Thor: Love and Thunder is like that filler episode in the middle of a great series you are watching. You can love it for the story it does tell, or hate it for not progressing the overall story. I loved it.

It's great, funny, not overly woke (but there are a couple of retconned pointless moments) It's funny and has a decent storyline with a great cast. Did I mention it is funny?

It's the film equivalent of 80s hair metal. The perfect mix of comedy and action. Finally something in the Marvel universe that was completely cookie cutter.

This is a hard film to review. I’m not sure what it is about Thor L&T but I just didn’t find it that funny. I felt like they tried so hard to push jokes out and they often didn’t land with me. I think there were too many jokes right at the start, it became obvious that the dialogue only served for humour reasons and because that failed to land with me it took away any storytelling or narrative immersion. The film is still entertaining and it definitely gets better by the second act, even the comedy improves once ‘Jane’ is introduced into the story alongside Thor. There are great action scenes and the film definitely doesn’t feel too long. I think it’s the perfect length. The villain is the best part of the movie, Christian Bale portrays his character extremely well. I will say, it felt very clear that Natalie Portman had only been contracted for one marvel movie. Immediately we are met with her character in a terminal situation which implies she won’t be returning after the movie concludes. Maybe they could’ve made it a little more subtle.

Overall, this movie is alright. It’s funny at times and has enough action to remain entertaining and compelling, with some neat cinematography here and there, but not the greatest marvel movie I’ve ever seen.

It’s a cute movie that is more like a Christmas special, than a fully fledged epic Thor adventure. The tone of the movie balances itself out in the second and third act, even though I personally didn’t mind the first one, only because of the characters’ chemistry. I love Taika and I hope for his next installment he brings more gravity and less levity, or just to balance it a bit better and focus more on the story beats. Expand

Lately, Marvel movies haven't been reaching the quality they once did, so I wasn't expecting anything special, and that's probably why I'm not disappointed in the finale. It went by pleasantly quickly because there was a lot of action, which I thought was pretty epic in places, but there's just one catch. Story-wise, it's not such a joy anymore. There is a lot of humour. A lot. That's a classic with Marvel movies, but here there's perhaps I would say a little more of it. I generally don't like a lot of jokes in superhero movies. I prefer more serious superhero ventures, like Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, but that's beside the point. There were several times in the story where one character was speaking to tell the story and that bothered me. I don't like it much and rarely like it, but sometimes it's cool, but here I didn't like it. Then as I mentioned the humor is really over the top here, which wasn't my cup of tea either. I don't want to spoil, but story-wise it wasn't a total win either. Well it was saved for me by the aforementioned action, which I enjoyed and which Marvel can and probably always will, except for Eternals. That was pretty damn weak in my opinion and Thor: Love Like Thunder is still fine in comparison. So, for me, a good movie that although I would recommend to Thor fans, I might not after all because it gets quite the hate. It's hard to say. My friends were really disappointed with this movie. I'm satisfied though and for me it was fine. Expand

Laughed out loud several times, unexpectedly teared up a few times, enjoyed the action sequences, and the ending made me feel nostalgic for great 80s kids' adventure movies. Delightful cameos, great chemistry between the main actors, and beautiful sets. I really enjoyed the whole thing and it's the first Marvel movie in a bit that I've wanted to watch again immediately. I'm not sure if this is the end to Thor's arc in the MCU, but if it is, it's a satisfying one. Expand

The fact is the film's strength / weaknesses have always been there: its' strange mix of irreverent humor and pathos have always been Waititi's tone in Ragnarok. Kudos of course its new interpretation of Thor, a direction that Hemsworth has championed since Ragnarok. It has made the character more of a comedic relief and hence, he is sidelined in his own movie, with other characters doing the heavy, dramatic lifting on his behalf. Other than that though, it's a pretty good addition to the MCU, but not up to par with anything that Phase 3 has concocted in the past. Expand

