Clear increase
The first film was Turtles is still inconsequential and lame. Everything was flat and barren.
Here the story finally got even more space and the effects were reduced. Bay finally gets the hang of it.

Much better than the first reboot.
It has Krang in it, Rocksteady, Bebop, Humor, Action, 80's references and April o'neil is hot.
Considering that is an adolescience filx based on a 80's cartoon for child it does his job proprerly.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The film is mostly a good film with lots of action sequences with a few comedic moments here and there. The film is definitely better than the last although Shredder did seem a bit under powered than last time because (!!SPOILER ALERT!!) Krang just freezes him and Krang seems a bit less powerful than Shredder was in the first. Why didn't Shredder just kill Krang when he had the chance? And also they expect you to know who Bebop and Rocksteady are and what they do and all that stuff. But overall this movie was pretty great and I might pick this up on the DVD or on the Blu-Ray. It’s not a good film but it’s not awful. If you are a Ninja Turtles fan and if the first film put you off I would recommend you give it a go. They get the Turtles down pretty well and there is a decent story here, if a very flawed one at that (especially when the climax rips off the climax of The Avengers). It, however, is not a great movie. The effects aren’t that great and still don’t blend too well with the live action, the actors aren’t giving great performances and the film could never seem to pick a villain and stick with it, having most of the villains feel rather wasted. Not a good film, but I expected worse. Expand

Mediocre action film

As most action films have no plot this movie at least had some plot to it with interesting villains as it was a bit boring however.

All in all Characters are fine and again fun Tyler Perry is good in this.

Out of the shadows again may have Michael Bay action but now it's more entertaining than the previous one,It's silly but at the same time fantastic.
The Movie suffers from it's story,it's so confusing and ridiculous, the pacing is sometimes bad and the visual effects sometimes looks fake.

Brainless fun is what I describe from this film, you need to turn off your brain if your watching, like I did,and you will be entertained,if not you'll get annoyed and constantly asking questions throughout the film even the movie has a lot of problems like stupid moments, again a lazy written plot, dull humor but I was just entertained.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:Out of The shadows is not endearing, engaging,it lacks intelligence accompanied with a lazily written plot, without the feeling of effort in to it but instead a fun stupid kid's movie which is surprising,I've never liked the first one but I like this and my feelings are positive.I'm Just Completely surprised

Come the sequel, and now it was just pure absurdity.

I was actually looking forward to this movie for the inclusion of Bebop, Rocksteady, Krang, and Casey Jones, yet at the end of the day, none of them hit any kind of mark with me. Every time one of them opened their mouths, they always had something stupid to say that sounds worse than the most childish cartoon you can think of (ironic considering I'm a young adult and Krang honestly made me want to puke). Every time they spoke, I had to bite my lip to keep myself from screaming at them to shut up, and you know you've done something wrong when Megan Fox isn't the most annoying person in your movie. Even the action sequences while entertaining felt utterly pointless since I didn't give a damn about what was going on. Literally the only things that didn't suck about this movie were the turtles themselves and the end credits song.

Supposedly there's a third film in the works, and honestly, I'm not going to let myself get suckered in again. If it turns out to be anything like this one, it'll be the biggest waste of time and effort in the past decade.

You got that right. It's no wonder Michael Bay is still ruining our precious turtles like what he did with our Transformers. It may or may not be better than the first one, but it still failed when you talk about Michael Bay and his clichéd explosions. Now that you think about it, Megan Fox is starting to become even creepier in Michael Bay's clichéd films and yes, I've seen the trailer and there's explosions in this movie, I can guarantee you that it'll be more than 25 explosions in this film and if not, then correct me.

Save your money. Nowhere near as good as the first.

First, the CGI. The turtles were great, but all the new animation was terrible. In the very first scene you get to see Rocksteady and Bebop, Rocksteady looks like claymation. It is that bad. Not only that but all the scenes with the Krang look like PS3 gameplay from Fallout 3. Yeah, gameplay from a $250 console. WTF.

The writing was pretty bad too. It's almost like the movie was hijacked or simply the product of warring screen-writers. Needlessly there are two villains; it is forced. And awful.

Don't even rent this. Just pretend it doesn't exist. Put it in that place you keep Highlander 2 and Terminator 3. Maybe the next one will be better.

