This movie has no limits with its jokes. Its jokes are nasty, sexists, misogynistic, imposingly gay friendly but yet makes you laugh without offending these category of people.

Ted 2 is a pretty solid comedy. I laughed a whole bunch throughout. It did not live up to the story line of the first one. it was basically the same plot as the first ted. Still it was very funny and entertaining.

The sequel to Ted is just as, if not maybe a little funnier than the first one, which not very many sequels do! Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane and Giovanni Ribisi reprise their roles but not Mila Kunis since she was pregnant at the time.The sequel to Ted is just as, if not maybe a little funnier than the first one, which not very many sequels do! Instead with Amanda Seyfried playing John’s new love interest, and to me her character is a better partner for him. The plot of this film takes a real-world problem with Ted fighting for equal rights, and to be classified as a person, and they made it funny. There are jokes throughout the whole film and not a single moment without one, most of them are very dirty and they all made me laugh so hard! The family guy style of humour is even more noticeable here with all the randomness going on! There are a lot of big name celebrity cameos in the movie, most of them were unexpected and provided a good laugh. Seth MacFarlane did really well with keeping the sequel as strong as the first, and that should be a big accomplishment as a writer/director.… Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is a comedy film, with themes present including marriage, adoption and trials. It has a very 'razzmatazz' start, in the opening titles, where the main credits appear - (think top hat and tails) looking like something straight from a 1950s musical film or similar before we crash back down to reality. If you've seen the first 'Ted' film then you'll have a good idea of what to expect, in terms of lude/bawdy (pretty immature) comedy, jokes and some slapstick and this doesn't exactly stray far away from that, its fair to say. However, as should be expected, its an easy watch, its not one to be overly analysed - the basic premise of a talking (be that of the foul mouthed variety) teddy is literally in-credible enough as it is but I found the ludicrous plot quite amusing and relatively madcap, so suffice to say it entertained me well enough.

Cast wise, Mark Wahlberg returns as Teds friend John, a slacker type, while Seth MacFarlane provides the voice of Ted. Jessica Barth plays Teds wife, Tami-Lynn and Amanda Seyfried plays Samantha, their lawyer, while Giovanni Ribisi plays Donny and Morgan Freeman plays Patrick Meighan. There are a number of celebrity cameos present, including Liam Neeson playing a grocery store customer, Jay Leno playing himself in a bar scene, Tom Brady also playing himself in another scene, Jimmy Kimmel and Dennis Haysbert, who plays a fertility doctor. Content wise, this film contains very strong language, multiple sex references and partial nudity, some instances of comic violence but nothing graphic and drug references. It has been given a 15 rating in the UK due to this.

I thought it wasn't quite as funny as the original Ted film but it amused me never the less. There isn't a great deal of difference between the two films and I could understand it if people claimed its too much of a one joke pony sort of a thing but I still found it moderately entertaining for the time it was on regardless. Some scenes had a parody element to them that reminded me of 1980s teen films like The Breakfast Club and Ferris Buellers Day Out. There are some mildly witty word puns used as well and other 80s pop culture references, for example to the 1980s TV show The A Team, plus one scene clearly parodying Jurassic Park.

Partly why it wasn't as funny was because the themes were more adult, in as much as its a serious topic, infertile couples and adoption and to have a fair amount of the film set in court, it did feel a bit less amusing laughing at some of the seedier jokes and I think its fair to say there's a clash between the serious and the amusing elements. Also, the fact they mention race and there's a reference to slavery, in terms of slaves in previous centuries being regarded as property as well, didn't entirely sit well with me. The ending was pretty cringe-y too.

Yes I'd recommend this, as I found it quite amusing, wacky/zany and it has a good cast. Its not exactly an excellent film but its a fun, easy watch, so if you enjoyed the first film then you should see this, as you'll likely enjoy it as well. However, if you don't feel comfortable with some crude language and lewd behaviour references, drug references and so on then you may well be best avoiding this. I don't watch too much of this type of film but once in a while I get a bit of a laugh from them.… Expand

Another sequel that is inferior to the original.
This one just feels half-baked, and in pushing to get that bit funnier has strayed into the territory of getting nastier.