First off, Christian Bale is terrific in this. I don't think I've seen him chew up this much scenery since "The Fighter." There's also a set piece involving his character midway through the movie that I think really fires on all creative cylinders (visuals, choreography, performances, etc.) I only wish the rest of the film maintained the feeling of that sequence. "Love And Thunder" finds the MCU at its most tonally confused since "Iron Man 3," limping by on some truly weak character work within the titular protagonist. We're constantly told that Thor's issue is that he keeps everyone "at an arm's length" and that he's unwilling to attach to others. I find this pretty rich, considering the fact that Thor has always maintained an air of emotional availability to me. Honestly, I'd say he's probably one of the top three Avengers I'd want to hang out at a bar with. The starting point of this whole arc felt like something better suited for Black Widow or Hawkeye, not the guy who we've seen greet an old "friend from work" by screaming "yes" through an open-mouthed smile. I digress, of course, but this is really just an encapsulation of the kind of issues we're dealing with in a screenwriting sense. Overall, this isn't a bad movie. I don't even think it's the worst "Thor" movie. The humor lands 7 out of 10 times, let's say. The ending is mostly satisfying. There is, however, a lot that I think could have been hashed out in the writer's room. Expand

Watching this made me realize how much of Ragnarok was an accidental success. Taika has made a mess here throwing a mass of sketch comedy ideas at the audience in the early first half. With marvel no longer riding the coattails of a successful run of films, the weak effort in the writing of this film this really stand out. Also throw in a tonal mess flipping from ridiculous to serious and add in some woke-ness for good measure (is it really necessary to sexualise so many characters in an action adventure film?). I actually liked it first and was leaning towards an 8/10. Then I noticed more and more flaws. Lets start at the beginning. The Thor movies were a staple and the previous movie Thor Ragnarök was the best of them. So we all were happy that director Taika Waititi returns. However phase 4 of Marvel is a bit divisive to say it mildly. It taught me and my friends not to watch the movies in the cinema without consulting reviews by trustworthy critics first. As the reviews came in it looked like a disaster. So I waited until it came to Disney+. After the introduction of a character I wont spoil it follows the set up of Avengers Endgame were Thor travels alongside the Guardians of the Galaxy. However he has some sort of a midlife crisis when he gets an emergency message. Someone is on a quite successful journey to kill all gods in the universe. This is the set up. They use a famous story arc from the comics for this and I hesitate only to say the comics are better because of Christian Bales great performance. While the story is decent to good the characters feel a bit weird. Thor behaves a bit strange and also Jane and Valkyrie feel sometimes forced into character changes that are not explained well. Don't get me wrong I like both the characters and actors. The cast with Chris Hemswort, Natalie Portman, Christian Bale and, Tessa Thomson are great. Also I like all the children and cameos in the theatre scene. The fights are amazing and the final battle is quite entertaining. Never underestimate a bunch of …. The humour was the most divisive part in other reviews. A lot of people say the use too much humour and it drags the movie down. I disagree as it was not that overburdened for me. However not all jokes are good and this drags it down a little but to be fair there are some incredible humorous and entertaining scenes. The special effects are top notch as always. The sets and costumes mostly deliver and I would praise the movie in this regard. The negatives are that like I said the characters are a bit strange compared to before, the story they follow from the comics is better and I do not like a bit of the arcs and developments. Overall I am a bit divided. The more I think about the movie the lower my rating goes. It tricked me not enough into making me believe its awesome. I give a 6/10. Expand

Remember this is the guy who made Hitler a goofball imbecile in Jojo Rabbit. Imho Love & Thunder doubles down on its comical humor and visual swag. It’s fireworks and popcorn all the way. Acting: 9
Plot: 7

The adventures of Thor Odinson continues with the twenty-ninth instalment of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In addition to characters returning from 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, Jane Foster who previously appeared in 2011’s Thor and 2013’s Thor: The Dark World and absent in the previous movie, made a return in this movie with the power of Thor.

After the events of Avengers: Endgame, Thor (Hemsworth) and the Guardians of the Galaxy received a distress signal from Sif, who fought against Gorr the God Butcher (Bale). Going their separate ways, Thor finds her where he learns that Gorr has the Necrosword which has the power to slay a God like Thor himself and his goal is to kill all Gods.