Even though I enjoyed parts of the first movie, this one is definitely better. The CGI is fairly well done, and the characters are super entertaining to watch and explore. The brotherhood between the four turtles is done masterfully here, when in the first movie it was absolutely not. The action sequences are really fun and despite the physics not making much sense, that's not what the focus is on here.
I personally liked Stephen Amell as Casey Jones, he had a couple of cool action scenes and while by the end he felt a bit wasted, still I am hoping that we see him more in the sequel (if there is one). The main villain is iconic and totally worked for the movie and the finale fight at the end. About the end though, it felt more of the same from the last film and that took me out of it for a second but all in all I definitely enjoyed it and the additions of Bebop and Rocksteady was a genius idea that made the film even more fun.

The first film grew on me and I eventully like it even with its problems. This one is just mess, plot holes that even a small kid will notice. Source material was glanced at at best. The saw a picture of Krang and the Technodrome and said alright lets make him super annoying and nothing like the show at all. Also they don't explain where he comes from in the least just like they threw it in there to try and get us older fans to go see it and it did for me and I was severely disappointed. Never thought I'd say this but Donney was WAY to smart, he figured out the plot almost faster then the villains knew what was going on. This movie was a flop and a waste of money, don't even see it for free on TV in several years, not worth your time. Trailer was extremely misleading.

I love Casey Jones as a character and Stephen Amell as an actor but it was an absolutely wrong casting choice and writing was just horrible. 95% of his scenes are in the trailer and he WAS NOT A COP, how do you mess that up!?

The film contains the same tacked-on humor, lame CGI that looks like it was from a 20 year old Pixar film, and characters that could not be more one-dimensional if the screenwriters tried. We see the four turtles return once again, Leonardo (Pete Ploszek), Raphael (Alan Ritchson), Donatello (Jeremy Howard) and Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) seem to be shocked to discover at how much credit that Vern (Will Arnett) is taking after taking down the Shredder in the previous battle. Since they have to remain unseen to the public, some of them find it hard to cope with saving the world and not being rewarded for it. All the public would do is shut them out for looking like hideous monsters even though they mean no harm. April O'Neil (Megan Fox) is also back, and she is planning to find out more information about the mysterious Dr. Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and what he might be doing with some chemicals at the TCRI lab. When she finally does discover what he is truly up to, it's not good news, especially for the turtles as well as the innocent people. Some new additions to the sequel include Casey Jones (Stephen Amell from 'Arrow'), the fan favorites; Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Sheamus) as well as adding Laura Linney as Chief Rebecca Vincent, who often looks down on Casey, who wants to prove to her that he can be a worthy cop. The Shredder (Brian Tee) manages to escape jail and plans to threaten the city once again... only this time, the turtles seem to have trouble hiding themselves from the public. Everywhere they go, there is always this concern that they might expose themselves to anyone who aren't familiar with them. The film, once again, is not directed by Michael Bay (he remains as producer), but is directed by Dave Green. However, it's hard to ignore that it still feels like a Michael Bay directed action movie. The typical slow-motion explosions, the out-of-place humor (we get more fart jokes again), proving that Megan Fox is nothing more than eye-candy, and some unusual camera techniques that were only unique to a Michael Bay-directed movie. Never has a movie failed to gain my attention, but 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' might just get that reward. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. TMNT: Out of the Shadows was awesome – even more so the more I think about it!

They explored a theme I haven’t seen in the comics, TV series, or other movies – what they would do if given the chance to be human. This rougher, tougher, more intimidating look for the Turtles fit in quite nicely with this subplot. The police initially saw them as monsters. That hit Michelangelo particularly hard. You could see how badly he wanted to fit in. His moment in the Halloween parade reminded me of Quasimodo joining Topsy Turvy Day’s festivities in The Hunchback of Notre Dame.

