No, "The Last Movie Star" is not the great or even really good movie it could and should have been. But Reynolds' performance in it is one of the most deeply touching, truly vulnerable turns by a veteran actor I've seen in ages. Reynolds really rises above the material and makes this a much more affecting film than it has any right to be. I honestly got choked up more than once during the showing. I would highly recommend watching it for his performance alone. That's more than reason enough.… Expand
