I like campy stuff, I like absurd stuff, but this movie lacked any real personality. It didn’t take time to develop any characters or atmosphere, it simply revealed their characters with plot twists and over explanations. It will hold your attention and at the same time add very little thrill factor due to the bad pacing and constant re-explaining of what you just witnessed. The editing felt rushed, like they were too busy trying to shock and trick the viewer rather than to build up any real tension. And this was listed as a thriller. It was pretty ridiculous by the end. Netflix will make anything at this point if a few semi known d list actors are in it. If you have literally nothing else to watch, and you like shallow base revenge stories, then I guess watch it. Just keep your expectations very low. Expand

I honestly feel bad for the people calling this movie a master of twists. Save yourself 90 minutes and find something much better to watch because I can promise you than even a mediocre physiological thriller would be more entertaining. Hell I’d even argue that Tommy Wiseau’s The Room has more depth than this. Expand

It then turns into a rehash of "I Spit on Your Grave" as the women get revenge against the powerful, rich, old, white men that ruined their lives. Yawn. Expand

The premise is laughably stupid, the dialogue is badly written/repetitive, it's corny but self-serious, and painfully hollow. Don't worry, the male writers and director were sure to shoehorn in totally irrelevant, "hot" girl-on-girl action to hold your attention within the first 30 minutes. Don't believe the marketing hype. It's not feminist, and it's not scary. Expand

What a piece of filth. Gross all around, and it thinks it's making some sort of statement about sacrifices to make great art, but it's simply skeevy, gruesome, and perverted.

Terrible and a waste of time. The movie wasn’t a thriller or a horror movie. It’s was a #metoo film that wasted my life.

This movie is a waste of your precious time and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. There are other ways for this movie to make sense, but the one depicted is not the one that justifies anything. It is just bad.

Nothing has me laughing harder than the comments talking about how this is a "masterpiece" because it makes you feel uncomfortable, disturbed, emotional pain and that it reflects the "difficulties women go through."

I saw a video posted on the web of mexican cartel members cutting the guts out of a rival gang member while he is alive and screaming. I felt uncomfortable, disturbed, enraged, and pain, was that video a masterpiece?

There were many other issues with the movie, particularly in how unbelievable it was, and other technicals like pacing and camera shots. I won't even bother getting into how ridiculous the plot was and wildly divergent actions in the first half of the movie and the latter revealed motivations. Those issues were minor compared to problem with the message of the movie.

I empathize with everyone who lived vicariously through the film and saw it as feeling vindicated or felt some sense of justice. But recognize what you are enjoying and promoting, perfectly encapsulated in the final shot-- the sadistic enjoyment from the subjugation and torture of others. And if that is justice to you, then who is left that isn't a depraved criminal?
