Why... that`s the only question and emotion the movie produces. Should of stopped on the original Matrix 1999. (actually, if that neon sign "for those who love to eat..." is the direct message to the audience - it kind of answers the question)

An absolute disaster. Care, thought and originality have been thrown in the bin. Instead, strong far-left social/political messaging and dialog has been shoehorned into the movie. The action scenes are mediocre. Keeanu couldn't cut his hair due to John Wick schedules so the character is just a mopey version of John Wick. Laurence Fishburne wasn't brought back. Scenes feel pointless, weird and incoherent. The movie feels like a politically left leaning tv series who's two sets are a coffee shop with soy latte hipsters and their office they work at. This isn't what anyone wanted.

I can't stress enough how bad this film is. The last 3 are art by comparison. Don't ruin your day by watching this.… Expand

Trans and black majority main cast cater to the twitter and reddit mob while the mindless, sloppy jumble of mess that is the action scenes reminds me of marvel movies where everything but the kitchen sink is thrown in front of a green screen without any sense of direction or cohesion. The story is laughably skin deep and feels like an utter travesty when compared to the infinitely deep concept of the original films and neither the cinematography, music or anything used in this borefest is memorable or inspiring. Hollywood has truly become creatively bankrupt and not even the big boys from the past can save it anymore. All they care about anymore is to become more woke and try to devour every single beloved franchise out there until nothing is left anymore but utter crap. RIP.… Expand

This abomination is a Razzi award for the next decade. You need to have a concentrated soul of pure hatred or delusion to produce something so loathsome and repugnant to witness. My heart breaks for Keanu Reeves & Carrie-Anne Moss who could not make this script work under any pretenses because of The Matrix Resurrections' unwavering forced woke culture garbage spewing out of every cinematic film grain. It does not surprise me that Lawrence Fishburne isn't Morpheus in this trash heap, and that his unnecessary replacement, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II falls woefully short of both the original actor and character. All the intelligence of the original trilogy has been replaced by offended culture and easy to construct and manipulate plot points that lead nowhere constructive. It is obvious that deception is the only effort put into this disaster, to stretch out a terrible and forced story into a two hour abomination that desparately pleads with the audience to remember the original trilogy as much as possible, even ripping lines and scenes blatantly from the Wachowski Brothers earlier work trying to polish this turd into the same content, failing at every level.

The Matrix Resurrections doesn't resurrect the Matrix franchise; it places a legendary series on critical life support, to the disappointment, rage, and frustration of all who dare to stomach this flick.… Expand

Yeah, this ain't it. The movie makes it pretty clear in its not-so-subtle messages that this was mainly done by the Wachowskis to keep the rights if The Matrix from Warner Brothers, and it shows. Neo and Trinity doesn't seem to fit in theirYeah, this ain't it. Neo and Trinity doesn't seem to fit in their own movie, the pacing is atrocious, the characters are all over the place, the plot doesn't make any sense, and it ultimately goes nowhere. The CGI and the fighting scenes, once revolutionary in cinema history with the original trilogy when they were released in the late 90s-early 00s, could have been the only saving grace for this movie to be acceptable, but they are dull and completely forgettable. It almost seems like an attempt from the Wachowskis to boycott their own franchise. At the beginning I was sad that neither Hugo Weaving nor Laurence Fishburne came back to reprise their roles, but looking back at it I believe they just dodged a huge bullet. Save your money (And time!) and watch the other three movies.… Expand

After a truly bitter first taste the glimpses of 1/2 of the Wachowski genius started to seep in through the cracks. A taste of brilliance here, a dash of somewhat decent writing there, before I began to slowly settle in to what this movie has to offer. Unfortunately the small taste was all this film had going for it. I stand firmly in the camp of not completely disliking either Reloaded or Revolutions. To put them next to this film makes both hated sequels to an undeniable classic seem like Empire and Return of the Jedi. The Matrix Resurrections is a deeply flawed picture. It begs the question if it should exist at all. So much of the style, the exciting life of the former movies of the late 90's and early 2000's had is nowhere to be seen. The writing plops off the page like wet dog excrement. Iconic characters are recast for the worse. Action set pieces and, god forbid I say it, kung fu action sequences the previous films were known for are completely absent in favor of cheap, jump cutting "thrills". There was perhaps a solid 10 minutes of decent storytelling near the middle of the film that shone a bit brighter amongst the miasma before it inevitably took a nose dive into mediocrity. All in all the film is a shocking mockery of the franchise, built to fail.… Expand