Meanwhile, Jane Foster (Portman) have been diagnose with a terminal cancer and do not much time left to live. Hoping to find a cure, she travel to New Asgard where she finds the broken Mjolnir. Later that night, Gorr and his Shadow Monster attacks New Asgard and Thor arrives in time to battle him. During the battle, Jane, who now has the power of Thor and wielding the Mjolnir, joins the battle with Thor but Gorr successfully kidnap the children of New Asgard and escape.

Thor along with Jane, Valkyrie and Korg travel to Omnipotence City to seek help from Zeus and the other Gods to help create an army to fight against Gorr before he kills more Gods and end their entire existence.

If I were to compare this movie with Thor: Ragnarok, this movie is kind of a letdown but still not too bad. For one, the pacing is not really good and I felt the movie is rushed which kind of explain why the movie is on nearly two hours. Although the plot is fine but I felt it could use some improvement. The humours in this movie is also a letdown. There are not many funny scenes in this movie like in the previous movie which is kind of disappointed.

Due to shorter runtime, some of the characters did not have enough time for character developments. For example, Gorr is supposed to be a threatening main villain in the movie where he kills Gods but the movie only shown very little of it. There are not much of screentime for him either. Jaime Alexander who reprised her role as Sif, return in this movie but she is totally underused in this movie and have very little screentime.

Despite the bad parts of the movie, the casts did a splendid performance especially Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Christian Bale. Natalie’s performance in this movie is a huge improvement and better than her performance in the first two Thor movies. It is really great to see her character again and Natalie still got it. For Christian Bale, he played a really great villain which reminds me of his role as Patrick Bateman in 2000’s American Psycho. Chris Hemsworth still plays Thor well without any sign of degrading.

This may not be the best Thor movie but at least, it is not like Thor: The Dark World. The movie is not too bad but not too good either. It is still an enjoyable and good entry into this movie franchise. Do stay back for mid-credits and post-credits scene. There is one underrated character from the comics shows up which I do not expect at all.

I expected a bit of woke, but I honestly didn't get that out of this story. And while yes, it was more humorous than even Thor: Ragnorok, it worked for me. It was very funny to me, very entertaining, gorgeous to look at, and I very enjoyable. Even the kids stuff wasn't overbearing. The real highlight was Christian Bale in the interviews for this. You don't normally get to see too much of who he really is, and that one incident (on Terminator Salvation, which I actually agree with him on, despite how he handled it), has haunted him. He's actually delightful and a breath of fresh air, because he genuinely doesn't seem to give a **** Overall I highly recommend this. I guess because it takes the piss out of the false gravitas of the MCU, it's not a favorite, but it and Ragnarok, and Infinity War are my favorite MCU movies. Too bad Waititi said he's dropping out after this. He will be missed. Expand

I liked Thor Love and Thunder a lot, it had a lot of great and even surprising scenes, but despite all that, I liked the predecessor a little bit more.

I was really amazed which figures you get to see here, which also gives a great view for the future. The antagonist was also well chosen and quite stylish. Bale does it really well too.

But here and there I was a bit overwhelmed or one or the other joke just didn't work at all. Thor 3 had made a rounder impression and ultimately entertained me even more.

But Thor delivers again and after the She-Hulk torment it was a pleasant Marvel trip again. 4/5 flashes 8/10

