Despite the accolades I feel compelled to warn you that this is a terribly paced film, with a running time well over two hours but with a story that could be conveyed easily in an hour episode — really over one beer in a Spanish pub. The cast is strong, the natural scenery great, and the story is completely credible. But the dim lighting, artistic password for a creepy Euro-thriller, as well as a lack of incident for its length, combine to make it not worth a foray to the local Bijou. Thematically, the story arguably works, too, but there’s no new take on the circumstances. The plot is an old one, so one’s patience is doubly taxed for no real payoff.… Expand
