C’est en effet la foire aux rebondissements dans ce mélange détonnant entre comédie noire et thriller survitaminé (et notoirement sanguinolent, il faut bien le dire !). Les dits rebondissements ne sont pas forcément très crédibles mais conformes aux codes certes souvent fatigués du thriller au cours duquel les protagonistes tentent de survivre par tous les moyens…

L’humour ici très grinçant peut s’avèrer (heureusement rarement) un tantinet scatologique et on pourra également regretter une ou deux longueurs, même si on ne s’ennuie pas, loin de là… On rigole ou on ricane bien devant quelques situations et/ou dialogues bien trouvés, d’autant que Noomi Rapace peut exprimer ici son talent sans se fourvoyer -comme d’habitude- dans une daube hollywoodienne, puisqu’il s’agit d’une production 100% nordique !

Une comédie excessive et caricaturale qui assume entièrement ses excès en tout cas et parvient encoe à surprendre… pour le meilleur et pour le pire… mais avec globalement davantage de ‘meilleur’ que de ‘pire’ !… Expand

From the way this story unfolds in the first part, I really believed The Trip would be a sharp and poignant black comedy, and it was to a degree.

I mean, a story where a married couple tries to kill each other sounded quite interesting.
However once the violence and the abundant blood make their appearance along with other characters, the film falls apart completely.

That happens when your premise, however basic it may be, is more intelligent than the execution that you can provide.… Expand

In my aesthetics and ethics "bloody fun" is an oxymoron and "dark comedy" is an euphemism. "Scenes from a Marriage" pulp, gory, splatter: too cool for me that believe that Bergman and Tarantino are mutually exclusive, unless(Mauro Lanari)
