JLO IS THE MOTHER!!! Such an amazing film that keeps you on the edge of your seat from start to finish!! Nobody could have played Jennifer’s role besides her. This is the cheesiest film I've seen this year. No logic to the storyline whatsoever! Also, the little girl outperformed the whole cast involved.

Eye rolling, pointless series of mediocre action scenes. Zero effort script/plot. Complete waste of your time, just watch some JLo music vids instead if you want to see her.

Like many action movies lead by male actors, the plots usually tend to be the least important thing about them.
They are mostly an excuse to make the physicality of the protagonists' shine, as much as to make the action sequences shine.

In terms of functioning, that's basically all this movie has going for it.
It shows off its sequences and Jennifer Lopez's physical performance, but even though she's able to sell the badass character, on this particular occasion it felt like she was forcing it and if you take that issue and the constant addition of generic sequences and lame villains, The Mother is a disappointing offering that everyone will forget about before the end of the month.… Expand

The Mother is a suspenseful assassin film and yet it also has a thematically gripping story hidden underneath. Jennifer Lopez rocks in this dang solid film worth watching on Mother's Day.

This is a movie we've all seen before. Clichéd and formulaic, The Mother rides lazily on action movies before it, without offering anything tangible or new to the genre, and it's such a shame that three prolific writers were involved in making the plot.

Jennifer Lopez's acting is good, but with the material she had to work with, it's a dud. Lucy Paez as Lopez's daughter is a revelatory performance, and this should be a career launcher; her facial mannerisms also remind me of Sydney Sweeney.

The Mother has nothing new to offer, but it's still a watchable flick.

Just watching the movie without getting deeper to check for mistakes and holes, the story can be watched smoothly although it is a bit a ‘hit in the belly’ as we call it here. As for example it shows on how difficult a strong action killer can connect with a child and protect her from the bad guys and learning her the hard way to live This is what u have to say for this good movie . Just the underwritten kinda bad script/screenplay, Jennifer Lopez is a good actress and personally i think she is an underrated actress who deserves more credit, she has a lot of good films under her belt. She really suits this genre of film, all she needs is a good script like her previous film 'Enough' but sadly hollywood now lacks good writers and directors. Every single one of the actors in this film done an amazing job its just the writers and directors that suck. you could have the greatest actor/actress in the world on a film but if the script/screenplay and directing sucks its just not gonna be a good movie. all in all nice to see women over 50 in action films, need more of that.… Expand

The movie had good action and J-Lo seemed quite good in it too, just it had too much plot cliches that got too predictable, especially closer to end and some of it I did not like, but overall a decent watch.