As for the belly laughs, again, things are much more scant this time around. So why such a generous score? I'll admit that subjectivity has played a bit more into this than I'd like it to, as I've always had a soft spot for Seth MacFarlane's brand of comedy, particularly on shows like "Family Guy." Still, I'll concede that "Ted 2" is an infrequently successful comedy at best in my eyes. One that I'll probably forget pretty quick.… Expand

I think Ted 2 had quite its funny moments but other than that it's a rather mediocre film. The ethics kind of aspect to this movie was interesting but of course touched on too lightly. The film brings nothing new, just continuing the story of the obscene and rude teddy bear that shone in the initial film. Unfortunately, the manners and behavior of the creature have in no way improved, continuing to be the perfect mirror of a generation of teenagers with no prospects of life, no education, no manners and obsessed with everything that has to do with sex, alcohol or induce hallucinogenic states. The film is supposed to be a comedy but, viewed from this perspective, it takes on tragic and deeply unhappy contours. But I'm not surprised. I was not expecting Seth MacFarlane, a man who likes to make movies and serials with offensive and provocative humor, had suddenly turned into an Amish or something like that. But I remain in doubt whether the art of cinema needed another junk-film for its vast collection. In any case, the film has an advantage (the only one): as a social critic, it allows us all to think whether we want to be equal or better than that bear, and allows me (and others like me) to write texts like this.… Expand

A couple good jokes. But too too mean and cruel to be funny. I like silly male humor, but this was just two losers who did not know they were losers lashing out at others for perverse pleasure. Feels too much like an extended episode of Family Guy. I didn't feel that way about the first one. Maybe it's the especially inane plot, but mostly I think it was the style of jokes. They felt lazier.

Mixed up, hokey to a fault, loud and only infrequently funny. Ted 2 is far too busy trying to move in every direction at once to compete with it's far more emotionally honest predecessor.

I started watching this movie and I had to check if I just put in the

Unfortunately Ted 2 mostly relies on a similar sort of comedy seen in McFarlane's Family Guy. The only two black characters in the film have the personality of 'stupid' or 'sassy', whilst homosexuals are also ridiculed in a court sequence. Another scene involves jokes about 9/11 and the Charlie Hebdo shootings. During these moments, I honestly felt ashamed to be in the cinema.
Similar to Family Guy, there are few laughs here and there, but this number is totally unproportionate to Ted 2's length, which in actuality felt like double the near 2-hour run time. Perhaps this is a result of the erratic pacing or detestable characters, both of which overshadow the heart-warming note the narrative attempts to end on.
I am embarrassed to admit I saw Ted 2 on the big screen, and if I ever need another reason to avoid McFarlane's "comedies", then the existence of this film is it.… Expand

Mark Wahlberg returns as John Bennett, the grown man with his best friend, the teddy bear that is Ted (voiced by Seth MacFarlane).

The movie begins with the wedding of Ted and Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth), and we learn that John's been recently divorced from Lori (who was played by Mila Kunis, who didn't return for this sequel), and needs to find new love. We see that Ted and Tami-Lynn settle in to married life, and are struggling to pay bills, and have a heated argument that is similar to the beginning of 'Raging Bull' (1980), it was very funny and had me laughing for a while.

We then see that Ted plans on having a baby with Tami-Lynn which they hope will solidify their relationship, and Ted needs to find a sperm donor. They turn to their life-long icon, Sam Jones (as himself), but he cannot deliver. John decides, after a number of attempts to ask other people, that he should offer the gesture, and this leads to a very funny sequence in the fertility clinic.

All hope seems to be lost when Ted gets a letter informing him that he is not a human being, but instead, he is "property", and must settle this in a court case, but he needs a lawyer. The lawyer that he turns to is a young girl named Sam Jackson (Amanda Seyfried), who they discover also smokes and gets high, and she instantly earns their trust.

Donny (Giovanni Ribisi) is seen working at the Hasbro factory, where Ted was manufactured and hears about his court case, and persuades the boss to make Ted lose the case and find out what made him special and sell millions for the company.

The movie is pretty much similar to the first one in terms of its overall plot, and delivers the same laughs we loved from before. But, there are times where even the character Ted comes off as a little annoying from time to time, sometimes MacFarlane probably should've reduced his dialogue to a certain extent. We even get some forced pop-culture references to films like 'Jurassic Park' (1993), and even "Star Wars" that feel very forced as this movie only seems to live off and is dependent on pop-culture jokes to keep it alive.

The original 2012 movie didn't rely too much on forced humor to keep it structured, but this one does, which shows that Seth MacFarlane just ran out of steam for the movie, and the only reason why this sequel was ever made was due to the fact that the first one was a surprise hit.