That’s precisely why Leonardo wanted Donatello to keep it a secret that the purple ooze could be reverse engineered to make them human. And they couldn’t tell Raph for the very reason they witnessed once he discovered the truth. He’s a loose cannon. His and Mikey’s plan put April and Casey in jeopardy.
I like these versions of the human characters. April is smarter than in some version and is braver than in most. She was blond at the beginning and is usually brunette. Will we ever see her as a redhead?
I questioned Casey being so clean cut initially, but this is a smarter, more focused Casey Jones who is still a Looney Tune with a bad temper. That scene in the bar proved that was really Casey.
Vernon was better in this movie than in the last. He was the self-centered glory hound he was in the original TV series, and there was much less of him.
The humans had their place in the movie, and I’m glad they took a backseat to the turtles. In the last movie, the people were a bit too prominent.
Bebop and Rocksteady were a fun addition. I love how Casey considered whether they would be stupid enough to go to their old hangout after breaking out of the police van and said, “Yeah, they are,” just after I said it. The movie held true to the characters while modernizing them. Their idea to form their own foot clan and move up to “a leg clan” was hysterical, as was their resolve to no longer be errand boys breaking within a minute of their declaration.
I love the messages in this movie. Being an outcast sucks. People hate and fear what they don’t know. Mikey’s expression when he said he saw hate in the people’s eyes when the police chief called them monsters was heartbreaking. The Turtles considered being human but learned not to change who you are to fit in. The turtles were the only ones who could save Earth, because their biological makeup allowed them to get close to the Technodrome whereas humans couldn’t. So good they didn’t turn human!
The movie taught not to write off anyone based on first impressions. The police and the Turtles gave each other another chance. The Turtles learned people could come to accept them, and the police saw they weren’t monsters.
The brothers also learned that appreciating each other’s uniqueness and playing off one another’s strengths is how to save the day, not expecting everyone to be the same. Leo’s frustration and cognitive rigidity was so me, but he came around and learned that lesson too.
There were so many great scenes that were just plain fun, like the Turtles watching the Knicks game – especially the spit balls and pizza. And when they all said what they had that others don’t, and Raph exclaimed, “Garbage truck!” instead of, “Turtle power!” That still makes me laugh out loud. And that TMNT theme at the end that blended the original TV series theme song with “Ninja Rap”. I bought it on iTunes.
I watched part of TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze last night on DVD upon returning home from the new movie, and I saw parallels between both sequels. In both Secret of the Ooze and Out of the Shadows, Shredder is back, and he creates two mutants of his own. TGRI / TCRI is prominent in both. The Turtles enlist the help of a crucial human ally – Casey in Out of the Shadows and Keno in Secret of the Ooze. I wonder if that was all intentional. And “Ninja Rap” is in both movies too.
Oh, and the Easter eggs in this movie! Kevin Eastman is the pizza delivery guy, and when Mikey snaps up the pizza and drops off the payment, he calls out, “Thanks, Kevin!” Donatello and all his gadgets were so original series – especially the purple turtle face that appeared on the wrist device he made for April. Hints of the original TV theme song were throughout the movie, the best being when they honked the horn of the garbage truck, and it was the tune of Heroes In A Halfshell. That part makes me smile just thinking about it. And, of course, that medley at the end! It was so awesome that I mentioned it twice. And Casey telling the police the Turtles came from New Hampshire. They really did!! And then, of course, Krang and the freaking Technodrome screams original series!
I love Casey’s realization that the Turtles were the ones who saved him when he saw the trash truck. He sounded out of his mind when telling the police chief about the Turtles in a garbage truck that shot manhole covers – another nod to the original cartoon.
Great movie overall

Now I liked the original thinking it was pretty fun and this is basically the same movie. It's fun, of course, and there are a lot of cool scenes with some humor; but the villains in this film really didn't do a great job. The acting for the villains were bland and all of them except for Krank felt like they had no real power. The film's length was just perfect, not too long or short. However, on the bright side, the turtles were what I expected. They were amazing and fun to watch. Megan Fox was good in this film as well as Stephen Amell. Overall, I guess TMNT2 was a pretty decent summer kickoff movie and was pretty much around the same level as the first one. (77/100) Expand

There is not one good part about this movie. The jokes are stale, and the action is boring and the villain is not even cool. Don't waste money on watching this movie, it will just disappoint you.

A pretty big step in the right direction. April O'Neil (still not a redhead) and Vernon are kept in their sidekick roles, we get a more respectable portrayal of Shredder, there are more classic villains, and the turtles are the main focus like they should have been in the first movie. The result is a movie much more enjoyable for TMNT fans.

