This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After so many terrible superhero movies I'm probably rating a decent one to high. But at the very least I had genuine fun watching the Flash, a childlike grin on my face and I wasn't dying inside like in Guardians 3 or the abysmal Thor Love & Thunder. So take this review with a grain of salt.

What works for me? First and foremost the Batmans. I always like Ben Affleck in the role and he rocks Batman again. Michael Keaton is a scene stealer, it is so good seeing him in this iconic role again, to a big part he carries the movie. Sasha Calle is a surpringly good supergirl. She doesn't get the screentime she deserves, but it is easy to see, why she was cast. Most of the effects are good, once again especially everything centered around Batman. The soundtrack is pretty iconic, I liked it a lot. And I loved all the chameos, some of them are really nuts, never thought I will ever see Nic Cage playing Superman, or George Clooney as Bruce Wayne again. And finally, the movie works in blending over the top action with some heavier, emotional moments. What doesn't work? Unfortunately Ezra Miller as the Flash. He is a very limited actor, kind of a one trick pony, he only can do weird and he does the exact same weird as in e.g. the Phantastic Beasts franchise. He has some really good scenes with proper acting, but most of the time you kinda wish for Grant Gustin to take over. In addition, all people around him are very weird too, there is not a decent human being in sight. Some of the effects are terribly bad, especially the showdown. It is not PS3 level of graphics, as some are saying, but it is simply too much. And finally, the story is paper thin and very straightforward, if you are looking for something to sink your teeth in, better bring snacks.

All in all, it is not a masterpiece, but it surely is on of the best post Inifity War superhero movie out there.… Expand

Better than I thought it would be. I feel like the movie is being attacked by either people how hate Ezra Miller or people how hate that the Snyder universe is getting erased, as well as by people who did not like the marketing for this movie which claim this movie to be the best superhero movie ever.

The reality is that this movie is solid. It's not the best movie ever. But it's better than most of the Marvel phase 4 movies. It's better than Eternals, Thor 4, Ant Man Quantumania, Black widow, and better than Shazam, Black Adam, Wonder Woman 1984.

There is questionable CGI at times, that's true. But they are brief moments that don't really take away from the experience. The humor mostly lands, because of the funny things that happen to Barry, but the second Barry was kinda annoying. I liked most cameos, I like that the women in this movie are sexy and feminine. Super girl looks great and i hope she stays as super girl in the new James Gunn universe. She has a strong screen presence and for now she isn't the stereotype of Mary Sue or Girl boss that needs no man or anyone because she is better and stronger than anyone else". She is down to earth, respects men around her, she is compassionate, while still having her own agency. It would be a shame if they replaced her.

The message of the movie is: "Accept what has happened, learn from it, and use that knowledge to guide you in living your best life now".… Expand

I honestly don’t think this was that bad.
Sure, the CGI looked straight out of a PS3 game but the emotional core really was pretty great, the characters were nice, etc.
Overall though, the animated one is better for sure.

Great movie with heart, humour, and a decent plot taking elements from Flashpoint and Convergence. Maybe I'm just a sucker for speedster-type superheroes, but this is a decently fun movie... Even with Ezra Miller's latent creep factor and the uncanny valley CGI that makes you want to take your own eyes.

He soon however finds that altering time and the past has its consequences. Having just caught an early access preview for this one, I didn't expect much going into it. This is mostly due to the fact that I'm just so burnt out on DC and superhero films in general, especially with the multiverse concept. And while there are some fun and decent moments to be had here, none of it really adds up to being anything too worthwhile. While it was great to see Michael Keaton return after over 30 years as Batman, and even seeing Supergirl (Sasha Calle) make an appearance, the film's story and timelines are all a literal mess and so not worth the headache trying to follow all the plot points and action. Furthermore, the slow-motion scenes throughout are cheesy and ridiculous at best. Overall, while it boasts an all-star roster for sure (besides Keaton, Batfleck, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and a whole host of other cameos and Easter Eggs towards the end make things somewhat interesting), it's simply not enough to overcome the typical loud and lackluster story and action I've come to expect from DC.… Expand

Good but far shy of great. I think my kid said it best. If the Flash is changing timelines and opening up the multiverse, then have Grant Gustin show up as the alternate Flash. Some of my issues are with the star, Ezra Miller. He does frenetic and tragic well, but this actor is a lot to take in. Knowing about the star’s interstate crime spree doesn’t help. Two Ezra Millers is just too much. Ezra and Grant would been a more watchable duo.