Wow, well that was truly disappointing. First of all I want to mention that I have watched the extended cut which adds around 10 minutes more of tediousness (no pun intended), and I honestly would have picked the shorter version had I knownWow, well that was truly disappointing. First of all I want to mention that I have watched the extended cut which adds around 10 minutes more of tediousness (no pun intended), and I honestly would have picked the shorter version had I known how bad and boring this movie is.
To be honest, one could tell that the ride is not going to be a fun one after having to endure the opening credits dance sequence which is strikingly reminiscent of that of the Family Guy, only it is almost 3 minutes long. Clocking at around two hours, the extended Ted 2 is full of exhausting moralizing cliché talks about how the legal system is supposed to treat everyone equally, "protagonists going somewhere" montages (and some other montages, like "protagonists prepare for a court hearing"), unmemorable dialogues, unfunny pot jokes, more unfunny jokes unrelated to pot (an added bonus is Mark Wahlberg covered in fake semen. At least I think that it's fake. Maybe.) and occasionally, about once in 40 minutes, gags that actually provoke some laughter. And those gags are not nearly hilarious enough to justify sitting through all the monotony in between.
I truly liked the first Ted. I found "A million ways to die in the west" to be inferior, but still enjoyable. This one, however, dropped the bar so low you can see the rock bottom from here, gotta hope that the trend with Seth MacFarlane's movies' quality turns around. The last line of Ted 2 is "hashtag Sh*t Happens". That is quite ironic, as it is a fairly accurate description of this movie's creation.… Expand

It was fun and with lots of usual Seth Macfarlane type jokes. But I think the first part was better. Of course this had some funny parts and some not so much, but I expected something better. Surprisingly, Ted 2 is better than the first one. The characters are more likable this time around, and it was consistently funnier. It is a pretty silly storyline, but with a movie with a talking teddy bear, that is what I expect.

If you've seen the first Ted a lot, then you know what's going to pop up in the sequel. If Seth McFarlane can make Family Guy work out so well, then this Ted movie could need a lot of work to build up.

This film was very fun to watch. It built upon the question I had about the first film, "How can a teddy bear get married?"

Usually, I don't like films like these. Movies with sex, drugs and swearing don't appeal to me a great deal. Borat, for example, absolutely disgusted me. I did, however, like the first film. I found it original and hilarious.
This film has improved it in every way.

Aside from a few... odd scenes every now and then, Ted 2 was a very, very good film. As a fairly innocent minded person, occasionally I struggled to figure out what was going on, but towards the end of the film - the humour softened a little from lots of sex things to actual genuine hilarity. The second part of the film is easily better than the first. Ted 2 is a must-watch for fans of the first film.… Expand

Ted 2 is a continuation of the first Ted movie and is fairly similar to the first with It's consistent use of Fart and Weed jokes. The movie is funny most of the time but a few of the movies jokes fall flat quite badly. The story this time around is that Ted is forced to prove he's not a toy and that also makes it so he can't adopt a kid and is forced to be divorced...yeah this movie is all over the place. The story isn't anything special but the humor makes up for most of it. If you have seen the first Ted movie and you enjoyed it Ted 2 will be just the same for you, It doesn't do anything new and inventive but plays it safe when it comes to a combine of this level.… Expand

The return wasn't as exciting as the previous one.

No surprise why this film failed to excite me, but a few people thinks its a passable sequel. The original movie was atypical, so the success followed it. In my perspective better that should have left as a one-off movie. But as a low budget product, they knew it was going grab back twice, thrice they spent because of the star value and indeed the first film's influence.

There is no story, simply based on the usual Hollywood road adventure like the flicks 'Fanboys', 'Dumb and Dumber To', 'Not Suitable for Children' et cetera, except the character Ted which makes this theme a special. A couple of good jokes and that's it, the rest were ineffective, sometime keep repeating the same ones. The 2 hours in a too plain concept, is way too long to sit and watch/focus.

The cameos were weak, or maybe worthless/meaningless, especially Liam Neeson's. The best things were the production quality, acting and like I mentioned before, the character Ted. For the one time watch, I think kind of manageable, but definitely not suitable for repeat viewing or to recommend it to the others. But overall, a little disappointed with the outcome. They have got one more chance to end this franchise on a high note as a decent trilogy if the next film gets a better storyline.

Absolutely not, besides that's what makes it different. But Ted 2, Directed by Seth MacFarlane, Starring Mark Wahlberg, Seth MacFarlane, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, and Morgan Freeman. In my opinion, what makes this film great is the performances of the cast, the unbelievably random ass humor, and the fact that it is a worthy sequel to the first film. Now, I could not stop laughing while watching Ted 2, there would always be a joke hiding somewhere, and when you least expect it, that joke comes out and it is so random that it would trigger another joke, and then another joke, and so on and so forth. The film also had a very good running joke that I didn't even expect the first time, it was when any of the characters would use their phone or a computer to search something up it would show, "Did you mean Black Cocks?", and every time that happened I burst into laughter. The performances of the cast was great, even the cameos were random, I mean we got Liam Neeson buying a box of Trix and asking Ted if it was weird that he was buying cereal meant for kids, David Hasselhoff crying on stage while talking about Knight Rider, Tom Brady freaking out after Johnny and Ted were in his house to jack him off for is sperm, Jay Leno being a gay guy who has sex in a bathroom in bar when everyone finds out that he had been doing just that, and so many others. The structure of the film was no different to the first film but it did improve. I almost listened to the critics and skipped this one. I'm glad I didn't. I found myself laughing out loud more in this one than the first. I guess McFarland's humor is an acquired taste. Consider me hooked. I like everything he does.