I honestly don't know where start/stop complaining because I'm still not sure what I have seen. I even didn't realize the movie is over, I had no idea that was supposed to be the climax of the movie. Apart from all these issues, what bothers me even more, the style is simply gone. Enemies are dressed like clowns and where the original made you believe they can evade bullets, I constantly had the feeling they are now jumping into the bullets.… Expand

The first Matrix movie had a societal impact like very few other movies have had before or after and the cultural significance is still relevant to this day. I was absolutely blown away by this film and it is certainly one of my all timeThe first Matrix movie had a societal impact like very few other movies have had before or after and the cultural significance is still relevant to this day. I was absolutely blown away by this film and it is certainly one of my all time favorites. The sequels were not quite as good but definitely still had their moments of action, intrigue, and spectacle. After seeing Resurrections I'm now convinced that they never should've gone beyond the original. Resurrections makes Revolutions look like Citizen Kane, despite all the flaws the trilogy's finale had. I knew this latest entry to the series was not going to be as good as the original trilogy, but nothing could've prepared me for how bad this movie actually was.

The first red flag is the fact that this film has to constantly remind you of how much better the first film was. About a third of the film is either trying to sloppily recreate the most iconic scenes and imagery of the first film, or is literally just showing you those scenes within the film. Then there's all the "meta" self-awareness the film has, which could have been a clever plot device but is done in such a painfully cringy way that it feels like they don't want you take this film seriously. Neo's powers are completely nerfed and it's pretty obvious that Keanu is now too old to do kung fu. Agent Smith and Morpheus are just cheap knock-offs of Weaving and Fishburne, and I can't blame those two for not wanting to return to this trainwreck of a sequel. Instead of the Architect we have the "Analyst" who is an actual exposition machine and explains any necessary plot points when the story needs to move forward. There are a lot of cool ideas like a machine civil war that get briefly mentioned and then are never spoken of again, even though these could've been fascinating concepts to explore. The new characters are like forgettable NPCs, which is fitting considering that the film's first angle is to say the Matrix was just a video game. They even introduce one of the most cliche concepts they could possibly throw into this franchise, zombies. Yes that's right, there are now zombies in the Matrix. You might be wondering if at least the action is any good... well, it isn't. The fight choreography also feels like a huge downgrade from the entire Matrix trilogy.

There are so many things wrong with this movie, from the script, to the casting, to the execution, and so on. It's a nostalgia-bait cash-grab that destroys everything the franchise had worked to achieve, and based on Lana Wachowski's statements this was probably intentional. I understand wanting to make a commentary about the film industry, sequels, etc., but that could've been accomplished without creating such a disjointed mess. This is one of the most disappointing sequels ever made, if not the worst sequel in the history of film. I'd prefer to be like Neo and believe that this movie is not real.… Expand

I appreciated some of the new ideas with futuristic sci-fi technology they implemented, and the progression of the overarching story, I even liked that they hinted at the way society is currently broken under government and media manipulation, but in the end this movie caved in on itself in favor of short-sighted ideological horn-blowing. I consider myself a feminist because I believe men and women deserve equal rights, opportunity and overall consideration. That said, I'm so sick of this trend of film-makers to alter the flow of established stories towards an unbalanced and sexist feminist agenda when it negates and undermines the established story. That's what happened with this movie. Making Neo a worrisome, frail and weakened character was a dumb move, and it crumbled the keystone the franchise was built under. With this in mind (SPOILER ALERT) giving Trinity powers out of absolutely nowhere to have her save the day with NEO cling to her for protection was bad for the story and it hurt the franchise because it made it an ideological set piece rather than a good story. The bit at the very end where Neil Patrick Harris starts spouting off cliche sexist, male-dominant, meme-grade trigger phrases while Trinity beats the crap out of him was just groan-worthy.