My other issues are with the effects and the poor choices of how to use them. For recreating people, they left the uncanny valley and went back to 1995’s Pixar. For the big fight, they brought back Zod. Been there. Saw that. Wow me with something new. For the time travel scenes, they created some kind of colosseum of computer animated people and had Ezra run backwards. It’s at least better than seeing a bunch of clocks. The best of the movie is Micheal Keaton’s Batman. I wasn’t sold on him as Batman in 1989, but I am now. Make an Old Man Batman movie and I’ll pay $60 for the whole family to see it in the theater.… Expand

Generally when it comes to cgi I never complain but not only was it at times quite bad... it was everywhere... I can't think of another film quite so dependent on cgi. There are some good moments in this film and some excellent performances. I really enjoyed Michael Keaton as Batman, he nailed it. Also, Sasha Calle played supergirl perfectly in my opinion. All in all not a bad film but not something I'd rewatch. I was pretty hyped for this one but it's a bad start to the new DCU, particularly unfortunate since Marvel has been losing steam lately in my opinion.… Expand

This movie is already bombing too, WB needs to forget about retaining any DCEU characters and do a full reboot. This film just came out way too late to be relevant in the Snyderverse, and people won't care about a movie that won't matter going forward.… Expand

The CGI and special effects really raise questions, as their quality varies throughout the film in a very odd way, particularly in the first quarter. Some scenes are beautiful while others are simply disgusting. The Flash suit especially suffers in here, appearing in an awful plastic way. In addition to that, it is far from being great. The realisation somehow lacks a bit to be desired with few notable useless scenes, jerky and/or ugly action sequences and confusing scenes. The soundtrack is cool, with some spacy orchestral touches.

In the end, it feels like this film was meant to be a high point and a huge impact in the franchise, but its inability to remain direct and coherent cause it to fail from time to time, even though it doesn't fail to be entertaining.… Expand

The opening hospital sequence showed promise.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. the cgi is terrible it looks like a ps2 cutscene when he goes back in time and everything freezes around him. Ezra is annoying 2 times more no thanks to hack synder for casting this clown in the first place. the story drags along and it doesn't pick up the pace until a half hour in. speaking of dragging keaton and Sasha Calle is the only highlight of this movie and carried this movie in the 2nd half of this flim. Sasha Calle is the perfect Supergirl (no feminist agenda, no sjw none of that propaganda) it was all character growth and willingness to help. however this is where the spoilers come in so after Ezra's flash went back in time to save his mother bcuz his father was failed from the justice system due to the camera footage that would've confirmed his alibi but due to the footage being damaged they court was going to find him guilty so Barry want back in time not only to prevent his mother from being killed over a can of tomatoes but save his father as well. the trailers pretty much spoiled the rest of the plot and the 2nd half of the movie. future Barry got past barry to reenact to get past barry to get electrocuted to get his powers in doing so future barry lost his powers so he spent 20 minutes trying to get keaton to electrocute him after the introduction of keaton's bruce wayne alot of nods to jack Nicolson's joker including the laughing teeth i love the subtle references and homage to 89 and returns batman movies in burtonverse. i love those parts but here's my problems with the movie so far keaton's bruce wayne has long grey hair was a drunk can i imagine tim burton ever doing that too his batman NO i just don't see burton bruce wayne being an alcoholic and there's no much told on what happened to him and dark flash is that punch barry is how he go into this universe and landed exactly where he needed to get too, how convenient. and he see too old ppl walking together and nobody else is around to see him use his flash powers to steal their clothes so he can wear to see his mother alive and his father out of trouble, how convenient. and as soon as his parents sees him nobody questions anything strange that their son is wearing female and t-shirt and a baggy brown pant that can barely fit him, how convenient. and then when future barry saw past barry his excuse to going outside was literally "i have to take a s*** outside excuse me" first off who tf says that to their parents??? and second how did his parents not just see past barry directly in front of them since the curtain on the window was open and he was literally waving at them only for a spit second before barry tackles him and they didn't see him, because barry use his powers?, how convenient. if u saw the trailers then u saw the entire second half of the movie but for spoilers yes, clerk kent is dead in this universe apparently zod killed him before he made it to earth, but that's not my problem with this move the problem is killing off Sasha Calle's supergirl 10 times bcuz of zack's version of barry allen is incompetent, so she kept dying in a repeating cycle that's what caused past barry to become dark flash it's LAME! for those two reasons then it gets worse bcuz they killed keaton's batman twice in seconds like why bring him back and on top of that they replaced keaton with clooney at the end. this is the biggest F U to all of burton verse batman fans because we waited for 30-40 years to finally get keaton to become batman again just for him to get killed off and get replace by Clooney. this is a TERRIBLE FAN FILM!… Expand