I enjoyed this movie. I know it is lambasted for being tone deaf at times and not finding the balance between humor and drama....but I didn't find it too bad.
While it does have a lot of comedic moments, it does know when to take itself seriously, especially towards the climax. The villian and emotional core of the movie still resonate, and I don't think it deserves the critical reception it has received.
Sure, the actual plot is very simple and it does little for the overall narrative of the MCU Phase....but so do most current MCU movies. As a stand-alone film it's funny, entertaining and does contain a genuine and heartfelt message.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. One of the major problems I had with the movie was the comedy. Yes, the movie was funny, but it felt like it was trying to input comedy at every possible chance it got. This doesn't necessarily fit into a Thor Movie, especially when the antagonist of this film is Gorr the God Butcher. I had expected this movie to be a little bit more dark and serious than most Marvel Movies, and instead it ended up being trying to be more comedic then them all. Whenever there were any scenes with Gorr, the movie shifted to a more serious tone all of a sudden. The set pieces and designs of certain scenes looked amazing, and the movie had a bit of a nice smooth flow going. The soundtrack was phenomenal. But the ending really had me thinking, "What the Hell?" Basically, in the ending Thor recruits the help of a bunch of Asgardian Children that Gorr had kidnapped, giving them the power of Thor. this scene literally had no importance in the plot whatsoever. Its really clear it was only added there for comedic value. Gorr was significantly nerfed when compared to the comics. He was supposed to be the toughest villain Thor had ever faced. Instead, Gorr feels like another random, One Movie Antagonist, that was wasted. King Valkyrie was also underutilized. In Ragnarok, she actually had a purpose to be there. In this film, it feels like she's just there to be just a side character who helps fight the bad guy. Chris Hemsworth does an excellent job of playing Thor, and Natalie Portman was great too. Christian Bale, as is to be expected, was phenomenal. The action sequences were cool, and might as well be some of the best in the whole MCU. There were some big hiccups in CGI though, such as when Heimdall's son appears as a floating head, that looks like a filter edited into a youtube video, not exactly the quality you expect from Marvel. If it had just taken an approach similar to Ragnarok, and tried to include some more seriousness instead of as much comedy, it would be a 9/10 at least. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Fui assistir o filme e assim estava MUITO haypado.

Taika Waititi’s background as a painter can be seen throughout the film, through the use of a vibrant color scheme and specific tint isolation. This is incredibly aesthetically pleasing and, quite frankly, nothing that the Marvel Cinematic Universe has shown us before. Matched with a rocking soundtrack -- Appetite for Destruction from Guns N’ Roses, Thor: Love and Thunder is quite literally an “appetite for destruction.”

Thor: Love and Thunder picks up after the events of Avengers: Endgame. Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is still tagging along as one of the Guardians of the Galaxy. After all his paths have been severed from his battles with Thanos, he finds himself without a pathway. In all of his thousands of years of living, this has never been a concept that Thor has had to tackle. This puts him on a journey of self-exploration. Although, obviously in the Marvel Universe, that can only last so long when the new villain Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) comes to town. Gorr vows that “all gods will die.” Thor recruits the help of his ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) who seemingly became a Thor herself. These two learn to work together to defeat Gorr and how to navigate the world while rekindling their old relationship.

Thor: Love and Thunder emphasizes the idea of “love” in the title because that’s how audiences will feel about the film’s color variations and banging soundtrack. Christian Bale completely steals the entire show as Gorr the God Butcher. In every scene he is in, your eyes are glued to his worldly-like presence on the screen. Although he is terrifying, the audience will not be able to get enough of him. Christian Bale finds a way to make this a Christian Bale film and not a Chris Hemsworth film. As much as Gorr the God Butcher’s storyline is golden, which is ironic given his black and white color scheme, other branches of the film feel unnecessary. During the film, certain plot points are used that feel somewhat like a cheap excuse to move the story forward. The characters spend a solid 30 minutes exploring something new, yet later we learn that it has no overall impact or relevance to the story. Part of the film is wasted on the focus of Zeus. It may be comedic and light-hearted in the moment, yet it almost feels like it is only introduced to help set up future Marvel projects, rather than focus on the film we are currently watching.