Skip it. It's the worst film in the franchise because it just sold out to modern day ideological fanaticism at the expense of being a good movie.… Expand

Not near as good as I expected. The story seemed to be rushed and it just felt like the last season of Game of Thrones. I am so used to Keanu Reeves' characters being a super bad ass and in this one Neo seemed every bit of the 57 yrs old the actor is and more. I thought "Doogie Houser" was a horrible casting for the movie, you will understand when you watch it. The musical score even disappointed me, it was no were near as good as the other movies. I especially didn't like the ending credits song. What did I like? Carrie Ann Moss is still beautiful and a hottie at 54. Trinity was more of a bad ass than Neo, is Trinity The One now? The trailer for the movie with the White Rabbit remix was one of the best I have ever seen. The use of HDR was good. Some other things I liked would be spoilers so I will stop here.… Expand

From original to gimmick. I think they lost the point and the plot of the matrix. It is sad in a sense, that our so called "modern" culture is incapable of genuine creativity. I was the first Matrix movie's biggest fan. I wanted this sequel to be earth-shattering and life-changing. I wanted it to be another landmark in cinema history. I wanted it to be another landmark in cinema history. I wanted all of these things, but it wasn't meant to be. It sadly failed in all of these respects. The plot was not respectful to the previous movies, it was weak and I couldn't really care about the outcome. The casting choices were poor, for example Agent Smith, who is supposed to be the meanest and scariest of them all, all but diminished to some generic, forgettable form. Besides Neo and Trinity, the other characters were circus caricatures, each with their own little nickname, party-shop sunglasses and hairstyle. I never felt connected or concerned about the well-being of the characters. Their success or demise were uninteresting. Special effects were average, fight scenes were boring and there was nothing ground breaking, not even on par with the rest of cinema today. Compared to the amazing fight sequences for example in Shang-Chi, it paled in comparison. To top it off, the WOKE messages felt forced, but these I could have lived with if everything else was done right. This movie could have been better. There are many more plotlines that could have been brain-twistingly interesting and mind-melting. But it settled for average. It wasn't meant to be.… Expand

There is a theory going around, I happen to agree with that the director made a bad movie on purpose. And the Wachowski's have been making limited interest artsy movies or big budget flops for a decade plus now. I streamed this movie with my girlfriend. And we both fell asleep at different places. That's not normal! Especially not for me on a first viewing of any film. On a movie with action sequences? Literally a first. The first Matrix changed film culture, and created imitators. The sequels, though less liked still told, in my opinion, a satisfying story. This is more like bad fan fiction than a sequel. It could have been a good movie. There are elements in there that had the potential to make a great film if done right. But whatever not terrible elements there were, they got done dirty. Thats for sure.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There is simply no excuse for the sloppy, lazy debacle, that is Matrix Resurrections. Compared to the original masterpiece, this just looks bad. The grading is off, the cinematography is bad, the fight choreography is slow and almost apathetic.
The "powers", Neo uses, are boring, because is kinda like a one-trick pony. The plot is non-sensical, lacking the drive and clarity, that made the original so mesmerising. You don't care about any of the secondary characters.
And I really don't understand why agent Smith does what he does, and why the hell we get an agent in f***ing loafers!!!! And why hell Morpheus is dressed as as pimp!!!
The movie also just kinda brushes over what happened after "Revolutions" and offers a very vague explanation of why thing are the way, they are.

Basically retcons the previous trilogy. Maybe the people that made this should look up the definition of 'one'. The story is boring, and the cinematography and action is more like some cheap, modern action movie instead of the Matrix of old.

The latest iteration of the matrix series is breaking my matrix fanboy heart. I have loved the movies since they first released and it has been on my top 3 of allI honestly can't understand why some people rate this above a 3 or 4. Honestly.
The latest iteration of the matrix series is breaking my matrix fanboy heart. I have loved the movies since they first released and it has been on my top 3 of all times. But that era has come to and end and it's time to say good bye.

