Why even call the movie Without Remorse if you aren’t going to at least pay homage to the original material? The book was a intense revenge piece about a man done wrong and the lengths he went to for payback. Movie is nothing like the book. Screenplay is not good. Actors are not like able.Just a bunch of action with not much of a story. Read the book, I think it is Clancy's best book.I could not wait to see movie, was so disappointed.

This movie did not feel like a Tom Clancy story at all. Extremely bad acting and horrible casting made it almost unwatchable. 'Navy Seals' with Charlie Sheen and Michael Biehn was a better movie from 31 years ago.

This may be called Tom Clancy's Without Remorse, but it's nothing close to the actual novel. This one has more plot holes than Swiss cheese. Constantly insults the viewer. Just one example: an entire government prison staff conspires to openly kill the hero. Does a single government official say anything? Open an investigation? Not even a remark. Nada. Zilch. Stupid as stupid gets. And it’s like that throughout. The nondescript action sequences aren’t original enough to redeem the plot inanities.… Expand

The should have just made a screenplay of the book and been done with it.
The producers and Amazon achieved nothing by putting their own spin on it and it absolutely ruined what could have been one of the best book to movie translations ever made.
Without Remorse was a massive let down and unless Rainbow Six follows the book closely, its going to be another unmitigated disaster.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. i came into this movie hyped the trailers made this movie seem 100 times more action filled that it was, the movie literally ends in what i felt was a far to abrupt fashion no real lead up i felt like the action was only just starting.

In terms of the story his wife and childs death was so quick i almost felt like it didnt happen there was a slight push of pace there that could've been used to make us care for the character's more.

As far as the character (John Clark): Not only does the movie NOT follow the book, it is a complete contrast to it. Things the author had established related to the character are no longer, rewritten to satisfy certain agendas.

As far as the movie: There have been some real stinkers in this series. Previously, the worst (in my opinion) would have been The Sum of all Fears with Afleck. Surprisingly, this movie sinks even further than that one to take the place of "the worst". The acting is rather weak, the script seems to be just horribly done .


This COULD have been a awesome movie, had they followed the book , kept the characters intact and NOT messed up Clancy’s work . Sadly , they did exactly the opposite. They injected characters that shouldn’t have been, messing with Clark AND Ryan storylines , renamed others and just flat out ignores what was a great book to produce a woke movie… Expand

If someone is looking for a sophisticated action movie, with a Nolan-like plot, you should probably look for something different.
Nevertheless, I think it's an enjoyable movie with a well thought overall pace.

A boring action flick with "diversity." That's literally it. A female SEAL Team Leader? I'm not saying it can't happen, but it flies in the face of current policy. I'm not saying it can't happen, but it flies in the face of current policy. To date, there hasn't been a female service member that has made it through SEAL Training. Not to say it won't happen, I think it will eventually, but in that environment, just being on the team is an achievement, even though you would be the greenest operator. Team Lead? You need a lot of experience to achieve that in what is one of the toughest, if not the toughest, job in the military. No amount of political correctness can take the place of years of operational experience, so to push this **** totally dissipates any credibility this movie could have. The book was great. Clark is an indelible character in the Clancy universe, and to throw that out the window to create this one off action movie is a disservice to the franchise and the character. If they idea is to push for another Clancy show, like the Jack Ryan series, around the Rainbow Six books, they dropped the ball.

We should celebrate firsts as triumphs....so when there is the 1st female SEAL let's celebrate it but no Hollywood wants to tell us that a black woman is a SEAL commander? Itsoffensive to me that Hollywood seems to want to muddy the water on factual instances. Aside from this there has now been a prevalence of TV series and films looking to insert a multicultural cast into historical drama. I can understand it as comedy, but I cannot see anyone accepting say a remake of Zulu where all the Zulus cast are white, or a series or film set in the southern states of the US where all the slaves are cast as white and the "Masters" are black. The actress playing Karen Greer...Jodie Turner-smith has also been involved in a series playing Anne Boleyn.... and whilst it would hardly noticed these days a black person in Europe at the time let alone England would have any chance of holding such station. I want there to be equality for all, male, female and all races from all walks of life but this sort of casting makes a mockery of the struggle to beat racism and sexism. A very good book has been insulted by this farce of a film and I am shocked to see Tom Clancy giving it his blessing. For such a "momentus" inclusion, jodie turner-smith is at best "wooden" whoever told her she could act was being overly kind and she should stick to modelling.the rest of the cast are no more than mediocre including the usually very good Guy Pearce.… Expand

