violence, and blood on a teenage drama that is'nt really working out. Expand

I think people go into this movie exoecting to hate it and just want to piss of the crazy little girls who love it. Kristen Stewart tries to hard and is to melodramatic, but Patinson suprisingly good and charming. Hardwicke is a terrible director. Its obvious that she can't control herself with random, orgasmic camera movements that are detrimental to their cause: building tension. On top of this she brings out nothin in her ensemble and can't direct action. It's not only budget, there are movie with dirt cheap budgets that pull it off ebcause the director can HIDE the budget if they are good at all. Hardwicke is not good. At all. And I don't care what the slappy's say, when there's a mythology around a being (i.e. Vampires have fangs, and only come out at night) it's a writers duty to simultaneously meet the requirments for the type, and defy boundaries without rewriting whats been previously laid down. This is like a werewolf that doesn't transform on full moons... oh wait, that ends up happening in the next movie doesn't it? Expand

The acting was better than I thought, and I liked the story. And the first half was great. However, even in the first part of the film, the visual effects were shit. I also hated that the one instrument they used for the film's score was a guitar. There was not enough action in the film and when there was, it didn't thrill me. And the baseball scene was fucking ridiculous. Twilight was a film that I didn't like, but I also didn't hate, and if they change some things around, this could become a great series. This woman has completely killed vampire mythos in her books and now, unfortunately, by letting a film adaptation be made. This true love thing ONLY exists while you're 14 - 17. Hopefully by 18 you'll understand that you're not supposed to drop your entire life and family cause of some young male, especially one that wants to kill you. I literally felt colorblind for most of the movie since, even though colors were present, they were so washed out with post-production that it felt like a high-quality re-envisioning of Blue Moon (which was MUCH more entertaining.) The lead actors (whose names I do not care to remember) were terrible. Stuttering beyond the point where stuttering is still socially acceptable, acting nervous and sketchy, and trying too hard. The vampire "family" was a hilarious and sad joke, and the diamond-skin... thats a serious WTF. The bottom line is this: If you want vampires, read Anne Rice prior to 1998. If you want a sappy teen romance filled with abstinence and drug avoidance and vampires that are socially conscience, don't feed on humans, and can walk in the sunlight, rent this crap. Expand

It seems it was faithful to the book, but that's not necessarily a good thing. The best scenes were the vampire brawl and the final dance. The majority were of the 'you've got to be kidding me. Not as bad as I was expecting it to be. But then again, maybe my expectations were already so low that it didn't take much for Twilight to please me. I feel a new approach to directing might have made it much better. It seemed choppy at times, jumping from one thing to the next. It seemed to lack some good dialogue. Some more dialogue from the book itself could have been added to give the viewer that deja vu feeling of: "Oh yeah! I remember when Edward said that!" I don't like how they made Bella appear *completely* anti-social. Sure, she is supposed to be on the quiet side... more reserved and accident-prone. But her dialogue was awkward, and she came across as someone who didn't want to talk, as if she hadn't spoken in years and was just getting used to the English language again. It was okay overall. I know it will definitely please the majority, if not all, of the tween crowd, but it wasn't enough for me. Expand

Is it diferent? Yes. Stupid? Yes. Dull? Yes. I would give this a 0 or maybe a 3, but it's my guilty pleasure. I enjoy bad movies. Also, Kristen Stewart is horrible as Bella.

Yes, there are weak elements to this film, but I still find this film to be strangely watchable. It has sort of a Indie feel to it that I actually like. Not that bad of a film in all honesty.

This movie begins very slow, they say notting and they just look into each other eyes. The action is good for a romance movie, but not good enough. This movie is not the worst but to not the best.

It's nothing more than a bunch of mopey teens over dramatizing day to day life. The Vampire aspect really just feels like a forced plot device that could very well have been left out and really not had any impact on the "story". The acting is either bad to average, the script is cliched and has been a hundred times before. Although Shiny Vampires? That was ..... different. Stupid, but at least a slight attempt to do something creative. Overall: Zzzzzzzzzz........ Expand

Granted, there is one cool scene where Edward stops the car, but that's about it. The acting's terrible, the dialogue is ridiculous, and the effects are laughable. Plus, it just oozes that dumb high-school melodrama vibe. It's not the most painful movie to watch out there. There are parts sprinkled throughout that are ok and it's very well shot, but with such a poor script, direction, and acting it ends up just feeling boring and sappy. And couldn't they have made Edward's hair look less ridiculous? It may not be the worst movie ever made, but it's also nowhere near good. Expand

This movie isn't terrible, just not very good. I found it incredibly boring and cheesy for no reason. If you enjoy romantic movies, only watch this if you're really bored :P

(Not a fan) Twilight is not very bad and stupid after all

1. Acting
The Acting isn't perfect nor bad, it is mediocre, no Julia Roberts here or either Brad Pitt is in this movie. But still, in a movie, actors should not be speaking with no emotions, there should be emotions, but the movie lacks the emotions. 5.5/10

2. Plot/Story line
The story is good, very entertaining and mysterious, it isn't bad but it isn't perfect, it is just good. 6.5/10

3.Soundtrack
The score in this movie is just perfect, Twilight sounds great, and this is the strongest point in this movie, the soundtrack is PERFECT. 10/10

4. Book Based
The dialogue is the weakest point of the movie, it is cheesy and bad, really bad, but you would enjoy Twilight for what it is. 3/10

Maybe you would say I am stupid and I don't understand Twilight as much as you do, but this is my review (my opinion) of Twilight, lets be fair and put hate aside and judge it as a movie.

Still Twilight would be perfect with a bigger budget, but after all...
6.2/10 Slightly more than average, just fine.

It is an okay film, the acting is dull and the cinematography isn't that beautiful and it feels a little bit unprofessional. But over all, the film is still somewhat enjoyable. What I feel of the film- meh.

The overwhelming mediocrity of the first installment in the 'Twilight' franchise is an obvious result of the lackluster novel and the film's poor acting performances and cheesy direction.

Twilight had a decent story (would have been a 7), but the acting brought it down drastically. Kristen Stewart shouldn't be casted in any movies where she is a bad actress. Same with everyone else in this.

Twilight has its own particularly fanciful take on vampire lore (especially the 'in sunlight' sequence). However the pacing is off and the direction seems tv movie grade. Despite this, there was something engaging in the cast and heart of the storytelling that kept me engaged. Expand

One of two: you either love to hate it or you hate to love it. The beginning of the famous youth quadrilogy does not get off the ground like Harry Potter or The Lord of the Rings did at the time. It is due to the erratic script and inefficient special effects. To be frank, I prefer to remember Pattinson for his performance in High life (2018) and The Lighthouse (2019). Watered-down vampire romance fluff for a younger audience. Mostly ho-hum; feels like a made-for-TV movie. More mature viewers will likely long for something more substantial. Maybe try Anne Rice instead.