The plot is pure nonsense. Both the enemies and the turtles have access to some absurd technology that serves only the purpose of making it as convenient as possible for the villains to have a plan and the turtles to pick up on it. From there it's the standard save the world from ending by powering down some crazy device plot setup that we've seen so much since the start of the superhero movie craze. At least the heroes in a half shell have their own identities this time around, despite the nonsensical and borrowed plot.

Aside from basically being April O'Neil: The Movie, one of the more key flaws to the first of this rebooted series is that it's tone borrowed so much from the other heroes we've seen onscreen lately. There was some of The Dark Knight, Man of Steel, Spider-Man, and so on. The turtles themselves had their signature personalities, but it was hard to pick up on it with all these other superheroes' tones floating around. The fact that the spotlight was on Megan Fox's O'Neil for so much of that movie didn't help either. It ultimately just didn't feel much like a TMNT movie. Out of the Shadows helps to rectify that mistake.

The turtles are front and center in their own movie, like it should have been the first time around. Their lovable personalities are intact and come together just as excellently as ever. The results are a lot of laughs and four dudes you just can't help but root for. Sure we've seen their "we can't work together" drama brought on from their differing personalities repeated in countless forms of TMNT entertainment ad nauseam, but it's worth putting up with just to see these guys return to form on the big-screen.

The action is still CGI-fueled big spectacle. Expect to see a lot of stuff go boom. Thankfully though, despite having Michael Bay's name attached to it, this never reaches Transformers level of visual noise. With the turtles at the center of it, it's still really entertaining to watch. Even if doesn't make much sense how the side-characters are able to take out groups on ninja's without the help of the brothers. Villains like Bebop and Rocksteady make things even more exciting.

While not completely out of the woods yet, the rebooted series gets better with this sequel. The writing could still use some work, but the turtles feel more themselves. The inclusion of classic characters and elements make it a bigger hit for TMNT fans young and old, although the stronger language is not appreciated and may have some parents wanting to cover the younger watchers ears. It may still be big, Hollywood superhero absurdity, but there are enough improvements to maybe get you to slip out a cowabunga or two.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I thought it was better than the first. There was more of a story eventhough the movie still wasn't perfect. Shredder has very little of the scars he had in the first film with I think a very small scar on his face "from shaving ?" Steve Amell is decent as Casey Jones but the movie made him a cop who just wants to prove himself. I would have preferred if Jones looked less like Amell walked straight off the set of Arrow. Maybe make him just a little more scruffy looking.
Bebop and Rocksteady felt like they came straight out of the tv show though. So that was a plus. The Kraang was done decently but with very little backstory. Kraang just wants to take over Earth and that's it. Beats the weaker villain plot of the first film I guess.
Splinter is under-used and his character probably would have been stronger if he was once human like in the show. Karai being his daughter who was stolen and raised by Shredder was good stuff in the newer show. Without that Splinter, Shredder and Karai have nothing too engaging going on with them.
Still; I thought the movie was a big improvement over the first. My 12 yr old niece thought it was terrible though and she's a fan of the newer show. So maybe you will choose her opinion over mine lol. I however grew up with the 80's show and was a big fan of the 1990 movie. Out of the Shadows is the best since the 1990 film I think.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" Opens The Summer Season With Style

The quartet more fun based on comics - not, they are not "The Fantastic Four" - returns to the big screen after its predecessor "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in the year 2014, this time, they mentally prepared in surpassing it in terms of box office and critics, possibly, they will overcome one of the objectives, as regards to the other...
Again, Michael Bay is the producer, giving us action and sense of humor characteristic of his projects, but without the seduction of films like "Transformers". It has got potential, but to be a summer blockbuster needs wit. Dave Green ("Earth to Echo") was sitting in the director's chair, without experience in the genre, but with a great debut.

The sequel includes much more the personalities of the four reptiles - "Mikey," "Leo", "Raph" and "Donnie" - to create an environment equal or at least approximate to its predecessors, especially the soul of the comics of the 1990s.

