Genuinely terrifying practical effects that rival some of the classic 80's greats like "The Thing". The only complaint would be that the ending shot was ugly and kinda silly. Finally, a good Lovecraft movie. Expand

The exhibition and dialogue do leave room for improvement but this isn't enough to detract from the scares.

Corny storyline, but okay enough to keep watching. There's are way better horror movies out there but it was nice watching something with a bunch of freaky looking monsters that remind you of "The Thing" I'd give it a solid 6.5/10 I loveCorny storyline, but okay enough to keep watching. If The Thing, Hellraiser 1, 2 and 3 and From Beyond had an aborted baby, this would be it. A great ending included. If your a fan of films like VHS....watch this.

For me, I need to give this movie a perfect 10. Sure I can nit-pick the story, etc., but that was one hell of a ride. I had no clue what was going on, but didn't care. Movies rarely freak me out, but I'll be thinking about this one for a long time.

Masterpiece! It's not often that movies come along that really push the eerie creep factor. This movie is not trying to hold back in any regard. Whether it be imagination, or gore, or scare factor, it has it all. It's not perfect, however, IMasterpiece! It's not often that movies come along that really push the eerie creep factor. This movie is not trying to hold back in any regard. Whether it be imagination, or gore, or scare factor, it has it all. It's not perfect, however, I think there is so much content and lore that it needed more time to really convey it all. But what it does, it does with a beautiful flare that certain horror masterpieces have, such as Event Horizon, or In the Mouth of Madness. All it needs is Sam Neil and it would be great! Expand

In "The Void", the body horror and the sci-fi are closer to the original "Resident Evil" aesthetic (closer than the new TV Series is). It also presents itself as a more cohesive experience than the aforementioned TV series... I suggest everyone to watch "The Void" instead of "Resident Evil". The former is better, shorter, gorier, and somehow more original. Expand

I think I found it. I really loved how fast-paced it was, and it's otherworldly, terrifying mood. Not a GREAT movie by any means, but worths the screen time if you want some no-nonsense weirdness and want to scratch that specific eldricht glitch. DREAD over JUMPSCARES forever! Expand

Hellraiser meets The Thing meets John Carpenter's Halloween. This movie is an absolute blast to watch, especially if you're an '80s kid. The plot isn't quite as coherent as other films, but still, it is an adrenaline rush.

But the thing that made this movie so great to watch was the weirdness , too much stuff in small amount of time , great effects ! Overall this movie was good not great not bad ,and that for a horror movie is a achievement , i hope to see more from this director ! And certainly a rewatchable movie ! It starts relatively tame as a monster movie with the trope of being trapped in one location and trying to survive the unusual circumstances, but once **** hits the fan, it REALLY hits it. The only criticism I have is that sometimes pieces of the story is missing, like they were taken out in post production, so it was a bit hard to comprehend at times. Expand
