Now, the movie is fun to watch, but it definitely extends its runtime to almost absurd levels. There's just no tension, no fun or interesting characters you can cling onto, it feels like a documentary that desperately wanted to be a bombasticNow, the movie is fun to watch, but it definitely extends its runtime to almost absurd levels. There's just no tension, no fun or interesting characters you can cling onto, it feels like a documentary that desperately wanted to be a bombastic blockbuster movie, but I just don't see it. Everything's so formal, the most emotion expressed is by the soldiers who are literally burning to death in the flaming oil of their own warships.
There are definitely better war movies, and especially better ones from this era.… Expand