To be classified as a fantasy or Sci-Fi (Science Fiction) film, the plot must be as distanced as possible of the reality - for obvious reasons - the downside is up to what point the argument becomes stupid or too illogical. The reptiles emerge from shadows in New York to fight against the evil Shredder (Brian Tee). Villain evades death and now travels by America to acquire the three fragments of a technological artifact created by the scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry), with the purpose of obtaining the potion that made possible the mutation of the turtles. Portals, substances purple, mutated animals, fights, and the end of the world make presence in the movie starring by April O'Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and one member more, Stephen Amell - star of "Arrow" of CW - as Casey Jones. The dark side of the story is formed by Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) a wild punk boar with glasses and purple Crest and Rocksteady (Sheamus) a strong rhinoceros. All of them led by Krang (Brad Garrett), a horrible and awesome brain with tentacles that lives inside an eccentric robot, applause for the special effects, especially the effects of this nasty little.

Megan Fox is a little bit of everything here, except reporter. It is remarkable to see how the team takes advantage of having one of the women more beautiful planet on their film - scene in which she has to be near to the mobile device of the scientist - showing great sensuality and delicacy, in which children did not pay attention, but the parents perhaps do. April O'Neil helps in what can to the team, she runs, is camouflaged, shout and fight, a powerful woman.

Shows of its loyalty towards comics, turtles do not explore beyond New York, proving that a big summer blockbuster does not need Europe or Asia to entertain.

Like a great regular movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows" offers cheap entertainment but enjoyable, explosions, car chases and any fight that you imagine are the sequel. We are entering the summer season, where watch a film that stand out in its genre is almost impossible, turtles do not bring nothing new to the adventures world, however, with a soda glass and popcorn, the best you can do is watch it.

TMNT Out of The Shadows (movie) made by TMNT Out of the Shadows (Game 2013s), but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows (Game) is suck and fuuuuuuck compared with movie, movie TMNT Out of the Shadows is amazing, even better than Deadpool although it is true understandably, after all TMNT Out of the Shadows even better than TMNT 2014, a TMNT 2014 is much better than Deadpool, but Deadpool is amazing too . I think TMNT and TMNT Out of the Shadows one of the best movies of all time! I think
to understand that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles necessary have to look TMNT 2014 because TMNT Out of the Shadows is continue for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014 . In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2014: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saved the world from Shreder, in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Police driven Shreder in prison, but Stockman and foot clan help him to escape and in this movie appear Rocksteady and Bibop and Shreder mutates them with a liquid, in this movie appear Casey Johns and saved April O'neil when she stolen liquid after as Shredder mutates Rocksteady and Bebop, eventualy Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles left out of the shadows and people noticed them and learned that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles saved the world and last time, Shredder betrayed Stockman, but Kreng betrayed Shredder, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles won Kreng, they are given a key from city and the film ends on good note of this . Amazing Film . 10/10

This is already a better film than the first film, with the introductions of Bebop, Rocksteady, Kraang and Casey Jones. Ths is a film made by turtle fans, for turtle fans. Definitely check it out.

Was it more faithful to the cartoon? Maybe, but its mindless garbage. At least the first was coherent and anyone with a brain larger than the size of a pea could engage with it. Past the stupid one liners and over used jokes and action, it makes absolutely no sense. Stuff happens because stuff happens. Over used plot points and nonsensical character motivations. People kept saying this one was better than the first and its garbage in its purest form. The first was far more comprehensive and cohesive with a plot that made sense, characters with proper motivations beyond “I’m good” and “I’m evil”. They are back with even more stimulated to fight the crime.

Another great addition to the franchise, I completely enjoyed. The first thing is the pace, it was so fast, from opening to the end, non-stop actions and comedies. I regret that I was not able to watch this in digital 3D, other than that, this is a wonderful film for TMNT fans. I know, some people downgrading it, but don't believe them, it is just a fine film if not an awesome as I'm praising, particularly keeping in my mind the common people. So watch this for entertainment and it will deliver for sure.

There are some flaws, but I did not care about them, because it was not a documentary film or even a sci-fi film, it's just a fun-action film. So everything was aimed to bring laughs and it did successfully. If you go with science, then this is a nonsense film. Anyway, the vfx was very impressive, the CGI characters looked even better than the previous one. Don't compare it with the DC or Marvel's films, it is setting up its own trend. Like those new additions, Rhino and Warthog characters were seems more like reading a comic book, straight outta from the sketches.

