Terrible, contrived screenplay and just an unoriginal piece of garage from start to finish. Characters are awful, the effects are overcooked and distracting, and did I mention the story makes absolutely no sense. It is so cringeworthy and tiresome I had trouble sitting through the whole thing. It seems as if this movie was made to evoke feelings of nostalgia and excitement, but all I got out of it was a knot in my stomach, a migraine caused from my eyes rolling in the back of my head, and a feeling that this movie was incredibly pandering and insulting. Please for your own benefit, if you are a film lover, avoid this one.… Expand

Boring..
Pretty done with Ryan Reynolds acting by now. Guy has no range at all and plays the same dude as in Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place.

Story was.. zzzz. lame.. predictable.. zzzzzz
Almost fell asleep and was scrubbing the last 30 min.

Boring. So incredibly ordinary. Nothing original or exciting. It's not woefully bad but it's inexplicably below average. Waste of a good cast. Kind of shocked this is getting ok reviews. One of the most bland, uninspiring, flavorless and pointless movies I have seen recently. A good cast actually, and sure RR's quips are always amusing and worth a laugh...but the plot and story wasKind of shocked this is getting ok reviews. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Smartass kids are created by adults for adult consumption, so the younger version of the hero feels like a contrived violation. Also, you can't take a song like Boston's Foreplay/Long Time and cut it into pieces without committing musical sacrilege. Very awkward.… Expand