Much funnier and more interesting than the first one. The story itself, focused on Ted, is quite well developed and discuss important topics for the audience. Sefried coming to replace Kunis was a very good trade because her character is moreMuch funnier and more interesting than the first one. Besides, jokes keep being incredibly hilarious and amusing. The opening scene can be ridiculous just like some sequences through the movie but, in general, we have a good sequel to the 2012's hit. I live in the sweet spot for this movie's pop culture references and therefore had a great time watching Ted 2.

"Ted 2" definitely has the 'Family Guy'-esque humor and charm Seth McFarlane offers; however, the movie is really a solid carbon copy of the original movie "Ted" and to be honest, once of Seth McFarlane is enough.

Ted 2 is directed by Seth MacFarlane (Ted, Family Guy) and stars himself, Amanda Seyfried (Les Miserables, Epic) and Mark Wahlberg (Lone Survivor, Shooter.) But the Jurassic Park spoof was funny but they completely repeat word for word what they say in JP, they also spoof Planes, Trains and Automobiles. There a lot of moments were l laughed out loud which is a big win for the movie but, they're two problems, the first Ted is obsolete compared to Ted 2 because Mark Wahlberg and Mila Kunis are divorced which just shows all that John (Mark Wahlberg) goes through is for nothing, and Donnie is back just to do what he did in the first Ted movie. But it's still a funny movie, almost as funny as Spy. Ted 2 is defiantly worth watching and is a really enjoyable movie.… Expand

To my friend and I, we believe that the laughs were bigger, longer and uncut, until the 20 or so minute mark, they become less frequent, just jokes in general stop happening, it's not exactly what you want for every comedy, but the court roomTo my friend and I, we believe that the laughs were bigger, longer and uncut, until the 20 or so minute mark, they become less frequent, just jokes in general stop happening, it's not exactly what you want for every comedy, but the court room scenes (c.r.s.) and scenes with the Donny character give the audience a moment of pause and reflection, only that moment isn't composed of enough or any laughter to fill time or to break the bleak mood of the audience, the audience itself should serve only to enhance the film, but damn when you get silence for a good 10 minutes it can feel like a job sitting there, looking, sifting through the crap you've already sat through, the Donny character could have [and should have] been revealed at the end when he unmasks himself at a con, the convention is where a **** load of prat falls, punching, tripping, and the gripping of the 3 nippled lady proves to have been a time waster and a hell of a drawn out one, now I remember the first Ted and it having the same problem with wrapping up the plot in the last act, but in this there are still jokes occasionally popping up, which is appreciating, where in the first one fell flat, this new effort does make up for.

Now where this film could MAJORLY improve would be in the c.r.s. It was the best scene in Airplane II because they filled the time with joke after joke after joke filed to the brim with genuine laugh out loud comedy, in here they slip in [or slap in, rather] maybe 5, 10 jokes, 1 of which comes out of nowhere and is off putting, it's to dry and muddled, I don't know why Seth MacFarlane could not come up with anymore in these two scenes, forget throwing anything at the wall to see what sticks, he doesn't even wind up to give it a chance. There's another film called Serial Mom (Waters) where in a c.r.s., the jokes keep coming at you like a freight train, it stays on track with the course and hits a few bumps along the way but keeps on a truckin'.

Overall I'd put this up there with This is the End, in that it'll be funny once, and you'll come back to it later remembering the great canyon of no jokes and failed attempts, but the ones that work, work, like Brooks' High Anxiety, it works as a one trick pony and beats out other show room horses that couldn't even reach the reins if they tried.… Expand

I personally believe that the critics (of whom gave Ted 2 a negative score) are very wrong. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and would even go as far to say that it was better than the first. The instrinsic brother-like chemistry between John and Ted still exists strongly, while Amanda Seyfried was a wonderful addition to the cast, with her character really adding to the charm, hilarity, and, once again, chemistry of the characters. There was not a moment where I found myself bored, or uninterested. There was constantly something going on that kept me eagerly watching! I laughed a lot, I felt upset, and I felt excited. I felt an array of emotions. Any movie that does this simply could not sieze to be good! The plot was very meaningful, involving the pursuit of Ted's human rights - something we can relate to our world. This movie makes you feel good and does not stop at any length to entertain you. Nothing was dragged out too long, no part of the movie felt unnecessary or stupid and none of it was overly predictable.