The Flash is an over ambitious project that had the capability to be one of the best superhero stories ever told, atleast on paper, but fails miserably in execution in all departments leading to a final product that feels rushed, incomplete,The Flash is an over ambitious project that had the capability to be one of the best superhero stories ever told, atleast on paper, but fails miserably in execution in all departments leading to a final product that feels rushed, incomplete, unsatisfying and mediocre. Ezra Miller delivers his career best performance, yet it's not enough to keep the viewer engaged as everyone surrounding him feels like a robot rather than characters, who are programmed to deliver nostalgic and crowd pleasing dialogues.

I am pretty sure there is a 3 hour cut of this film, with less humour and more fleshed out character arcs that does justice to this script, because there is something truly special in this movie, that gets buried under a series of crowd pleasing but mediocre decisions.

With all that being said , the events in the last 15 mins are actually executed really well and will be a treat for any DC fan to watch on the big screen.

Ps- This movie features the worst post credit scene I have seen in my life.… Expand

When they mentioned the CGI was bad, they weren't joking, this is The Mummy 2001 level bad.
I was laughing at how bad the CGI was literally, about 70%-90% is completely CGI.

Before I carry on, Understand I do not care what criminal offences Ezra Miller Committed, I'm here to rate a film based on my opinion, not to be Judge Judy. (And yes, I don't like Ezra Miller for what he has done, obviously).

Anyway, Ok, I get the idea behind the scenes, the over plot is solid, it really is, even its implementation, it's just the CGI ruins every single scene they use it in. Of course, there are scenes where it's clean and not noticeable but those go by in a FLASH.

Enough about me ranting about the CGI, what about the rest of the film, is the Story, Characters, Plot, and Pacing somewhat tolerable?

People Are not gonna like me saying this, but YES, it actually is Solid besides that the movie starts up so fast making you unable to stop and breathe, but there are a lot of slower moments too, where I fell back in line.

So basically this is a solid movie just with bad CGI and Pacing Issues, and maybe a bit too much nostalgia, look I'd watch a Nick Cage Superman Movie any day, but Seriously that is just WB, the Directors and the Writers, giving what the audience wants to see, Only that its all in CGI mostly. WB your audience isn't Blinded by nostalgia.

Nostalgia /= 10/10 movie, it just means you have nothing more to show, so you just find something that people like and put it in.

Ratings:
CGI: 2/10, It's there, It's funny, and it ain't good, besides some really short shots.

Story & Plot: 7/10, Surprisingly, good? Yeah, I'm confused as well.

Characters: 7/10, Good as well, not all the characters are fleshed out but it is enough I guess.

Action: 8/10, It is good ACtion But Ruined by CGI, All the shots are filmed well, but that CGI man, slaps you in the face hard.

Pacing: 5/10, Its Starts up Fast, but then eases in, and then fast again then it ends.

Nostalgia: 9/10, It's overflowing, but I minus 1 point for my boi Henry Cavil, WB Did him Dirty, (And since you're head of DC now, MR Gunn, this includes you).

So the Final Rating is a uh, a 7 or a 6, yeah this one is a tough one because I see the bones, I see what was trying to be done, I think the scenes are well executed but, I know I keep on Blaming CGI, but believe me here, It takes you out and ruins the movie by a lot.

I've been sitting here thinking and conflicted for more than 20 minutes. F*ck ok, there are fans like me that want to see MKs Batman, and there are other people that have never watched any of those films, I will go with 6/10. I will go with the denominator, meaning, I have to consider someone that has no clue about the DC universe. This movie is a 6/10.
It is above average it is watchable but it's really up to you if you're into it or not. If you like Good CGI, at least the bare minimum F&F levels then yeah, You might hate this film.

WB has screwed up their own franchises, and DC has a chance to destroy Marvel and Disney but for some reason unknown to Zod, they haven't taken it yet.
James Gunn Better bring his A-game cause I am losing what little Hope I have for Live Action DC Content.