If the title doesn’t make it obvious, the film deals with the theme of love persevering and expresses the concept that relationships aren’t forever, but the love behind them is eternal. Following previous Marvel content Thor: Love and Thunder continues the trend of pushing PG-13 boundaries and getting darker. When I say that Christian Bale is incredibly terrifying, that is really true. Marvel does not hold back on his character, especially when a large part of his role is about abducting children. Given that, plus the barrel of intense action throughout the film, this film is not to be taken lightly. I give Thor: Love and Thunder 4 out of 5 stars and recommend it for ages 12 to 18, plus adults. You can find Thor: Love and Thunder raining its way into theatres on July 8, 2022. So make sure to check it out! By Jude A., KIDS FIRST!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If i'm honest, the end is the thing that justifies this rating, it's amazing how from the black and White parte to the ending there are the only that's good, and I was so satisfied when the movie ended. The villian is the best thing from the movie, and it's taken seriously from almost all the movie. But, the fest of the movie is absolute dogsh*t, the humor is trash and the other best character (Jane) is flirting with Thor ffs they were couple for 2 datos man, how can they be so annoying. The other caracteres that interested me were the GotG, and they only are on the first 10 minutes even thou they were on the trailers. Also, special mention to the **** goats they are the most unfunny, stupid and annoying thing on the film, all because the people un Marvel thinks that **** is what makes people laugh. Also, I don't know why people say that Jane should live, because it's a message to Gorr seeing someone related to a god dying that made a good thing for her daughter, that is the opposite to the god from the start, and it would difficult the development of the MCU with such powerful Hero (also It happens the same in the comics). Honestly, I think that you should try to not to rage with the ****ty humor because, overall, the good thing outstand the bad things, and the música they choosed is just epic. Expand

It is clearly aimed at children with constant jokes throughout the movie. Length is surprisingly long with very few action scenes and the few action scenes there are pale in comparison to the ones from the previous Thor movies. The villain is an interesting idea that was executed very poorly in this movie. For a so-called god killer you really don't see him killing any gods except for one but it was very comical and very child-like like something you'd expect from a kindergarten school play. I feel they wasted so much time on someone's illness that could have been better spent by showing us the villain actually killing some gods. 5/10 a decent watch with your kids, not really worth watching otherwise even if you're a fan of Thor. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Gute Unterhaltung.

Ansonsten Top! Gute Unterhaltung :)

--

Good entertainment. It bothers me that you don't actually kill Zeus and just steal his 'tools' just like that, but the whole popcorn drama seems infinitely approachable and wonderfully warm-hearted. Another kudos to Kevin Feige for creating yet another fine digital flick from the Marvel Comics.

A bit more tech: The German streaming soundtrack may work well on a tablet, cell phone or mid-range soundbar, but it seems a bit too 'compressed' for a noble high-end home cinema (Arcam - Dynaudio) (Note: Here is another test, when the standard UHD is released). You need a lot of power amplifiers to let it 'rip' halfway here. Furthermore, the picture format of 21:9 is extremely outdated and requires up-to-date scanning (16:9 or better IMAX). Finally, I feel that this Marvel film doesn't mesh very well with the rest of the films. Otherwise great! Good entertainment :) (Google Translate form german)

It's dialogs is sometimes appalling. In fact all the middle section is atrocious and the Norse mythos are just horrible. Why we don't see Bale, actually killing Gods, but only the aftermatch, is just stupid. In that sens Bale was a waste of talent. Putting Portman in full makeup when in Thor is also distracting, because it's pretty bad. At least you get some very touching and action moments in the ends. That redeem the middle section. The music was fine, but I didn't like the recycling of the same rock song. I give the movie 62% mainly because this story is broken in the middle and the characters dialog are just too bad in so many places. And many of the jokes don't lands very well. Expand

I'd say it's a fun movie albeit forgettable. Thor is still a great character but it isn't enough to carry the movie.

The elements the movie use to move the (bad) plot are pretty lazy, such as how Jane becomes Thor or how Thor 'leaves' the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Gorr wasn't that great in HQs and he isn't anything at all in the movie. He is not menacing, his motivations don't really make sense considering how the plot moves.

The most promising arc (the god city thingy) is just thrown away by the famous naked-Thor scene, being solved in 10 minutes and not showing anything at all.

Lastly, the movie tries to build a "relationship" with Thor and his axe, and that is too thrown away in the end, along with all the development he had since Infinity War. Oh well.