Go and watch this movie if you enjoyed the last one. You'll be impressed. Haven't watched Ted before? That doesn't matter - you can jump right into it without any problems. This is a movie that has got the balance right with every element; it is one of the best movies I've seen in a while!… Expand

Sure there could have been more of that and the trailers spoiled way too much, but I had a great time with it. The plot is a bit vague though, and the whole movie could have gained so much if it was even more less-serious, just as it should be. Credit really goes to Seth MacFarlane and the big star cameos. It's a classic MacFarlane movie and it might not surpass the predecessor due to lack of storytelling and long-term excitement, but it stands out on its own as a great, crazy comedy.

Movies aren’t just looked at through some cold mechanical process and given objective scores movies reviews are also based on emotion. Everything wrong with this movie made it entertaining. The laughter not only came from the absurd cutaway gags but how nuts Seth McFarlene went with this movie creating what will probably be for me this year’s guilty pleasure. It was horribly made but unlike Hot Tub Time Machine 2 it was laughably bad and there are some people who enjoy McFarlene’s style such as the group of teenage boys sitting next to me and my Father who I saw the film with.… Expand

Or, as I put it when I reviewed the first picture for another website, with such enthusiasm that I actually gave it three-and-a-half stars (I’d adjust that to an even three if I could turn back time), “it really is not quite so different than that of a standard romantic comedy in which a stand-up but somewhat immature guy has to fight off his lesser angels, largely embodied in a slackerish best-friend character, so as to become The Man (and Husband) he was Meant To Be.” “Man” being Mark Wahlberg’s John; “slackerish best friend” being the dirty-talking teddy bear, Ted, and eventual bride of man being Mila Kunis, who as it turned out showed plenty of good sense in not coming back for the sequel.

With John now divorced and porn-addicted, it’s up to exceptionally vulgar Ted to take up the storyline slack. “Ted 2” begins with the bear, who could use a wash beyond soaping up his mouth, marrying former-good-time hottie Tami-Lynn at a wedding officiated by Sam Jones of “Flash Gordon” fame. (There’s a lot of recycling from the first film here.) Soon their domestic bliss goes south, and the couple enact a quasi-parody of the “Raging Bull” “you bother me about a steak” scene, which is rather queasily unfunny because the De Niro part is being played by a stuffed teddy bear rather than in spite of it.

Aside from race jokes, “Ted 2” offers a nearly staggering number of weed jokes, a couple of which are mildly funny, or at least funnier than the rape jokes. Then there are the gay panic jokes, the racial gay panic jokes, the celebrity cameo jokes, and long stretches of no jokes, oddly enough, stretches in which the creepy kidnapping subplot of the first film is recycled, and works much less well than it did in the first film, where it didn’t quite work but, you know, the jokes were funnier. And so it goes.

While the first film offered, by my casual recollection, almost two dozen belly laughs, this one barely registers four. The mean spiritedness oozes beyond the racial stuff and reaches fuller flower at the movie’s climax, which is set at a comic geek convention, and yes, consider the possibilities. All aspiration to actual humor is set aside in favor of a hammering insistence on the sub-human qualities of fanboys, cosplayers and so on. It starts to get numbing after a while. Acridness combined with ineffective humor is a bad mix, and whatever goodwill the movie scored based on sentimental value or the few effective jokes in the front end is entirely spent by the end credits. I suspect it’s going to be quite a while before we see a “Ted 3.”… Expand

The first film was really nothing more than an introduction to Ted, that showed just how extreme a talking teddy bear could be, but it lacked a real story line, and the jokes quickly got old. That however is not the case with the sequel. In Ted 2, the newlywed bear is not getting along with his wife. To save the marriage, they do what many couple do, and decide to have a baby. After failing to obtain "celebrity" sperm, Ted and Tami-Lynn decide to adopt, but the state has other ideas, as they determine, Ted can't adopted because he's not a person, he is property. From their Ted has to use every means at his disposal to prove he's a real person. This sequel has an interesting story and Seth MacFarlane finally decided to play on his strengths in regards to a film. Instead of these long drawn out jokes that seven people in the world get, he utilizes cutaways, the same way he does on Family Guy, and it really makes a difference. Half way through the first Ted, I was bored of it already, but Ted 2 is genuinely funny and can hold your interest throughout. This is the kind of film I always expected to see from Seth MacFarlane, and even people who hated the first film, will not be disappointed. Ted is certainly a unique character, but when he's portrayed in the proper setting, he becomes exactly what he was originally intended to be, hilarious!… Expand