On this first weekend of May, I'm calling Tom Clancy's Without Remorse on Prime Video an early summer movie release. It's got all of the hallmarks: big-named action star (Michael B. Jordan), explosions and gun fights, and a slick look. Michael B. Jordan hasn't really headlined a summer blockbuster like this, so let's see if he makes the most of it.

Tom Clancy's Without Remorse claims to be an adaptation and an origin story of John Clark, a Navy SEAL, who seeks to avenge his pregnant wife's murder after a botched mission leads to some secret operatives coming after him and his fellow SEALs. Michael B. Jordan plays John with a singularly focused intensity to figure out what happened and take out those to took his family. This film was written by Taylor Sheridan, who also wrote Hell or High Water and both Sicario movies - with those movies in his filmography, the expectations can be set pretty high for taut action and twisty storytelling.

Without Remorse gives you all of the action you are promised and then some. There are some pretty cool sequences throughout both on land, in water and in the air. Not only is the action good, but it looks great, too. Also, Jordan is such a convincing action star that it's a wonder that he hasn't been in these kind of thrillers before. I get that all these actors want to be in Marvel and DC movies, but these flicks need capable stars too. Jordan could corner the market like Liam Neesons has in the old-guy-avenging-his-daughter-movies. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the rest of the cast. They are fine but kind of boring and generic. Anyone could have played these characters as there's no real personality. No one stand out positively, so it's barely worth mentioning. They don't ruin the movie, but they don't add anything either.

Lastly, the plot is also pretty generic and a little obvious as these Tom Clancy thrillers go. On the other hand, it does suck you in. There are some many tense moments that occur you forget that you already know where it's going.

Ultimately, Tom Clancy's Without Remorse is worth a summer movie weekend viewing. Michael B. Jordan is the draw here, and he lives up to the promise. The action is great and the movie sucks you in. Grab you big box of popcorn. You won't regret it. (See what I did there.)… Expand

Definitely a great movie, don't get disrupted by those low-score reviews. The action and fighting scene in this movie are just brilliant. Having not read the book on which this movie is based I cannot make any comparisons or comment on how little it resembles its source material. As such, I can only judge Without Remorse on its own, and to be honest it’s the very definition of a by the numbers action flick. It isn’t completely terrible by any means, but not even the usually excellent Michael B Jordan can elevate the predictable plot or fairly forgettable action sequences above mediocrity. Judging by the post credits scene it seems as though the creators may be trying to set up a series of films, based on this I can’t say I’m all that interested...… Expand

Maybe turn this on if it's a dull Sunday afternoon where you otherwise have nothing better to do. Other than that, I'd recommend skipping it entirely.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This film fails to grab you, or make you care about any of the characters.

I will say for an attempt at demonizing Russia, all the Russians in this film have done everything by the book, with equal measure of force against the CIA/SEALs, they are not the protagonists of this story. It's just a shame they didn't put it in the Russian perspective.

"CIA murders Russians in illegal occupation of Syria, Russia responds by attacking SEALs, Rogue John Kelly/Clark, SU-57s see through disguised civilian airliner that was commiting an act of war and shoots it down." etc. etc.

The film loses me when John Kelly decides to commit acts of terror on Russians, they somehow decide it's justified to do for the sole purpose that "SIX" has to get out of Russia alive, and some shadow deep state required them to start World War III... WHAT!?

Tom Clancy was a Russophobe and this film fails to make you feel anything but contempt for the USA, so if that's it's intentions then it's serviceable, but completely not what Clancy would have wanted. The failures of the director & subsequently the writers are evident when they could not make you like the supposed "protagonists" even if they are clearly the enemy.… Expand

First of all an action thriller
there is no exception in action. Same old action. There is no gossebump moments in the action.
