While I'm glad some people enjoyed it, I cannot recommend it. Give it a try, you might like it, but probably won't.

McCarthy and Spencer have no chemistry. That may be in large part do to Octavia absolutely phoning in this performance. She's a FAR better actor than she is in this. 1/3 in and still no fights or laughs, which as an "action comedy" you'd kind of expect. McCarthy does her best, but her FAT-LADY-FALL-DOWN running gag stopped being funny a long time ago. The film also has a serious issue with logic too. The "miscreants" that get powers activated are also violent psychopaths... okay, but that doesn't really explain why they're a problem? Like, they have powers sure, but it's not like they're bulletproof. Why can't the police just, you know, shoot them. The movie is full of logical inconsistencies like this.

The costume design is also, let's be real, is just terrible.

A lot of people in these reviews are very much coming from dishonest people who straight up do not want movies staring plus size women and women of colour. The reality is though... it's just bad. It's just really, REALLY bad.… Expand

An action/adventure film with little action/adventure and a comedy thats not very funny. Melissa McCarthy needs to find herself a new husband!

I cannot find any amusement on an obese person trying to make us laugh (let alone two of them).
Melissa needs help to regain a healthy body, so does the other chick that plays the scientist. The visuals are nice and the dialogue is acceptableI cannot find any amusement on an obese person trying to make us laugh (let alone two of them).
Melissa needs help to regain a healthy body, so does the other chick that plays the scientist. The visuals are nice and the dialogue is acceptable for a family movie on Netflix. But It is not funny to laugh at obese people, in the same way it is not funny to laugh at blind or disabled people.
Melissa please seek help.

Do the executives at Netflix not like money? Or is this some new strategy to make the other B-level content look better by comparison? Who casted this? I mean, they couldn't find anything better than fat and genital joke comedians?

Complete waste of time. No logic in these characters having multi-million dollar genetic treatments to give a couple overweight 50 year old women superpowers. Ugh. Crappy acting and rubbish story line. Avoid like the plague. Watch paint dry instead, much more interesting.

This movie is so bad you can see various actors in the movie reacting to the low-brow low-quality cringe. Its in their faces. They know when filming it it was a big mistake.

Thunder force has no thunder for a comedy about improbable heroes. The story just copy older McCarthy movies but with unfunny humour. The jokes are childish, sometimes of bad taste. It's pretty bad when a movie is so predictable that it leaves no sort of amazement or even entertainment for the viewer. Melissa McCarthy is just getting way too type cast. This film was all I needed to determine that McCarthy's career may very well take a nose dive if she doesn't start dipping her feet into some untried waters! She's getting older, and we can see her aging in this film. She's gotta try something new.… Expand

Hollywood didn't do the "Woman are funny" community any favors with this atrocious pile of trash. Only reason I even gave it the time of day is because I was on shrooms with the boys. I want to cancel my Netflix account just because they thought releasing trash like this to people that willingly give them money for their service was the right thing to do. Please don't watch this. Melissa McCarty sucks, this movie sucks, and Netflix sucks for subjecting us all to it. 3/10. and that's being generous… Expand

One or two jokes were actually funny, rest were not. Kept waiting for it to pick up, but was mainly bored. A real shame.