Its 115 minutes, and about 100 minutes too long. If you've seen the trailer, you've seen the film, the rest is just boring filler. This film felt like it was longer than all the Hobbit movies put together, it really drags on and on and on.Its 115 minutes, and about 100 minutes too long. If you've seen the trailer, you've seen the film, the rest is just boring filler. This film felt like it was longer than all the Hobbit movies put together, it really drags on and on and on. Its got one really funny moment and that's it, the first one was funny and novel, this one sucks, the cast is wooden, Amanda Seyfried cant do humour and she has zero chemistry with Mark Wahlberg, it just doesn't work.

The films pacing of jokes is not as consistent as the first film which is one of the reasons the first Ted was such a smash hit; it was constant laughter. This film peaks at points and drops in others so the film fluctuates in comedy throughout, but nevertheless the majority of scenes on screen are hilarious.
One thing I did notice about this film was that the comedic writing had been altered even more towards a family guy style of writing. Whereas the first Ted was more of a continuous progression of the story with its comedy, Ted 2 brings in the addition of having references warrant itself a flashback of sorts, something that is a prominent feature of Family Guy.
The comedy writing is just as strong and even more surreal than the first – even though the prospect of a talking teddy bear is surreal enough already. With a more varied variety of jokes some jokes will appeal to all and others a certain fan base/minority of people.
However, if you know Seth Macfarlane you can be sure plenty of the comedy in this movie is controversial and offensive, which is half the reason we love seeing what he does. So basically, if you are easily offended or have too much prejudice over something that you think could be referenced in this movie don’t go see it. For anyone that has a sense of humour, have a blast with this sequel.
Ted 2 delivers itself well, but does not surpass the original. Still, seeing a sequel to the original Ted at this quality makes me perfectly happy to see a Ted 3 if they are wanting to announce one!

Maybe 5 big laughs. They were big. But not the dozens like the first movie.

Let’s preface this review by saying that if you’re not a fan of Seth MacFarlane’s irreverent and sometimes puerile comedy then please stay away from this film, it’s unapologetic nature may be repetitive and offensive for those with aLet’s preface this review by saying that if you’re not a fan of Seth MacFarlane’s irreverent and sometimes puerile comedy then please stay away from this film, it’s unapologetic nature may be repetitive and offensive for those with a sensitive disposition and it’s just not for you.

In this somewhat rare instance we’re happy to defy the critical consensus and declare that ‘Ted 2′ is equal if not superior to the original and a couple of hours of outrageous fun, particularly if like us you’re prone to thinking in Film and pop-culture references.

Sure the novelty of a potty-mouthed, working-class talking Boston teddy bear is lost in a sequel… and yes the plot is a bit fanciful, plus the tone of the film fluctuates constantly with slower scenes that are brief attempts at emotional content.

But the bubble of pomposity and sentimentality is quickly burst by a combination of physical comedy, Movie references and outrageous sociocultural humour, plus a lot of swearing of course and if you’re uncomfortable with Ted’s plight being likened to America’s history of slavery and civil rights struggles, that’s the point!

MacFarlane’s voice and comic sensibilities are of course the star of the show but Mark Wahlberg holds his own and Amanda Seyfried slots into the dynamic seamlessly while seeming to revel in it.

The Bottom Line…
While no comedy classic and lacking in real depth, ‘Ted 2′ is an undeniably funny film and does a good job of capturing Seth MacFarlane’s brand of hilariously inappropriate and culturally perceptive comedy, prepare to be offended but don’t worry, it’s an offence that shouldn’t cut deep.… Expand

Not once did I find the pace too slow as others have said. Having a good pace doesn't mean that the whole movie should be a headlong rush. You need to sprinkle in some down time. And that's what they do.

Ted 2 does exactly what it set out to do. It delivers a bunch of laughs built primarily on crude, in-your-face humor and it doesn't take itself too seriously. That being said, a comedy doesn't have to sacrifice cinema in order to deliver laughs. I think the first movie was a prime example of that, as it was a genuinely good movie in addition to being hilarious. Instead, MacFarlane turns this movie into a live-action version of Family Guy. The plot is choppy and it essentially feels like a series of random skits, pieced together to form the semblance of some over-arcing plot. It was easily worth watching because it was hilarious but I expected a quality film closer to that of the first one.… Expand

The only real problem with the film is that it's 20 - 30 minutes too long. It's more endearing than the first, and it made me laugh out loud on several occasions. Absolutely worth seeing during this rough time of year for movies.