The first Matrix got loved by people around the world for the innovative special effects, the deep story, the anime inspired camera shots and the amazing Bullet time, never before seen in cinemas.
Nothing of that magic is kept in Matrix 4. The soul of the Matrix universe is gone and replaced with some kind of Hollywood washed out garbage standard formula 1A.
It's quite noticeable that they didn't really want to make this movie. It's whole existence is a proof of that. Even the meta discussions within the movie provide evidence for this theory.
The film follows the same formula you've seen a million times before. Introduce main character, poorly executed story elements, a few low budget action scenes, some old washed out special effects, climax end fight, curtain call.

Each and every action scene in the movie is worse than in the original. The choreography is slow and predictable. Nothing new is brought to the table. We have all seen it before.
They have a few special effects (you have seen them before) which they re-use during the scenes of the movie. One move, by Neo, is done over 10 times. The same... effect.. 10.. times.. It's unbearable to watch.

To top it off, as a final stab in the back they removed that old "matrix feeling" and atmosphere (Green tinted, slow mo poses that we all loved) and replaced it with a hand full of wokeness instead. White male is bad, women, people of colour and LBTQ+ is good. Keanu Reeves looks like a lost boy surrounded by a political correct woke cast.
Even though I respect all kind of people no matter colour or sexual preferences, I'm getting so tired of having it shoved down my throat. I just wanted to see a great movie, I didn't pay to get lectured. But lectured is what I got, and a great movie was nowhere to be seen.

Matrix 1-3 will keep on living in my heart until the day I die but this movie will be dead and buried. The legend is dead and the Matrix is no more.

But the memories remain.… Expand

THE GOOD - Its original cast returns.. except for Agent Smith and Morpheus.. Really? For real? If I was the director, I would've cancelled the film if they couldn't return. - Sometimes great visuals -This film was such a disappointment.

- The lighting is too bright and the color correction is too vibrant (it just doesn't look or feel right. The original film better utilizes the CC as it had a green haze plastered over it, when they were in the Matrix. But here, you can't distinguish reality from the Matrix and it can sometimes become confusing)

These are just a few of my main complaints with the film. I had my expectations low and was still disappointed. This sequel could've been a return to form for the Matrix film. A landmark in the Sci-Fi genre, but all that potential is immediately lifted when the writing and sense of direction mixes.… Expand

You were invested Neo's story, and wanted to witness it to its conclusion. But now there is this. A movie not just incredibly cynical or on-the-nose regarding Hollywood throwing out remakes and reboots, but a movie that makes everything that happened in the trilogy utterly pointless. Further, Matrix Resurrections looks like a TV movie. From the slowed-down from 24fps action (typically you shoot at a higher framerate for slo-mo) to the mediocre action scenes that could be from any streaming action movie. And brace yourselves for the laugh-out-loud wire work in the final scenes. Yes, we've gone from the mind-bending bullet time of the original movie to actors visibly bouncing on hidden wires. The Matrix Resurrections probably doesn't need an introduction but I'll give one anyway. It's time to return to a world of two realities, the seemingly real world and what lies behind it. Mr. Anderson (Keanu Reeves) must follow the white rabbit once again, cue the guns and slow motion bullet time. Look I'm sure we can all agree that The Matrix is a brilliant movie but with two bad sequels that we'd all prefer to forget exist at all. When a franchise ends up with more bad movies in it than good ones it's probably time to call it a day and move on to something else. Well that's what should happen but it's not what ends up happening, we're living in a constant stream of remakes and franchises so is it any wonder they decided to have another crack at The Matrix? I got caught up in the hype, sure didn't we all? The chance to see iconic duo, Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss onscreen together again with Lana Wachowski directing. There was so much damn potential and what did we get? Rubbish, that's what we got. Enough already, let the franchise die and stay dead.