The first Thor movie was an okay introduction and the second one was quite bland. In came Taika Waititi with Thor Ragnarok (2017), who made Thor a charismatic and fun character. Thor Ragnarok was no doubt one of the funniest and most enjoyable movies in the Thor franchise so far. It was no wonder that I was looking forward to Thor Love and Thunder when it was revealed Taika was returning as director. So did Thor: Love and Thunder deliver more fun or was this a big thundering step backwards?

Firstly, Christian Bale was phenomenal as Gorr, the antagonist, in this film. He delivered an amazingly unsettling performance that made him incredibly creepy. He also delivers on the sorrowful moments as well that make him very sympathetic. Amazingly, he can be both frightening and yet kind of root for him. Natalie Portman finally returns to the Thor franchise as Jane Foster after being absent in Ragnarok. Her return is very "mighty" as she isn't just a doctor that is around but now a hero in her own right. It was great seeing her return and it's great to see that the chemistry between her and Thor (Chris) is still there. She has her struggles to deal with it and Natalie does an outstanding job of conveying the pain that she is going through. Chris and Tessa return as Thor and Valkyrie respectively and they are still great. Taika is still fun as the rock person Korg. Russell Crowe is pretty enjoyable to watch as Zeus as well. The whole cast did a great job in their performance.

I also like the themes that are explored in the film. The exploration of love is a running arc for Thor throughout and I liked seeing him try to find "himself". There is also the theme of death in both Gorr and Jane's arc. It is handled wonderfully in both and I liked the resolution to it all as well. Legendary composer, Michael Giacchino, gives a colourful and bombastic score that works well for the movie. He also incorporates some great use of songs, similar to Guardians of the Galaxy, such as "Sweet Child o' Mine" by Guns N' Roses that just mesh well in the film. There are some pretty enjoyable action sequences but the most memorable is in the second act. There is a fight scene in the shadow realm that is just visually oozing with style.

Unfortunately, the comedy in this movie does not work. I just found the comedy in this movie to not be that funny. Ragnarok had some laugh-out-loud moments but Love and Thunder just never get those types of moments. Additionally, a lot of the humour comes from Thor being an idiot. In Ragnarok, he was a lot more comedic but he had an arc and an important decision near the end. Here he is just a comedic idiot throughout and he never gets that sort of big decision as he did in Ragnarok. He does have an arc but it's very weak. It's genuinely a shame that the titular character has been reduced to a joke in his film. On that note, the comedy isn't as prevalent as it was in Ragnarok. Ragnarok was a comedy throughout with some strong serious moments sprinkled in. Love and Thunder mesh half a comedy and half serious and this tonal clash hurt the movie. The serious moments are when the movie is at its best but then a dumb gag happens and damages the moment.

Christian Bale is the standout in this film but his character Gorr is barely even in the film. There is a whole middle act where he just isn't even there. He is also called the God butcherer but we don't even see him on screen actually butchering a god which is such a shame. Gorr needed more screen time to flesh out his character and show why he is a threat to the gods. They also don't show why Gorr killing gods is bad. There is one scene implying negative consequences but we don't see it either. This creates a problem where it feels like there isn't much at stake in the film even though there is supposed to be. The film just doesn't have much weight to it. In Ragnarok, Odin's death was meaningful, the brother's conversation was meaningful, Valkyrie's decision to help was meaningful, Thor embracing the God of Thunder was meaningful, and Thor letting Asgard blow up was meaningful. Love and Thunder just lacks a lot of these apart from one thing at the end that isn't even Thor. Overall, Love and Thunder is pretty disappointing. I expected something that was like Ragnarok but instead got something that felt like an attempt at Ragnarok. The comedy wasn't as funny this time and there are a lot more serious moments this time that is great but makes the comedy feel more jarring as it interrupts the moment. However, it is not downright terrible as there is enjoyment to be had here. It's just not a great Thor movie and definitely not as good as its predecessor. It's just okay and after over 20 MCU movies, okay just isn't good enough.

