The voice cast has great cred, including Sam Rockwell, Awkwafina and Craig Robinson and they have distinct characters. There's lots of fast-paced energy and upbeat exuberance, but there aren't many truly funny moments. Even so, young audiences will probably find plenty to enjoy.… Expand

the animation itself is good, but i just felt it was very generic all the way through. like ive seen it before from someone else.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I don't usually write reviews with spoilers, but the villain really didn't need a partner. He already had an assistant so I don't know why he would share 1 billion dollars with someone else who joined up at the very end of the caper and contributed nothing. Second, it's just a cartoon, but apparently there are animals that talk and also animals of the same species that do not and are dumb animals. It's an OK movie, but nothing you haven't seen before. It's no masterpiece.… Expand

The Bad Guys is a lot of fun, and one of the best Dreamworks films in years. It's exciting, energetic and lively, accompanied by the most unique and stylish animation I've ever seen from the studio. Meh, lazy animations and just an ok story The Bad Guys is not bad but also not good, my expectetion was actually lower about this in fact The Bad Guys have cool and fun characthers!...and that's it

Just watched this movie, the plot is insanely predictable, and the animation is nice when it's up close to the characters. The overall plot sounds like something made by a 6th grader and "Butt" jokes don't help this animation at all. There are no purely deep and passionate moments compared to films like Kung Fu Panda, Megamind, or even Boss Baby etc. The characters and their development are predictable, and the jokes probably don't hit well for anyone over 15+ so this film is definitely for children (I laughed out loud once during the middle of the film and that was it). So is this a bad film? Well, it's entertaining at best but don't expect anything out of it. Overall it's ok, not something to go and rush out to see. *Shout out to the "Where's Wally?" looking character.… Expand