The Matrix Resurrections is desperately living in the shadow of the original. Surprisingly there's a good bit of footage from the original in this sequel. So much that I ended up feeling like I'd rather be watching that instead and if I had known what this was going to turn out like I probably would have stuck to the first movie and not bothered with this unnecessary sequel at all. The opening felt like a remake and as the story progressed the less invested I became. The Matrix gave us ground-breaking stunts and memorable fight scenes but The Matrix Resurrections gave us nothing we haven't already seen before only better. I loved whenever Neo and Trinity (Carrie-Anne Moss) were onscreen together but aside from that it's an overblown mess. The decision not to have Laurence Fishburne and Hugo Weaving reprise their roles as Morpheus and Agent Smith was a huge mistake in my opinion. If you're going to use people's nostalgia to get them to see another sequel then you better get the original cast back. Yes I was excited to see Neo and Trinity again but leaving out Fishburne and Weaving felt wrong. Absolutely no disrespect towards Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Jonathan Groff. There's nothing wrong with their performances but there's not a whole lot you can do with a badly written script, and a story no one asked for. Yes it looks impressive visually but that's not enough to save it.

I'm annoyed at myself for getting excited for a new Matrix movie. Well I learned my lesson now and I'm going to go back to just acknowledging one Matrix movie. The Matrix Resurrections is not worth your time and not recommended. For that it's only getting 3/10, for Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss. As for the rest I'm already trying to forget I've seen it.… Expand

The Matrix Resurrections is fan fiction, written while making burned toast by people that did not understand the original movies. The point of the matrix is that not everything is the way you think it is, just because someone tells you it is that way. Are you making genuine choices, or are you fooled into believing that you make your choices? The problem with humans, to keep them happy in the matrix while the machines use them as batteries, is that they need the illusion of choice to accept the simulated reality around them.

The Matrix trilogy is one of thé, if not the best, movie franchise to have included strong philoshycal and religious imagery into its movie without ever saying it out loud. The subtlety with which this has been implemented in the movies is so good that you can watch the original movies ten times and learn something new every time. With Resurrections you are guarenteed to want to slice your own wrists a bit more every time you watch it.

Philosophy, religious imagery and strong themes like choice, love and destiny are gone in favor of futuristic and comedic elements like programmes that have actual emotions instead of seeing them like a word in their program. Neo is trapped in the matrix with Trinity who has been brought back to life for the second time in the franchise, only to serve as a plot point and to suddenly have powers like the One. A new version of the matrix and its new architect try to harnass the power between Neo and Trinity as there are 'power shortages', and the machines now wage war amongst each other... which is by far the dumbest idea to have been introduced into this movie.

Zion has been rebranded through the powers of CGI and is now called IO. Morpheus is dead because Laurence Fishburne was smart enough not to return for this travesty, and Agent Smith is played by a new actor because Hugo Weaving was also not touched in the head. Jada Pinket Smith returns as Niobe, with some of the worsed de-aging make-up i've seen in a long time. Even though IO is huge, we only ever really see one particular platform where almost every IO scene is shot... very lazy. The same can by the way be said for most of the movie. Small sets that copy parts of the original movies are used for its scenes, and most of the world is CGI.

I'm not sure what to say. If someone told me the story of this movie and asked me if it would make for a worthy sequel, i would have told them to seek medical attention. This is the same dumb, lazy and out of touch sequel **** like Independence Day Resurgence, The Predator and Alien Covenant. One of the Wachowski brothers might have been involved in this, but it sure seems like none of the original creators were.

I hate this abomination. I'm glad i didn't have to watch this in theatres. **** you Warner Bros. **** you Keanu for accepting this disgraceful movie rol. 1/10. Better ideas have been cancelled, just like this should have been.… Expand

Well kind of; he can't fight, he can't use any powers and is no longer the hero. He can stop bullets; which he does over and over again and a completey useless punch. By the end, you are hoping one of the bullet scenes loops takes him out to end both his misery and the audience. By the end he is completely subservient to trinity; apparently she was the hero entire time. Not forced at all; made complete sense (sigh).

All the scenes are utter rubbish; jumble story that is forced and looks like a college class production. Something about humans and love conquers all with just terrible plot points that go nowhere. Acting and directing at all time low. The opening scene is just terrible and jumbled; it's like they shot everything in a 20ftx20ft set only.

The good:
+1 star - for any scene with neil patrick harris, he really did a great job and any of his scenes were well done. Made a terrific "bad guy". Unfortunately that is about 15mins of movie.