DC animation though is still going strong (Mostly). If you read this, then Good Job, It really means something to me, if not well then I'll see you for the Blue Beetle Review (Oh god I sense something Bad brewing).… Expand

É realmente incômodo ver o the flash se entregar ao padrões de Shazam, muito do que tendo a pegada sombria do Batman ou do Coringa, injetando um amontoado de piadinhas adolescentes. E para completar, o multiveros visitado é muito linear, basicamente uma ou outra função ou aparência são mudadas, feito como se estivesse a toque de caixa para homenagear o elenco diversificado.
Com isso, temos um longa de fácil digestão do roteiro, mas a execução acelerada prejudica o todo, as piadas nem todas funcionam.
O ponto positivo e que destaca foi o efeito dado quando o flash executa seus movimentos e frações de segundo, ora a câmera opta por mostrar seus passos (em câmera lenta e com todos azulados neon, ficasdo realmente bonitas de ver), ora já segue para a execução dos passo, como na cena em que ele consegue o acesso ao computador instantaneamente mas avisa que digitou todas as combinações de senha antes. Fantástico uso cênico do espaço-tempo.
Mas é só exigir um pouco mais do roteiro que o filme cai no lugar comum, e as homenagens não emocionam nem acrescentam ao enredo.Nesse quesito, o multiverso de animação do homem-aranha dá uma aula em toda e qualquer proposta que trabalhe o tema, não apenas pelo acuro com a jornada mas pela boa construção do clima.
Perceba como aqui, em cenas chaves, tudo é muito resolvido, e o filme desacelera somente nas cenas finais dele com a mãe, soando frias, porque o terreno não fora preparado de forma adequada.
Ainda assim não é um filme ruim. Longe disso. O filme diverte, e tem uma série de homenagens que, tirando o clima de uma homenagem forçada para alguns, em outros realmente funcionam, Michael Keaton por exemplo está excepcional.
Vale muito conferir nas telonas, os efeitos quando o flash usa seus poderes ficaram lindos de se ver, e algumas brincadeiras e ações derivadas do fato de agir em milésimos de segundos ficaram criativas.
Poderia ter um roteiro mais firme, tinha muito potencial para isso. E nem falo do tom sombrio. Filmes como "Guardiões da galáxia" conseguem muito bem entregar um roteiro sólido com diversão e correria. É preciso a DC adotar também a linha mais acurada, especialmente no Shazam. Pelo menos este aqui ainda está na linha do tolerável.… Expand

"The Flash" is a jumbled mess that leaves viewers with mixed feelings and disappointment. I couldn't agree more about the ridiculous scenes and laughable CGI, which unfortunately drowned the film in a world of absurdity.

Let's start with the technical aspects. The CGI in The Flash is perplexing and laughable. It is far from the level of expectation from modern cinematic projects. This is extremely disappointing, especially considering that the film is based on a comic book about a superhero that requires high-level special effects.

One of The Flash's biggest problems is its weak and poorly developed script. The plot seems to have potential, but it gets tangled up in ridiculous logic and silly character decisions. Viewers get confusion instead of an engaging and understandable narrative. Young Flash is unfortunately overplayed and comes across as unbearably annoying. Perhaps this was intended to create a certain character, but such a move just starts to get on the audience's nerves, which is not a good sign for the film.

There are a huge number of cameos in the film, though some of them are short and look like homages to DC films of yesteryear, and some just serve to remind you that the film is definitely in the DCEU and shouldn't be missed.

Likewise, the theme of the multiverse is poorly handled, adding it into one film was clearly a bad idea. If the competitors in the form of Marvel have not yet managed to fully disclose it in 5 or more projects, then DC in one two-hour film and even more so.

"The Flash" failed miserably at the box office, causing WBD huge losses. Was it deserved? Unequivocally. The film is a total mess, referencing past DC films and unceremoniously destroying Zack Snyder's highly conceptual cinematic universe.

A weak script, ridiculous scenes, and poor CGI make this film a failed project that would have been better avoided. If you're looking for a quality entertaining film, "The Flash" is clearly not the best choice.

Overall, "The Flash" turned out to be an under-done and disappointing project. Despite some bright moments and some good acting by the actors, it can't hide the pile of problems with the plot, characters and tone of the film. As a result, viewers have to switch off their brains and see The Flash as a ridiculous attempt to entertain for one evening. The film is completely deserving of criticism and leaves a feeling of missed potential and poor cinematic execution.