The script written by Seth MacFarlane, Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, the script doesn't shout out "original" like in the first one, yes it does have a good premise just I think the writers could have made another raunchy fairy tale story with Ted in it. Mark Wahlberg and MacFarlane have some on set chemistry, it's hilarious and charming. So Ted (Seth MacFarlane) is married to Tammy-Lynn (Jessica Barth) and Ted wants a baby to save their marriage, but they can't do it because the law declares Ted to be property and not a person. So Ted wants John (Mark Whalberg) and a young lawyer (Amanda Seyfried) and a legendary, civil-rights attorney (Morgan Freeman) to get the justice he deserves. The jokes in the film are gust busting and it's laugh out loud raunchy comedy filled with R-rated humor. Amanda Seyfried was good to she was the third person in the film who had the best jokes; Mark Whalberg was funny as hell and had a great performance. Everyone saying that this film was better than "A Millions ways to die in the west" It was but "a millions ways to die in the west" was funny and it's not MacFarlane's worst film. Grade B+… Expand

Honestly Ted 1 for me was a 7/10. It was something new and unique and it definitely stood out. In Ted 2 there is an actual story line where the prequel kind of didn't. Ted is fighting for his own rights and wants a baby like any ordinary human being out there and although it sounds ridiculous, its very down to earth in how our society works out. Therefore there's actually a conflict needed to be solved while the first film was literally rated r comedy drama all over the place. Ted 2 in my opinion makes a good sequel and the new actress who is Ted's lawyer and Mark's new gf is a better replacement and her presence felt more needed compare to Mila Kunis from the first film. Ted 2 is a worthy sequel which beats the prequel by 1 point in general. The only thing that Ted 1 beats over Ted 2 is probably no fight scene against Ted and Mark and the jokes are abit toned down compare to the original. Regardless, this film is a 7.5/10 but i'll give it a 8/10. Most people wont agree with me but honestly this movie knows to not take itself seriously and the viewers should know this movie is about a Teddy Bear as a protagonist so shouldn't expect alot but Seth Mcfarlane jokes and stuff.… Expand

It feels like I am watching "Family Guy", on steroids. Don't get me wrong, I like Family Guy. But watching a whole movie based on Family Guy jokes is just too much to digest. It's tiresome at times and jokes are not that funny at all.

Another aspect is that so much of Ted 2 is spent either talking about or copying other movies that very little of it is actually original. It goes without saying, the film's not very intelligent, despite it's moments, and that illustrates the most obvious flaw of this film. The film is tonally and narratively erratic, one moment the film's silly, the next it's really dark, and the plot runs like an extended episode of family guy. So in essence the film is funny, but only for spurts and during the spurts when the film's not funny, the film is all over the place.… Expand

Now looking back on the first Ted movie I got say I changed my mind on it a bit and what I mean is that it wasn't as great as I remembered it to be, but I still think it's decent enough to give it a pass as a comedy and a film. But then I heard news about a squeal in the works and then I heard that Amanda Seyfried, Morgan Freeman and Liam Neeson was in the film and that alone give me a little interest in the movie just by that movie news. I wasn't jumping for excitement for this movie as I the movie didn't look anything special, just squeal bait.

Now after seeing Ted 2 I'm not very impressed of what I watched, actually this movie is pretty bloated for it's own good.

What I liked in the first Ted movie is the chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and the character Ted. They back and forward humor really worked if you would believe it, I mean a pot smoking talking teddy bear hanging around with Elliot Moore from The Happening would actually work is just beyond this world. And here they chemistry is still good just like in the first movie.

The movie did make me laugh a couple of times as that's mainly Wahlberg and Seth chemistry in the movie and some other stuff that's only a small little nod to a film or TV and it was funny at first until late on where they stretched out the joke to the point were it got really old and really stale very fast. But I do think this movie is way better then Seth MacFarlane last movie A Million Way to Die in the West as that movie didn't even try and was pretty forgettable, I mean it's been a year since that movie came out and I forgotten pretty much all of it.

What really surprise me is how messy the movie is and the movie doesn't know what it wants to be, because these three different things going on in this movie like Ted is trying to prove that he's a human because him and he's wife want a baby but Ted needs to prove he's human so he can be legally parent (Yeah I know it doesn't make any sense, just go for it for now) oh and these a road trip in the movie and remember that stalker in the first Ted movie that kidnapped Ted well he's back in this movie. That's the whole movie of Ted 2 for you. Oh one last thing, Ted 2 is kind of the same as the first, I wish I can go into details of that but that would be spoiling it for some people who may have interest of seeing this movie and I'm being nice here and won't be spoiling anything.