Some nostalgia and cut backs to old movies; probably best parts.… Expand

La résurrection ne s’est pas bien passée… et pour cause, puisqu’il s’agit de la suite de la suite… de la suite ! C’est que le Matrix 1, celui de 2000, avait pour lui non seulement ses effets spéciaux stupéfiants mais surtout une réalisation… prodigieuse ! ici, dans ce Matrix 4, c’est clairement la douche froide à cet égard : montage trop nerveux, ralentis moins bien faits, moins spectaculaires et surtout plus rares ; enfin, le côté artistique est bien moins réussi, moins frappant, le cadre, la photographie, les couleurs même !…

Sans compter l’absence de Fishburne et Weaving qui apportaient chacun dans leur registre énormément à leurs personnages ! leurs ‘remplaçants’ ne sont pas à la hauteur et les ‘nouveaux’ sont anecdotiques. Au mieux. Reeves a l’air lessivé ici (c’est vraiment toi, John Wick, on ne te reconnaît pas !) et Moss un brin endormie… je crois qu’ils n’en ont rien à battre en fait : ils prennent le fric de ce super nanar et basta !

En tout cas, l’espèce de scénar qui prétend nous occuper pendant deux heures et quart (hors générique de fin de presque…. un quart d’heure !) pédale à la fois dans la choucroute, la nostalgie maladroite et le fan service décérébré. C’est dire ici que la Matrice tourne à vide presque aussi vite qu’elle a commencé et qu’après un démarrage lent, elle cale au bout d’une heure… et ce qui se déroule ensuite sombre dans un certain ridicule, pour ne pas dire un ridicule certain.

Une seule bonne idée dans le lot, si je puis dire, celle du psy… qu’on n’avait pas vu venir. Mais de toute façon, une suite directe après les si médiocres Matrix 2 et 3 ne pouvait aller que droit dans le mur, surtout après un hiatus aussi long (18 ans après le 3 !).… Expand

This is the worst Matrix movie ever made. The acting was horrible. Lawrence Fishburne is the best morpheus. The silly funny lines here and there in the movie **** everything up.

Yes, it's quite bad. Nobody expected anything good in the plot department here - after all, even the 2nd Matrix was good only in action and visuals. But this time they've totally failed even in the technical department. No style, no visuals,Yes, it's quite bad. Nobody expected anything good in the plot department here - after all, even the 2nd Matrix was good only in action and visuals. But this time they've totally failed even in the technical department. No style, no visuals, mediocre and boring action scenes, bad choreography, mediocre operator work. Special effects are bland, sometimes horrendous, especially when they show robots up close. And we're comparing movies with 18 years of difference.
On top of that, the new actors are all dull. Lame new Morfeus, lame new Smith, lame Merovingian, lame and boring new main heroine and hew crew. Barney Stinson seems like the only good new addition, but he can't carry this trainwreck.
The whole movie feels like a parody - check this out, we can do similar scenes as in the first movie, but worse. Well, good for you, but why don't I just go and watch the first movie then?
And if you ironize about bad unnecessary sequels, it doesn't excuse when you make one yourself.… Expand

Worst of all, Keeanu Reaves doesn't even want to look-talk-kiss his co-star Carrie-Anne Moss's old lover-eternal mistress, and this is evident throughout the film whenever he is close to her.
Keanu probably doesn't believe in anything of his acting and you can see it (there is clear evidence about it) just take a closer look at the official poster of the movie, where he proposes his hand forward rather to say to all of you, no do not see this movie, I was paid and that is enough, do not waste your time my dear fans. Garbage fantasy follows.
A more honest title for the film would be "Fartrix", hand proposed, it's comimg out, hold your breath.… Expand

Everything that made the original Matrix amazing, they messed up. The acting was terrible, fight scenes were awful, I never cared about any of the characters, there was no tension at all, no suspense, and another thing I noticed is that Neo never once even held a gun. What kind of Matrix movie is this? I expected so much more than this. I'm gonna pretend this movie never happened.… Expand