I want to start with what I liked about the film. -The 2 Barrys; the difference in maturity was well displayed

-scenes of tension and heart managed to hit well enough.
Now what I did not like:
-a bit of the Barrys, the younger Barry was constantly on the border between fine and painful. I think they could have eased up on him. -The effects; some VFX shots were well implemented, but there was an awful lot of uncanny valley going on. I get that some were intentional, but ouch.
-I absolutely hated the design of the first action set piece in Gotham. I don't think I can express properly how much I hated that first sequence without spoiling things. At the end of the day, it was an okay movie, which lands right in the middle for me. I didn't my time, but I also wouldn't go out of my to watch this again.… Expand

This legitimately might be the ugliest movie I've ever seen. That is not an exaggeration or hyperbole. At the very least, it's the ugliest movie I've seen recently. There's some Batman stuff early in the movie that looks fine. That's as good as it gets. The CG is abysmal. Flash's suit looks terrible. Ezra Miller looks like a bobblehead in the suit. The colors are all washed out and bland.

I've seen people praise the performances for this movie. I did enjoy Michael Keaton and his work here, but some of the others just didn't do it for me. I thought Ezra Miller's performances were fine. They both checked the boxes, but they didn't do much of anything else. I never really bought them as Barry Allen or The Flash here. For a piece of garbage human being, Miller's performance as the more obnoxious Allen was better than the older, more mature one. Sasha Calle's performance teetered between bad and fine. Thankfully her character wasn't in the movie long.

About the only praise I'm willing to give the movie is that I liked certain aspects of how the time travel stuff was handled in its terrible third act. Instead of running years back in time, trying to run back a few minutes to change smaller things was a cute little idea. It didn't really go anywhere, but to be fair, neither did this entire movie.… Expand

The Flash is sort of an attempt a la No Way Home and In The Multiverse of Madness that in no way tries to reboot things for what's to come with James Gunn, it just seems like there was already too much money invested in this movie that had to be finished and released one way or another. Including the huge problem that Ezra Miller became. And the biggest problem is that unlike what Marvel did, which made everything look organic. In The Flash it seems like they just wanted to see how much they could cram into the plot and call it a day.

The plot sucks. The visual effects are terrible. Staggeringly appalling.
Their Supergirl is worse than useless, and the inclusion of Michael Keaton as Batman is an embarrassment done purely with the intention of manipulating audiences who will admit that he is the reason they will watch the movie and not Flash who is the main character.

The problem with DC/Warner since Man of Steel is that there was never a clear direction of what they wanted to do or where they were going and this movie is another cruel example of that. There are still two movies to go before Gunn presents what he's planning and clearly these don't mean **** anymore, but I really want to think that what he has in mind has to be better than this. It has to be. It demands to be better. I think the only winner here was Andy Muschietti who came out with a brand new job to direct the upcoming Batman movie. But after watching this one I'm not sure it was a good choice.
And even worse for him, because he will be compared mercilessly to whatever Matt Reeves does in The Batman 2. What a huge disappointment, but you could see it coming from all sides.… Expand

Les dialogues et les personnages sont gênants, c'est un peu comme si tout le monde était réellement stupide dans ce film. La plupart des personnages sont objectivement de gros déchets. Tout est plat, rien ne ressort, aucun symbole, aucune iconographie, aucune subtilité, aucun amour pour les personnages. Il y avait pourtant la possibilité de faire quelque chose de génial (et c'est étrangement voulu). C'est une réelle opportunité manqué, un beau gâchis. Les seuls points positifs sont Supergirl, que j'ai trouvé convaincante même si la réalisation qui l'entoure n'est pas à la hauteur et quelques clins d'œil sympa pour les fans même s'ils sont souvent mal amenés. Zack Snyder va beaucoup manquer à l'univers cinématographique de DC Comics car on pouvait ressentir sa passion et son amour pour les personnages et la mythologie qui les entoure. It will get you where you are going, but it is hardly first class service.

Story is just a discounted Flashpoint. Original had some flare, but whoever adapted it did not have the chops to do it anywhere as good as original.
Its watchable and it will let you thru 2+ hours without falling asleep. But i have no interest in revisiting it again.… Expand

Die Spannung ist leider nicht wirklich gegeben die gesamte Handlung wurde eigentlich im Trailer bereits aufgegriffen und daher hat sich der Film so bekannt und alt angeführt das war leider echt nicht gut DC.

Not awful, but if you're paying to see this movie, you need to significantly lower your expectations.