Excellent follow-up and expecting another sequel in the next two years. The director of 'Earth to Echo' did a great job, and also all the actors. Little disappointed was the villain. I expected some strong confrontation between the heroes and the bad guys which was a let down. Though, all the stunt sequences were well designed. Those clichés like a mad scientist, alien invasion, hole in the sky et cetera, did not stop me from having a good time. Surely I would watch it one more time, just for entertainment, that's what this film is good at. I suggest you as well to watch it if you're seeking the same.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was disappointed with this one. Mostly because certain characters worked so well while other characters and sub-plots kept popping in to muddle the pacing.

Bebop and Rocksteady = great fun
Casey Jones, April O'neil, and the Brazil sub-plot = Confusing and shoe-horned

It seems they tried to play up the more bright and plucky side of New York, which personally has never worked well for the ninja turtles. They always thrive in a much more criminal-oriented NYC, here it feels like they've just been bored since Shredder was put away. Not any crime-fighting going on in this one.

Besides that, they re-use the old "Raph breaks away from the group and progresses the plot" technique that is getting *very* tiring now. Splinter is also barely in this too.

Overall, while it has over-the-top fun; the miss-steps make this less entertaining than the first.

Anyone can see that from the trailer alone. Overall the film gets a 7/10 simply because it has a huge amount of fan service but still struggles to find its stride in terms of story telling. They finally got Shredder's outfit and the Foot Clan correct and Bebop and RockSteady are fantastic. But ultimately the almost forced inclusion of April O'Neil and Casey Jones ultimately hurts the already weak narrative. Its a movie that is simply good for having fun with your buddies and while sitting there watching there was such a campy 80s/90s motif that it kept me interested enough through the large plot holes. However...the film doesn't quite manage to juggle all of them effectively. Die-hard turtle fans may love the fanservice but some of the characters feel incredibly under-developed or completely off the mark entirely.

Splinter, Casey Jones and even Shredder himself feel like they are afterthoughts. The brief moments they have on screen are alright; but they don't really add much either. Casey Jones and April feel as though they are there solely to advance the plot. Megan Fox's performance of April is one that feels phoned in. In fact the portrayal of April feels like its trying to leverage her sex appeal especially in one of the opening scenes.

Shredder spends a decent portion of the movie with his helmet off and never even has a confrontation with the turtles which is a let down. Krang is perhaps one of the standouts in the film. Reading other reviews I thought Krang wouldn't even have as much screentime as he has even if it is still rather limited.

The plot itself is fairly simple and nothing spectacular. The main focus is on the Turtles themselves and their relationship with one another. I think this is the thing I enjoyed the most about the movie. I liked that they explored the human elements that tie the turtles together. Their bond as brothers. The big theme in the film is "People are afraid of what they don't understand." Its a theme that has been done before and in fact has been used in other recent films like BvS. Its disappointing that we don't see the turtles doing more ninja stuff than what we get.

In the end the movie is an enjoyable popcorn flick if you aren't expecting a deep narrative plot. Like Michael Bay's Transformers, TMNT Out of the Shadows is a big dumb fun action flick. Mileage will vary depending on personal taste, however I can say that I had fun with it despite its flaws.

When a producer gives the go ahead to a bad script, and it is badly edited, they don't say, "We made a bad movie." They say, "The Turtles just aren't in style. They don't sell like Batman or Spiderman does."

TMNT: Out of the Shadows is a huge disappointment. It will tank at the box office, and because of it there will most likely not be any Turtle films in the near future. And that's a shame. I grew up on the Turtles more than Spiderman, Batman, or Superman combined. I loved the Turtles as a child. I still do. Rachael is my turtle-bro. I can't believe I have to leave a bad review on metacritics. They're lucky I don't do movie review on my youtube channel.

The script is badly, badly written. I get that Donatello is smart. But come one. He can trace the two knucklehead, Bebop and Rocksteady, in the film just by analyzing the mutagen that made them into a Rhino and Warthog. Really? And he's immediately knows that the artifacts Shredder is after are a teleportation device just because? He also exactly what's going to come out of the portal. He even knows the name of the villain, Krang, and the **** name of his Technodrome. Really? Who the **** wrote this script?

And then, there's the CGI. It was horrible, but I won't get started on that. I get the whole cartoonish look they were after, but some set pieces just look bad. And then there's the action. It is sloppy. It's shaky. It cuts from scene to scene way too fast. You barely get a feel for it before it ends. It ends leaving you dissatisfied.

