Ouch. The set up and the first half of the movie are actually quite decent and a bit of good fun, Kevin Hart is always enjoyable. One really good and fun action sequence near the end, the humor was touch and go at spots, but overall mostly effective.

Kevin Hart plays Kevin Hart. Again.
The Man From Toronto is insufferably unfunny.

There are way better action comedies based on mistaken identity, even that Amazon Gringo film was better than this. One point because I laughed one time, well chuckled actually. Expand

And while what you see is what you get, it's a fun ride, a mix of mistaken identity comedy and odd couple with Hart and Harrelson delivering the goods on their respective stereotypical characters. Ever since Harrelson walked away from the set of Cheers, he's been typecast as the badass and he does fine here. Hart is Mr. Blabbermouth Hijinx who plays a failed salesman that fouls everything up whatever he touches. Lots of cliches here, lots of different locales and the romp around keeps the story going. The highlight has to be the gym fight sequence towards the end. For a moment, it felt like a completely different film with the brawl choreography clean and overall, a rollicking hoot. This is Friday night, pizza night fare and all the parts work together. It's a Netflix film and while sections feel tired and bland, the leads keep you hooked. It's way better than Red Notice. A nice distraction. Expand

This movie is absolutely funny. Kevin Hart delivers the laugh with his silly self. He's truly the modern-age Mr. Bean.

He's assumed to be the titular character, who's a cold-blooded killer (Woody Harrelson). Of course, the silliness ensues with the unlikely duo working their way thru it. Frankly, there's not much about the story or the action that stands out. On top of that, the chemistry between the 2 stars never gets to any strong comic level. Hart has his moments, but this won't be one of the prolific actor's best. Expand

A rehash of "Central Intelligence" basically: an average Joe gets entangled in an international espionage/terrorism scheme while cracking really funny jokes.

Nothing new, but a great way to pass a couple of hours.

I thought it was fun movie with nice action in it. Yes Kevin Hart basically plays himself but it had funny jokes and I thought it was entertaining

It is absolute garbage. Do not waste your time. It relies on low imagination stuff like barf and silly violence. The jokes are miserable and the motivations behind the main characters is very weak,

The plot was weird and boring. No memorable villains. And I felt like I was just thrown into something that I basically know nothing about. Very underperformed generic action movie. A lot of things were blatantly fake, like explosions and fire, and when you see them driving in the car the green screen is painfully obvious. I did enjoy some fighting scenes, but one of them had horrible cinematography. They would do weird cuts that were obvious. It's as if a newly graduated film college student edited this movie and did the cinematography. There were also parts where Kevin Hart would get shot or severely hurt, but then 2 mins later he would be fighting or moving as if he never got hurt. What pissed me off the most though, as a fellow Canadian that's from Toronto, is when they mispronounced Toronto... I understand for the American characters, but Woody's character is supposed to be from Toronto and yet he also mispronounced it. Did they not have any people from Toronto, or at least Canadians, to help work on this movie? Not one person told anyone how to properly pronounce it? It's not the biggest deal, but it made me dislike the movie the most. I cringed so hard when they mispronounced it. That's just my personal bias. Like I said, I understand why the American characters would mispronounce it, but not the Canadian characters... They filmed this movie in Toronto and they still failed to pronounce it properly. That is just disrespectful, in my opinion. Anyway, I digress. I thought I was gonna like this movie, but I ended up very much disliking it. I probably will never watch this movie again LOL Expand

Kevin Hart is often used in buddy movies even if his hysterical humor is not fun at all, and so Netflix flops once again.

There could be a decent concept in there with The Man from... men, but in reality... 'The Man from Toronto' is poor.

I like both Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson, and they do make it more watchable than it would otherwise be, but even those two couldn't stop this from being an unfortunately dull watch for me. Nothing about this feels fresh, it came out in 2022 but could've easily come out in 2012.

Hart's performance seems like something we've seen before, with it feeling - at least on the surface - the same as his roles in 'Central Intelligence' with Dwayne Johnson and in 'Ride Along' with Ice Cube. The plots are different, of course, but the vibe is pretty much the same. Hart should stick with films like 'The Upside' and 'Fatherhood', in my opinion.

It's very forgettable. in short. It's not helped by an overlong run time, either.