The "I made it myself" CGI used throughout the movie, particularly when The Flash(es) have entered the speed force, or are viewing alternate universes, is unforgivably poor.
The general plotline isn't bad, but it's let down by a tone that jumps around more than House of Pain, and effects that don't support the director's vision. It's not a bad film, but it is badly presented.… Expand

There really isn't character development or any specific goal other than 'assemble the alternate Justice League'. Once that happens, they all fail miserably and die. Michael Keeton is in the movie, which is just about all you can really say about his inclusion; he doesn't do anything outside of die (twice) in the finale. There really isn't much to think about afterward, it's really bland and forgettable. I saw it on opening day and am having trouble even recalling what happens to write this.… Expand

To keep it short and sweet, watch it at home when it's available. This isn't worth the expense of going out to watch but it's a mildly fun night in if you lower your expectations. A definitive flop and low point for DC. Some of the subjectively worst CGI I have seen in a film and one of Hollywood's most problematic actors make this film extremely unwatchable.

The Flash is a hero I adore from the comics. It is crazy that it took this long for him to have a live-action movie. Unfortunately, the DCEU Flash movie went through development hell. Unfortunately, the DCEU Flash movie went through development hell. It had multiple directors leave the project, multiple delays, multiple reshoots, the Ezra controversy, and constant changes in leadership at WB. Despite all these shenanigans, does this movie manage to deliver a great Flash movie?

Firstly, they do deliver some strong and emotional moments. It's hard to be angry at Flash for wanting to save his mother and prove his Dad innocent. Seeing Flash cope with the unintended butterfly effects of going back in time and saving his mother, is a great concept. Barry's desperation to save this timeline because his mother still lives is powerful stuff. It has a heartfelt story of grief which I liked. Funny enough, Ezra has great chemistry with himself. Ezra plays the original and new timeline Barry who both interact with each other throughout the movie. I like the contrast between a slightly more mature and serious original Barry compared to the younger whiny new Barry. There are some genuinely funny moments between the two. I am also impressed by how convincingly they made it seem like there were 2 Ezras on set.

One of the biggest selling points of this movie is Michael Keaton's return as Batman. It is great seeing him again even though his performance can feel a bit stiff and wooden. I was worried about how they could convince me that a 70-year-old Batman would still be capable of fighting. However, the action scenes with him are awesome and very enjoyable. Ben Affleck also returns as DCEU Batman for 1 last time. He is not in it for long but he is good as well. His action scenes are pretty entertaining and his scene with Barry is a highlight. The music score by Benjamin Wallfisch is wonderful and I love how he incorporates the classic Danny Elfman Batman theme. The greatest part though is Sasha Calle as Supergirl. She is terrific despite not being in it for long. I also think the costume team nailed the Michael Keaton Batsuits and the Supergirl suit as they both look exceptional!

Unfortunately, the Ben Affleck Batsuit looks terrible. It is ugly and doesn't even feel like a proper Batsuit. Likewise, the Flash suit just doesn't look great. It looks too polished and very plastic looking. There are scenes where it looks like a guy in a giant red condom rather than a proper superhero suit. On that note, I am very mixed about Ezra Miller as Flash. He was all right in Zack Snyder's Justice League as he was more of a supporting role with a better script. However, his performance in this film comes off as way more obnoxious and annoying. It doesn't help that new timeline Barry is meant to be annoying on purpose but the result is both Barry's are infuriating. He does deliver during the more emotional moments but at other times, not so much. I am also very disappointed in the action scenes with the 'Flash'. While the Batman action is awesome, the action scenes with Flash are just not that satisfying. They are bland to look at, especially when compared to speedster scenes from X-Men and even Avengers. The 3rd act in this movie is a little overwhelming with the amount of things going on. There are some things concerning the multiverse that occurs as well but feels kind of contradictory to the rules set. I also find the ending terrible and contradicts the whole message of the movie. Additionally, they do something in the ending that raises more questions than answers and feels a little dumb if they are rebooting the universe. My major gripe though, is the atrociously bad CGI. A lot of the shots in this film look very ugly thanks to poor CGI. Some scenes look like it is straight out of a video game than a movie. They also use it to recreate people's likeness including dead people and it is disgusting to look at. Overall, what a massive disappointment this ended up being. You can see some element of great in it but it is all overshadowed by the bad. It is sad to see how poor the last couple of entries in the old DCEU are. It makes me more appreciative of James Gunn rebooting the DCEU. We still have 1 proper DCEU movie left with Aquaman 2 but my hopes aren't high.… Expand

Boring. What to write here exactly? I'm just glad I was working on something else while it played in the background. Some people really spent 2+ hours of their lives in a movie theatre focused on this with all their attention. Hard to believe.

