Funny to see there's so much negative reviews of this movie. Al those people really do not understand the message it sends. Loved it, cried about it.

This one of the best acting of Jhonny Depp, so real so intense, only 37?? something wrong with te critics.

I really enjoyed the movie. I assume people tend to be more honest when facing death.
I wonder if the low scores is because society is not ready to face honesty yet...

This movie really moved me. It taught me some really good life lessons. Johnny Depp played his character excellently. The moments he shares with his students, wife, daughter and best friend was the right quantity to move the story along. IThis movie really moved me. It taught me some really good life lessons. Personally, I really enjoyed the movie. It was interesting, funny, and at times very emotional. I have no idea why this gets such low scores, but I feel they're very undeserved.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a relatively quirky watch. There is some fairly poignant dialogue at times and its perhaps somewhat thought provoking, although many people may feel put off by the clear recklessness of the main (titular) character, as he does what he likes with his remaining time. As a dark comedy its ok, I found some moments amusing in terms of how Richard treats others in the University he works at and indeed there's a clear theme of social class and the loss of caring how peers view yourself, in view of the situation he finds himself in. I have to mention that Richard has a quite mumbly voice and so people may struggle to follow all the dialogue, although of course there's always subtitles (on most services for watching films anyway) but it may infuriate some people regardless. There's something about the clarity in which Richard finds with himself facing his impending death, that I found somehow admirable, even though he isn't an entirely likeable character, due to his actions. It's a weird film to explain in much detail and I suppose it is a bit cheesy in a way but its most certainly not bad either - its a quirky and watchable film, with the phrase 'carpe diem' very much relevant here. I would recommend this film to fans of Johnny Depp and thought-provoking dramas and possibly to fans of dark comedy, although it's not a big laugh out loud and outrageous sort of a film but it's a good character drama for the most part. I did feel that the final scene with him talking to his daughter was a bit too forcedly cheesy, in a way that didn't entirely sit with the rest of the film.

I feel this is the sort of film that's likely to be fairly memorable too, potentially.… Expand

It was a beautiful movie with with highs and lows of emotion. Everyone handles their devastating life changing news differently. Some never tell their family simply because they don't know how.