I saw this movie instead of Spider-Man to fulfill my big budget movie fix the day before Christmas Eve because the theater was less jam-packed and I was a casual fan of the first two movies in the trilogy. I ended up falling asleep in my chair for only the second time ever in my filmgoing experience (the first being when I saw Lincoln almost a decade ago at a midnight showing after a long day). The plot is an incoherent mess and the pseudo-political messaging is some of the laziest and lamest contrived garbage you will see in a film. There are cheaper and more enjoyable ways to spend two and a half hours of your time.… Expand

Spoiler alert Trinity is the new Neo, cause nothing subverts expectations like just making the previous supporting female character into the new lead and chosen one. Fight scenes are **** and forgetful. Agent smith is annoying and not iconic in anyway. Morpheus also comes back and is also a massively wasted opportunity. This movie sucks.… Expand

I liked some twists in this film such as Smith being suddenly helpful then being a huge a-hole again and the scene where bots were used as bombs was ridiculously disturbing and reminded me of The Happening, a movie that seriously scared the s**t out of me. Sadly, this movie is in the realm of dumpsites.

I dislike this movie for the reasons numbered below.

1. There's not much action and the fight scenes felt so weak.
2. Neo just waves his hand at those bots to defeat them to the point it becomes unbearable to watch. We all know Keanu can still do some badass martial arts right John Wick?
3. Gunfights dominated this movie. The way they replicated those action scenes that made The Matrix Trilogy iconic was cringy and weak.
4. Does the camera man have some kind of mild epilepsy or somethin'? His seizures seem to occur when people fight in front of him. This almost feels like I'm watching those horrible Bourne fight scenes again and I almost puked 'cause of all the camera shakes and the infuriating throw-impact cuts. RIP action-focused cinematography.
5. Trinity being the one who unlocked her flight powers first before Neo smells like feminist agenda to me. It's fine that she was the key to Neo's Ultra Instinct mojo but her being set as more powerful than Neo at the end didn't feel right. What was she, The Two? Or The 0.5?
6. Knowing the fact that nothing actually improved after all those sacrifices in the previous films almost made me shoot the screen with a shotgun. In fact, everything went down to s**t 'cause humans were forced to hide even deeper, Zion got f****d up real bad, the Matrix was still infected with that God-awful version of Smith, and bots were added to f**k things up even worse 'cause Smith can easily infect them no matter the distance. What did Neo accomplish? Humans being able to grow strawberries with the help of rebel machines who sided with humans after his sacrifice in Revolutions? Dafack (face palm)
7. The Brass Against rendition of Wake Up by Rage Against The Machine in the end credits was an abomination for me. I hate it and it made me hate this movie even more. Murdering a masterpiece is unforgivable. This film was a 5 before I heard that song but I decided to give this a 3 for I detest that rendition at the end. The original song was already perfectly used in the first Matrix movie.

If I can choose to forget one movie I'd choose this one. They should have stayed at Revolutions. It's funny though how Neo in this film didn't want to make a 4th game about The Matrix. The filmmakers should have listened to Neo.… Expand

This movie is a steaming pile of garbage and should never have been made. The part where marketing execs are constantly providing crap 'ideas' is no doubt how this movie came about. Hollywood has a lot to answer for for making this terrible crap.

What was that. The first Matrix was maybe a TEN for me but this was so far off the mark that its hard to imagine this was a Matrix movie. I am a huge Matrix fan. When the originals came out, I even bought clothes that looked like characters. The first three movies were all good even though the third was lacking a bit, I think. La presenza della regista non è minimamente riuscita peró a limitare il danno. La cosa che più mi da fastidio è la totale mancanza dell’atmosfera presente nel film, rovinata con una fotografia totalmente fuori luogo e da classiche battutine all’americana, ormai sembrano quasi obbligatorie in ogni film. C’è poi da dire che, per quanto io ami Keanu Reeves, ormai non è più in grado di sostenere ruoli del genere. Per quanto sia forse impossibile raggiungere il livello dei precedenti Matrix (del primo specialmente), mi pare inconcepibile che gente del mestiere abbia potuto far uscire una roba de genere.