Plus, the cinematography has never been worse. It REALLY doesn't take long before you can't stand seeing The Flash's dumb face in wide angle anymore.

I literally LOL'd in the first 3 mins at how bad it was, and the first 10-15 mins make for some of the stupidest things ever put in a movie. Extremely bad as a whole, but it kept me entertained - just not in the way they intended it. So much ridiculous and bad looking stuff going on, I couldn't help but keep laughing the whole time.

Ezra Miller (and his character Barry) is abrasive and genuinely seems like the worst possibly person to be around. T'was nice seeing Michael Keaton in the batsuit again, but an actor of that caliber has no place in such a trainwreck.. I hope he got a good paycheck.

Do not EVER pay to see this movie; pirate it and get drunk and you'll have a good time.

There is zero doubt in my mind that you have to be low IQ to give a sincere good score to such garbage. Made by childish simpletons, for childish simpletons. Funko pop movie making.… Expand

Ezra Miller's, ahem, "situation" most definitely had an impact on The Flash's box office. DC hasn't had much luck ever since the (mostly) undeserved backlash against Man of Steel, while I'm not the biggest fan of Zack Snyder, his take onEzra Miller's, ahem, "situation" most definitely had an impact on The Flash's box office. DC hasn't had much luck ever since the (mostly) undeserved backlash against Man of Steel, while I'm not the biggest fan of Zack Snyder, his take on Superman (and Batman in BvS) was fine, minus the excessively action packed third act and the way Jonathan Kent dies.
WB has faced with six flops in a row: Birds of Prey, Wonder Woman 1984, The Suicide Squad, Black Adam, Shazam FotG and now The Flash, The Batman barely made any money, its budget ballooned thanks to all the delays, since Aquaman, their only undeniable hit was Joker.
Constant need for "course correction" has turned a solid start to a Superman trilogy into a mess more convoluted than Fox's X-Men franchise.

Miller's Barry Allen walks a fine line between endearing and annoying, Barry's quest to save his mother (and father) should've been the only focus of the story, the consequences for his noble deed become devastating to the reality itself.
Superman doesn't exist in this timeline and Earth is defenseless against the Kryptonian invasion, but there's Supergirl, oh, and Michael Shannon is back as Zod to duke it out with her. This a superhero flick, folks, we gotta have a big action set piece.
Sasha Calle was really good as Supergirl/Kara Zor-El, I wasn't sold on her when I saw the trailers, however, she is introduced very late into the movie and is more of a plot device (btw, so is Keaton, just with extra screen-time) for the two Barrys to accept that sometimes they have to let go.

Regardless of my love for Batman 89 and Batman Returns, I was very sceptical of Keaton reprising his role and unfortunately I was right to be doubtful. This is not Tim Burton's Batman (of course it isn't, how could it be). BUT! you might say: Danny Elfman's iconic theme is there, memberberry quotes (out of context) are there, the suit, Batcave, Batwing, Batmobile, Joker's laughing bag and the Wayne Manor are all there.
So, how is this not Burton's Batman? BurtonBat doesn't fight in zoom-in/zoom-out slo-mo and battle superpowered Kryptonians, in spite of all the fantastical elements Burton added to the mythos, BurtonBat is still very much human, also, he's a loner, no other heroes exist in his two movies. Michael Keaton is basically playing Ben Affleck's Batman, even though Affleck is right there and his burly Batman is far more suitable for such action scenes.
In other words, the filmmakers threw in some surface-level references to Burton's Batman without much care of how they (don't) fit in with the style of this movie and the overall pseudo-realism of the DCEU, for nostalgia baiting.
You might read or hear that WB killed off the "Burtonverse". Those people must have watched a different movie. The only thing they killed off is a DCEU version of Keaton's Batman.

Now comes the worst part. We are treated with cameos of the DC roaster, played by real and CG actors. Helen Slater and the late Christopher Reeve, both CG, the not-so-late CG Nicolas Cage recreating a scene from a Superman movie that doesn't even exist (for the memes. GIANT ROBOT SPIDER!) and to top it all off, (a real) George Clooney appears as Bruce Wayne for the lulz. I was surprised Christian Bale didn't make a cameo, I mean, he isn't above starring in crappy superhero movies *cough*ThorLoveandThunder*cough*. So, Christian, why no cameo? You think you're too good for The Flash?

