Decent movie, even though Melissa Rauch was annoying at times and I don't mean just her voice. Yes, her character is meant to be like that, but at parts it was just me disliking it instead of being funny what it's meant to be. The Bronze is little enjoyment that manages to fail us but continues to live its glory on. Now what I expect was these following things: Great directing, great acting, great producing. Melissa Rauch is best known from "The Big Bang Theory" (which I've never watched), so I wasn't familiar with her work. From the "raunchy" style of this script, I assumed she was a comic who likes to say **** in every sentence. From the "raunchy" style of this script, I assumed she was a comic who likes to say **** in every sentence. Now, I'm guessing that's the script (which she co-wrote with her husband who took her last name), so she's still responsible. She plays a former Olympic Bronze medalist who's coasting on her glory 14 years later. She's also totally self-involved, spoiled and out of touch with reality. While this is sometimes funny (and often relies on her deadpan foul-mouthed delivery), it's mostly off-putting because she's so despicable. Actually, Tom Middleditch (best known for "Silicon Valley," which I DO watch) has the best comic moments. The plot is predictable: she's forced to help an upcoming gymnast train for the games and finds her own heart in the process. There's a romping pace and enough jokes that land to make it mildly enjoyable, even though Rauch's mean-spirited character is such a dick. Expand

Some guy who directed a bunch of superbowl commercials made a feature, but it wasn't that funny, and while some of the visuals looked "cool" to look at...the actual story and main characters were completely lacking, leaving it very underwhelming, not that funny, a bit boring in parts, and just not that great overall. I did like a few of the jokes, and esp the awkward Verizon guy as a supporting character were probably the best parts of the film. Other than that it wasn't really a funny comedy nor a true drama and failed at both really. I liked it slightly but it could have been much better, and was a bit dissapointing. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Caught The Bronze on STARZ and had a mixed reaction to it. The movie felt like there was an actual real story in there somewhere; but it got lost from too many wanna be over the top funny moments that ended up feeling like it was too much. It's a somewhat decent first screenwriting effort from Melissa Rauch and her husband. Acting wise there isn't a bad performance in the cast. Rauch makes Hope a love to hate character with some actual funny and touching moments in there. Her and Thomas Middleditch are charming together; and you gotta feel for his character Ben "Twitchy", who is a sweetheart. It's hard to not think that he deserves better, until Hope starts working on redemption. Haley Lu Richardson is adorable as Maggie; and Gary Cole is a scene stealer as Hope's father. The biggest movie letdown is that Sebastian Stan is not given that much to do. This movie came out after the first two Captain America movies. Yet a little movie like this can't give The Winter Soldier actor something to really do. If it weren't for the gymnastics sex scene, then this movie would be a waste of time for his fans. On a grade scale I give this movie a C. Would I watch it again? Yes, because it is a guilty pleasure. It's not anything more then that though. Expand

Tiene buenos chistes, entretiene, la historia esta agil pq dura poco la peli, pero es predecible, todo es inventado, y todos actuan mal. La escena de sex, creo es lo más original del mundo.