Before seeing this movie I thought that Amanda Seyfried wasn't going to do anything great, I thought that she was just filling it in for the money, but I got to say that she was pretty good in the movie. She actually did something with the story and didn't feel like a background character. She was Wahlberg worked really well with each other and Ted as well. Same thing with Morgan Freeman.

Overall Ted 2 isn't all that great to me. As I said before about a billion of times by now you may disagree and like the movie and completely overall on what I said, again that's fine that's cool, enjoy what you enjoy, but I'm sticking what I put down and it won't change anytime soon.… Expand

Personally, I enjoyed Ted 2 more than the first film. The plot is better and so are the jokes. Amanda Seyfried's character is also more conclusive to the plot in comparison to Mila Kunis in the first film.

This movie had a lot of pressure on it to perform as well as the original film which in my opinion is the funniest film of this decade. Ted 2 is not as funny as the previous film but it still is very funny and laugh out loud funny in several parts. The chemistry between Mark Wahlberg and Ted is still very much present and the pair are both really funny. Ted is truly the main character of this movie as Mark Wahlberg's character was the focal point in the first movie. Sadly in this film we lose Mila Kunis to pregnancy and she is replaced by Amanda Seyfried who I was not impressed with in A Million Ways to Die in the West but in this movie she was great and she fits in more with Wahlberg and Ted even more than Mila Kunis did. I like the idea of sending Ted to court for this film because it is entirely different than the first movie but as the movie went on I was finding more and more similarities. Ted 2 feels even more like a Family Guy episode. Giovanni Ribisi is back in this movie and I don't think he really needed to be. His character just complicated things and allowed the movie to follow almost the same path the previous movie did. I think that Ted 2 may be the funniest film we get in 2015, but it was not perfect. If MacFarlane decides to do a third Ted I think it is his best interest to take a little more time and do something really fresh with the comedy genre.… Expand

Seven letters - P.A.I.N.F.U.L. Are we sure that a homonal teenage boy didn't write this movie? There were a (very) few truly funny moments but to turn this into a touchy feely civil rights movie - give me a break. This one actualy hurt.

Seth MacFarlane movies. Love them or hate them. Ted 2 sort of comes in the middle. Yes, it was packed with laughs and it was certainly a good time, but when you look at it from a MOVIE standpoint, MacFarlane's nuts comedy turns sour. Say whatSeth MacFarlane movies. Yes, it was packed with laughs and it was certainly a good time, but when you look at it from a MOVIE standpoint, MacFarlane's nuts comedy turns sour. Say what you want about A Million Ways To Die In The West, but I thought that it was innovative and funny, but not a good movie. Same happens with Ted 2, the highly awaited sequel to the monstrous 2012 blockbuster comedy. Also, Seth MacFarlane's sweet tooth for misplaced musical numbers makes its way to the final finished movie. I really think that MacFarlane's team could have spent more time with Ted 2, to make it even better than its predecessor. Well, too bad. Copied spoofs for Family Guy, tiring cameos and horrible pacing are just some of the problems with this movie. Ted 2 is more of the same, which is good for some movies, but I think that we wanted something fresh and new rather than a flimsy cast with a few adjustments and a wafer thin script. Ted 2 is better than Ted 1. This movie uses more situational approaches to comedy and far less 1 liners than the prior. However it still relies far too heavily on sex and drug jokes which makes it low brow at best. I still laughed, don't getTed 2 is better than Ted 1. I still laughed, don't get me wrong, but you feel kinda bad laughing because it's just "wrong" I guess. Comedies in the past just didn't have to rely on those types of jokes for humor. The saving grace was, believe it or not, the story which had some funny aspects and was much better than the first. The movie though was too long at 2 hrs run time.… Expand

However, the story progresses in an organised structure, allowing plenty characters development with some surprise cameos appearance - Liam Neeson, Jimmy Kimmel and Morgan Freeman. The expression and movement of CGI-created Ted is still perfectly crafted just like he is truly exist as in first film, the chemistry between Wahlberg and Ted is still strong but the romance in between other characters is rather weak, the performance of all the main casts are good even the new comer Amanda Seyfried just fits well as part of the film. Without much difference from its predecessor, the sequel might not offer any fresh theme but its lightheartedly fun and surprisingly emotional ending is still worth to enjoy at the big screens.… Expand

Maybe not quite as funny as the first one, but still pretty funny. I love Seth's sense of humor. If you love Family Guy or saw Ted and laugh at his sense of humor, you'll love Ted 2.