This movie, once again, proves that WB is no better than Marvel in how they treat their creatives.… Expand

An utter disappointment, the CGI looked straight out of Heavy Rain, the story is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen and also makes zero sense, Ezra Miller is such a terrible actor that you dread ever having to see him in another movie and while jokes work for the character of Flash, they weren't good here and Gal Gadot had an uncharacteristic acting blunder in this film. Her cameo gave everyone second hand embarrassment... I think Kara is done well, same for Michael Keaton's Batman but other than that, an absolute nightmare of a movie. The ending sucks and also makes no sense, "I moved the tomatoes up and fricked up the multiverse again but I didn't think that basically making the same mistake again would have consequences" Just a terrible film overall, this was also a blunder by PenguinZ0, calling it a good film...… Expand

Man, Just finished watching it for the second time and holy **** its awful. The CGI and the way characters moved look so floaty and cartoony. I was looking forward to Gal Gadot and Ben Affleck's cameo, but of course its a stupid joke. Michael Keaton's batman was good but his writing was horrible. The only other non batman scene that I enjoyed was when Supergirl saves the helicopter and Zods walks through it... We finally get a Flash movie after 9 years of development and this is what they have to show. 50 scripts later, thousands of reshoots later lol. Don't waste your time and money especially if you are a fan of the flash and DC as a whole. If you enjoyed this film I'm legitimately happy for you. You're obviously not a fan of these characters or there source material to understand why this movie is dreadful but hey to each there own. WB will make more money selling the rights to DC than making mediocre movies. I honestly feel bad for the directors and crew that have worked with WB on their DCEU. Good luck to James Gunn but I personally don't care for any upcoming DC film besides The Batman. I am a bigger fan of DC over Marvel but honestly both company are making a mockery of themselves at the moment. If you ever feel like watching a flash movie just go watch Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox. Its basically the same story but better written.… Expand

It comes across as kind of psychotic and disingenuous. For some reason i don't believe the words he is saying. Furthermore my god his character is annoying. The plot was bland and has many, many hero clichés. like the hero losing his powers for the whole movie until the last act. the Cliche of the hero having a huge liability he has to carry around for the rest of the film until he finally gets rid of it to solve the problem. the "i know better than everyone else" cause I'm a hero cliche. on and on it goes being extremely predictable. The supporting actors are a breath of fresh air from the droll of the main character. But even that isn't enough to save this movie. This movie was essentially a bad retelling of flashpoint from the DC comics. The worst part is while they went through to change a couple actors they didnt even bother doing us all a favor and killing off the main actor and replacing him with a new one.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The movie has a terrible CGI, I guess it has been made by the same studio that did the Superman's mustache scene. 250 million dolar is the amount of money someone stole from this studio.
The plot is explained faster than his main character can run, a really bad way to let people understand the importance of Barry's actions. It's like the audience must come to watch the movie just knowing everything about every character and hero. They haven't respected the main enemy of The Flash... Reverse Flash, any word about this. I guess Barry's mother was stabbed by herself.
The best part of the movie is the cameos, there are 2 of them that are going to make your brain explodes. None of the heroes are the Zack Snyder's heroes, in this movie all of them seem to had made by/for kids, they act like stupids, jokes everywhere and shame in every line they say. Right now I can confirm WB has a personal problem against Henry Cavill.
Zack Snyder made something really important for this characters that only time people will apreciate.
What a terrible mistake is not let the 2 main actors of The Flash and Supergirl series of The CW were here.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The audacity to add Keaton’s Batman only to kill him off is maddening. If starring two Ezra’s wasn’t bad enough. I can’t recommend this movie. It might have a couple funny moments but it’s a mess of ideas and ultimately disappointing.

But the trailers/spoilers let this film down, as the film was fairly predictable. Sadly, and I mean this, there was something here that could have been great. Nods to earlier films (MoS) could have meant something if the universe was continuing. But the DCEU here is still suffering from the damage caused by JL17. (Whedon)
As a send off to those characters, it was quite disrespectful. Having a Superman sized hole that wasn’t filled.

Some obviously bad rubbery CGI that was noticeable and garish. It felt like it took cues from Marvel with how the humour and soundtrack was used. The big finale was a let down, having some BIG cameos and suggesting what the ‘Worlds of DC’ (remember that?) looks like. But they amounted to nothing. Just a couple of fleeting video game cutaways. Emotionless and hollow they come and go and don’t really try to say anything. They could have been so much more!
The crazy thing is I felt the CW did it better (and cheaper)… Expand
