Granted, there are a couple of clunky scenes but I fully connected with this film. Forget the critics whose brains have clearly lost more than half of their original synapses. If you're intrigued, ignore the metascore and go see it.

The 'creepy' parts had her a bit scared for a while, but the resolution pleased her. She says that she will want to see it again when it comes out on DVD. I liked how the movie put a magnifying glass up to our current times -- from the overly-used electronic devices to the homeland securty/post 9-11 knee jerk response of fear and overreaction. Nice tie-in with the past as well. Expand

This is a great movie. A little bit advanced for its target children's audience, but if watched with an adult who answers a few simple questions for their child, it is completely engrossing. I thought this movie was very good. The reason a lot of people gave this movie a bad grade, is because it's a kids's movie. I liked this movie because, it was very creative and adventurous. I liked this movie because, it was very creative and adventurous. I liked the part when Noah saved Emma and Mimzy went back to the future. This was a good experience for me because it had a lot of great special effects. In this movie Emma is more powerful than Noah. Noah is smart and Emma can do amazing things like levitate rocks. "The Last Mimzy" plays like a high hippie's rebuke against the increasingly insular nature of people that technology helped beget. With a different soundtrack, some scenes would play like horror. This is the reason why "The Last Mimzy" has an off-kilter tone to it. Look for references from "Phantasm", "Poltergeist", "The Shining", and most explicitly, "The Exorcist". The story is strange, but the family isn't. Their love for each other anchors "The Last Mimzy" with a believability, even when Tibetan paintings from the tenth century and mind-controlled cockroaches are brought into the mix. Rainn Wilson(he has lucid dreams) and Kathryn Hahn(she reads palms) are endearingly kooky, but real. See this film; learn what a mandala is, and be prepared for a Syd Barrett-like riff on the Spielberg classic. Expand

Finally, new ideas, new storyline, not the same old family movie recipe--wise but harried mom, dopey dense dad and smart aleck kids. Special effects are appropriate and entertaining, acting adequate but the storyline keeps everyone entertained. What a relief--plus no parents saying "is it over yet?" Expand

OK first and foremost this film pulls no punches about being New Agey, and that was just fine by me. I could see how this would throw some, but I think it fit well with the story. I could see how this would throw some, but I think it fit well with the story. I thought the acting was quite good, especially the kid actors. They were the real stars of the show and that was how it was meant to be. The visuals were a good as one could ever expect, though I ultimately do not think what this film was about. The film underlining the theme was a message. A message of hope. In these times of global warming, terrorism, mass school killings, etc, this film was a shining ray. It really made me want to go out there and help the world in the ways needed via what I had to give. It should not be underestimated the value of this message, which is in part the reason why I gave it high marks. Yes, it was hokey at times and I made efforts to not let it spoil my overall impression, which in this case, hopefully, is a lasting one. Expand

Thought it was great. My daughter is 5 and wants to see it over and over again. Would have liked a little more detail on the rabbit and a more detailed ending but over all wonderful

I enjoyed this show, and my kids really liked it too. It kind of has quality reminiscant of E.T. or Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind. The concept was unique and interesting and the actors did a great job.

Eu acho surpreendente o filme, porém muito se poderia ter desenvolvido a metafísica e o esoterismo que são abordados no filme.