The introduction of Krang is also bad. It came out of nowhere. Out of nowhere, Krang and Shedder make an alliance. There's absolutely no build up to it.

It's just, hey, there's Shredder. Zap, he's gone from earth.
"Let's team up," Krang says.
"Okay," Shredder answers.
Zap he's back on earth. Shedder is up to no good again.

And to make things worst, even ****ing Krang knows everything is to know about the Turtles, and Shredder's his past encounters with them. Could this script get any stupider?

But, hey, look who produced it. Michael Bay. Why is he still making movies?

When they were rebooted to the big screen a few years back I was not a fan. It was hard for me to get used to the new design of the Turtles themselves, and the story left a lot to be desired. If it was given a re-write by a true fan they might have had something. This time around you can tell director Dave Green is a true fan and it pays off!

The Breakdown:

Story: 2.5/5

Strengths:
Taking a lot of elements from the first cartoon series!
Lot’s of nods and jokes to fans.

Weaknesses:
Clunky dialog. I know this is a family movie about Ninja Turtles and aliens but this could have been handled better.

Characters: 2.5/5

Strengths:
Leonardo is now voiced by the motion capture actor, Pete Ploszek vs Johnny Knoxville.
Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (Stephen Farrelly) are true to their original characters and are a blast every time they are on screen.
All the Turtles feel much truer to their characters then they did in the last film.

Weaknesses:
Casey Jones (Stephen Amell) has some good moments of entertainment, but feel he could have been a lot stronger if they stayed closer to the original character.
Karai (Brittany Ishibashi) has nothing to do for most of the movie except stand at Shedder’s side.
Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) felt like forced humor and was more distracting. Hopefully if they bring him back as the Fly it might be a better fit.
Can we please get someone else to play April O’Neal instead of Megan Fox?

Visuals: 4/5

Strengths:
All the animated characters felt they fit into the environment.

Weaknesses:
Some of the Technodrome shots in the climax stand out as un-polished animation.

Bottom Line: 3/5

If you are a Ninja Turtle fan you’ll have a great time! We finally get Bebop and Rocksteady and they are fantastic! Unlike the first outing the Turtles voices and personalities are handled well and they all have their moments to shine. With the exception of Shedder just ignore the human cast and let the mutants and aliens run the show!

No post credit scene. You are free to leave the theater.

If you weren't really that in love with the first one then you'll fall in love with this dumb and fun sequel.
I really liked how they FINALLY included the classic Tmnt villains like Behop, Rock steady and Krang. For a Micheal Bay produced film, the characters designs are ACTUALLY done right, good job Bay, you finally learned to make them resemble their cartoon counterparts! The actors that played/voiced the characters did a great job. They knew how to be both threatening and funny.
There's more focus on the turtles, which is awesome cause it's their movie and it should focus on them the most. In the first movie, we had to wait for 20 minutes before we could see them but in the sequel, they appear right away.
The action in the film was awesome like it was in the first film, especially the final battle between the turtles and Krang. The effects and effort they put into this is great.
The Tmnt theme song was in the movie which was freakin awesome and I really liked how the movie had a few tributes and heart to the original tmnt cartoon.
I didn't like how Shredder had a lack of action scenes. I mean he does appear more than he did in the first film but he doesn't have any action scenes at all, not even one. By the way, Brian Tee did a great job playing Shredder.
Also, the part where April O'Neil was changing into school girl clothes was completely pointless. It could of been cut from the movie.
I thought that the movie was a bit predictable like when the turtles are divided. Yeah, we all know they're going to get back together when Krang comes to earth.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Out of the Shadows is one of those movies where it stayed true to the source material.

Kinda better than the first film, though by the end it basically levels out as a draw between the two. Too mundane once more.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows' does improve a few things, one being the score - not that it's great or anything, but it's more pleasant than Brian Tyler's attempt. Overall it's a little more watchable, but what affects this most is the messy ending - especially with the CGI, which looks like a video game.

Cast-wise it's largely the same, though Johnny Knoxville is dropped - not that I noticed until the credits, mind. Can't say I'll remember any of the cast's performances, just like in the 2014 production.

I guess it's a positive that this didn't completely crap the bed, as sequels sometimes do - especially ones that follow poor originals. Still, this isn't good at all - and, unsurprisingly, killed the would-be franchise early on.