And then the rest happened...so inconsistent in tone, no cohesiveness between the scenes, plot loopholes - a lot of things just didn't make sense or were stupid in a bad way. The fight scenes were also dumbed down multiple times which were disappointing.
On a positive note I do have to highlight the visual effects, the humour and Christian Bale's performance, and I would like to nominate him as one of the top 3 best villians in MCU.

Unaccetable. It seems an enourmus parody of itself. 2 hours of complete demential comicity that make you think it isn’t a real Marvel movie. I don’t know How they could do that.

This actually made me tired of all the 80s throwbacks that are force fed into your faces. Felt like a kids movie, and if that was the case, then it is fine, but I think even kids will think this is too corny of a rendition. This wasn't even funny as a parody. Christian Bale as Gorr was a too generic of a villain, seen it before in dozens of movies and was a dime in a dozen. Marvel has become a money hogging scam and trying to milk this franchise as much as possible with nonsensical storylines. We should rate this honestly lower as to give a signal the audience is not dumb, we know what quality is and script writers needs to be more creative. To people who do love it, more power to you, have a nice life. Expand

"Kill Your Idols" ("Ammazza il tuo Pantheon")

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a Missed Opportunity, the story was decent,The jane's and gorr's arc with it the thor's journey continuation and asgardians and gods involvement all of the plotlines felt like touched the surface but it didn't felt impacted with such less run-time and the gorr's terror was completely missed since the tone was too fun, It felt like watching a kids movie with silly catchphrases and the too colorfull environments but with little adult jokes, The whole gender related stuff was felt underdeveloped specailly the lady thor catchphrase and adult joke of zeus the whole zeus stuff was literally amature-ish portrayal although the god's arrogance and gorr's arc felt boosted, The golden temple scene was eye-pleasing and throughout the movie the CGI is literally art, The music was awesome with rock band themes, the old characters return like jane and her friend and guradians it was nice, The post credits were awesome specailly the hercules tease, The final act was amazing and the love and thunder tease at last was good, just like that the starting gorr's origin scene it was brutal and awesome it sets the tone for rest but the movie didn't catchup, The black and white tone for gorr and colorful for thor was amazing idea, The jane's entry 1st and ending's and ending kids fight was nice addition,The jane's cancer and getting back with thor and the ending of her with the gorr the it landed good,Overall it had amazing elements and plot-lines with gorr, jane and thor the tone was adjustable it was hyping up at start and ended well but the mid the journey felt rushed, Its an Average movie! I enjoyed it - any film that isn't too serious about superhero types tends to amuse me. As ever, this film features some great CGI and there are some funny pop culture references etc. (Guns 'n' Roses!). I can't say I was too keen on the shrieking goats/llamas though. The way Thor talks to his hammer is still pretty amusing (this is not meant as a euphemism). It is partly a romantic story this film, though not exclusively I suppose. A pretty good watch - nothing spectacular but its certainly good. though it does try to be a serious film, while also a madcap, borderline parody type superhero film and that does clash somewhat. I'd still recommend it overall as I did enjoy it for the most part and I'd say the acting and CGI makes it worth seeing, even if it is a little random and perhaps not as sharp as it could be. Expand

Chris Hemsworth remains the star of the show, I'm adding nothing new by saying he is just perfect for the role. Tessa Thompson, Taika Waititi and Natalie Portman all make for good support. Christian Bale is also someone I enjoyed, I like the look of his character but kinda felt that I wanted to see more of him - it's like we see a beginning and an end, but part of me feels like we coulda had something in-between.

The special effects are solid, as is the music; even if the track choices aren't the most creative. I probably would've shortened the run time a little, though that isn't anything all that noteworthy to be honest. There are some funny moments in there, which is always something I expect from a Taika Waititi flick.

As for me and my own personal Thor ranking, this - like the 2011 original (also 3) - isn't one of my favourites (fwiw, I enjoy 'Thor: The Dark World' and 'Thor: Ragnarok' (both 4) way more) but it's still a fun enough time that I'd recommend it.

I simply cannot (cannot, I tell you!) believe they didn't just call this 'Thor Four' btw...
